@KiCreativeStudio Hand-drawn animation is lovely, no question. But no major studio will invest in it today. "Some of us" isn't enough of an audience for a studio to risk that. And - crass as some may think this is - we're interested in making Elfquest known to as many people as possible, most of whom don't know EQ at all right now. Which means the total presentation (story and style) must appeal to a wide spectrum of viewers AND be faithful to the original.
omg could you please make it into a movie? so many people everywhere would be soo happy! I cant believe that no movie companies want to do this as a movie, or, better yet, as a tv show. it is an AMAZING comic and NEEDS to be a movie, or something. Animated would be great, im sure that it would sell very well. I dont suppose that you guys could post on the official website what is going on with this... like is it ever going to be a movie or should we just give up. bc i have been waiting for ever
Knowing the prevailing drug-addled mindset among the 'godmakers,' I've little doubt that a PETA member among them was influenced to roundfile Elfquest due to its ...let me see, how would they put it ...'subjugation and/or abuse of wolves.'
In all candor, it could easily take much less than a vapid PC excuse such as that one to put the nail into the heart of any EQ media aspiration.
I've only just started reading the books. But I have known of the series for many years. I'm sure many would disagree but I believe Zack Snyder would do Elfquest justice if he was to direct the movie. Especially after seeing Owls of Gahoole. Anf by his track record he knows how be faithful to the source material.
If the movie is taking this long. Why not just make an anime? animators take a section and create 1 episode out of it. Why not create the anime? Then make the movies about Bearclaw or when Rayek and Winnowill are one. Episode 1 could end like it does in the book, Escape 2 the Caves
Then I'll go and ask Dragonlance if they can Disney are stupid enough to keep creating lame 3D movies how come their movie about Tanis, Cameron, Tasslehoff Burrfoot... hasn't come out yet.
I don't know If I want a movie. If it was done right it would blow my mind and I could die happy... But if it is screwed up, I would have to see all copies of it destroyed.
For this reason I think it might be better to just let elfquest go, unmolested by those kinds of issues. Let the comic retain it's epic-ness in the books.
...but then again I would die to see cutter and rayek go at it in the trial of head, hand and heart on a imax screen. :)
Oh please please make the movie come to life at last. For half of my life (or actually a bit more) I've been in love with EQ and the movie would bring such joy to me I can't say.
You'll never have better chance to make a Finn happy. ;)
I pray this pans out. I have been an Elfquest fan from the age of 6, and for years, I have been teased with the prospect of movies and TV shows. At last, I have a new hope. WB better not let me down.
Is this movie really going to be a reality this time? Now is the time if so. 70's and 80's are back in the theatres. I've been waiting since I was in high school and now I'm almost 30. I'm crossing my fingers Wendy and Richard. You can do it!
I hear ya, I asked N 1994 if there was going 2 be a movie out & I was told yes N an email YES!!!
They keep stringing us along I think they need 2 create the anime full blown anime then make it into a real movie
Either way I feel like a Child who was just told Santa Claus is not only not coming but will be delayed by another 10 years. There R a lot of voice actors. do the anime first, R something. All this delaying is discouraging. I want DragonLance with Tasslehoff 2 B next
Elfquest should have been made into a movie YEARS ago. So mad!
If it is ever made....NO CG PLEASE.
Some of us would like to see the graphic detail of Wendy Pini's drawings emulated in hand-drawn animation.

Well-a cgi adaptation of The Smurfs is already in production. It's going faster than Elfquest-sigh.

I think we must believe in Wendy Pini's judgement. I think if she has the most influence, it will be a success.
I'm dying to see it!

It won't work unless they use Dean Cain to do Cutter's voice. And Brendan Frasier would make a good Treestump....
