  • Great videos C2builder!I learned a lot about weapons through them.

  • very good video bro! you look like super mario as well :)

  • The bolt/carrier looks close to the Mac, but the Uzi came first right?

  • @AK74Man87 Yes.

  • @C2builder I have the MPA Mac carbine and that is why i thought so. I would like to get the CAI. Uzi someday, then ill have the Uzi and Mac oooo yeah lol.

  • Awesome video! greatly informative...

  • Thoughts on the Century Uzi's? Do they have the usual CAI issues?

  • @SlaughterOtter I have not seen one of Century's Uzi's but I have not heard of the usually CAI flaws as in other guns they build. Not a bad deal though for the price and nobody else is making them.

  • @SlaughterOtter I had a chance to fire one over the holidays. The receiver was actually marked IMI, but it was import-marked by Century. It was a lot of fun to shoot, and I had absolutely no problems. My cousin had a few hiccups, but that's because he wasn't depressing the grip safety properly.

  • C2Builder, isn't Uzi a CZ Model 25 (Sa vz. 23) ripoff? You say that it's a "unique design" and "the first SMG to be fed from the pistol grip"... hmmm... I believe CZ beat them to that. Even Uzi himself said that he was "inspired" by CZ model.

Anyway, like most of other Israeli weapons, it's a ripoff of something else.

Other than these two points, good vid!

  • @KiloSierraAlpha Possibly so, but the inovation from Mr Uzi was the square reciever which was not ever used til that time. Also, the Uzi uses far less internal parts than any of the previous smg. I like to think of it as Israel copies thing and then improves the flaws in certain weapons. They did after all improve our F-16 fighters with better electronic weapons systems.

  • @C2builder That part is right. Uzi changed the receiver to be more square so it can be machined easily. Sa 23 used a circular receiver. But the rest of Uzi design is directly lifted from a CZ SMG. Everything you've highlighted in this video came from Sa 23. There's very little innovation in an Uzi that came from Uzi himself. The best evolution of an Uzi and SMGs can be found in Ian V. Hogg's book "Guns and how they work". I have 1984 edition and it's my favorite book on guns.

    Thanks for vids!

  • Actually, .41AE has more in common with the .40S&W. I do believe that the reloading data for the .40 and the .41AE is so close, it's pretty much interchangeable.

The .41AE just has a rim that's been rebated to the size of a 9x19mm rim, meaning you don't need a whole new weapon to fire 2 different calibers.

The Jericho 941, Uzi, and Desert Eagle all share that interchangeability.

  • How much does it cost??

  • i just purchased my first uzi and cannot believe the simplicity of this awesome weapon....only wish mine was full auto with a 10" barrel!!..lol....maby in 10mm??...owell,,,,still an awesome and simple weapon.

  • Great video. Thanks for posting.

  • ur good at ur world war ll guns u know ur guns nice job!!!

  • Nice well done video, it's nice to see an informative video without nasty language too!

    thanks

  • As guys mentioned before I also agree that the Vz24 series was the first gun to have a mag in the pistol grip

  • UZI IS THE BEST!

  • @izak1992 agreed I got the carbine and I found yesterday that some are marked AFS and the A stands for Automatic which I thought was weird to see on the semi auto version. I heard however, that this is just disconnected and that was why.

  • do u think it is possible to convert a blank into a working one

  • dude, u awsome

  • cz 447 was the first smg to have a grip fed magazine,it was made in 1947, while the uzi was created in 1940, though still a formidable weapon today

  • @GhostyToasty27 that is nonsense.. how funny guy you must be.. but I don't laughing.. why? because Israel didn't even exist in 1940.. every elementary school kid knows that!! :D ..but whatever, as You guys used to say.. :DDD uzi is a direct copy of vz 23.. though having different looks.. maybe for easier production.. or because of desert use where tube reciever of vz 23 would have problem with sand.. if you recall AK rifle, there is the inspiration for uzi housing and reciever.. ;D

  • Sweet, never knew they made .45 ACP models. I just thought it was strictly 9mm

  • I just got this gun a few days ago. I love it so far. My barrel is a lot longer though. How'd you get permission to own a suppressor?

  • Only the full size variant was retired in 2003 right?

IWI still has the minis and micros in their catalog, and I've seen pictures IDF snipers in Gaza with Micros for a backup.

  • I didn't know that. Thanks.

  • @762full IWI makes a modern version of the micro/mini uzi's, picatinny rail on top and bottom, slightly different insides and better material

  • wow! really good video, very clear and straight forward, i think now i will be able to confidently strip an uzi. I didnt know there were so many features. Thankyou for this, now i know a lot more about this fantastic weapon. :)

  • I dont have the money to buy full autos until I get out of nursing school lol. but as far as semi autos what do you think of the vector arms verions of the uzi

  • I didnt realise the UZI design was that old,I always thought it was a sixties weapon, well you learn something new every day! Thanks for another excellent vid,I had a rummage round Centrefires website, good company, not exactly cheap, but they have some interesting stuff, shame they dont ship internationally as they had some great 10/22 mags at a good price,oh well.

  • I like buying from Centerfire Systems, they have some great stuff and certainly cheaper than other places out there.

  • Do you know if a semi-auto UZI has a seperate firing pin and hammer since it fires from a closed bolt position?

  • @stuntmanmike37, yes the semi version as you described was called the Model A and came out in 1980. Later around 1984 they came out with a Model B that was a little harder for people to modify into a illegal subgun. I bought a Model A back in 1980 and it was really easy to convert.

  • @C2builder , i thought turning a model a or b into a full auto was unsafe, and could end up with catastrophic failure.?

  • @jaredleospirit Not unsafe if done correctly. You can convert the A or B to fire full-auto from the closed bolt position or open bolt by changing the entire bolt. Of course only Class 2 manufacturers are only allowed to do this conversion now, not unlicensed persons.

  • @C2builder , also; Can the uzi fit mags from brands other than IMI? I know the instructions in the carbine version say to not use mags other than IMI. But i was with this guy in nevada once who had the model B carbine, and was using mags from the norinco chinese version uzi, and another one that had a shallow guide rail on the back that who wouldnt think would fit, but worked fine. I even compared the different magazines and they had different lip heights. WAS THIS BAD FOR HIM TO DO?

  • @jaredleospirit No problem using original IMI mags. All UZI mags should work with all UZI guns, however some cheap aftermarket mags may fit either too loose or too tight.

  • @C2builder , yeah, he was using aftermarket looking ones that had different things on them that IMI mags don't have; like a 1 or 2 millimeter high spine on the back of one of the mags, so i thought it wouldn't fit right for sure, but it did without a misjam. And im not sure, but if the Lips on the top of magazines are not the exact height then on the IMI magazines when they lock into the chamber, will it misjam for sure?

  • The German army uses an little modified version of the UZI ... called The MP. ... aka Maschinenpistole (1/2/3 i think) ^^Really nice to shoot with a wooden stock :D

  • I had one sold it in the Clinton years for a profit. What a dummy! I wish I still had it.5*s

  • Top vid!!

  • isnt the pp2000 russia / soviet union [ i dont know wat they call it these days]

    main smg

  • Another interesting video. However I disagree with one point - the Czechoslovakian CZ Model 25 / Sa vz. 23 was actually the first production sub-machine gun with the telescoping bolt, not the UZI. In fact many of the design features of the UZI were copied from the Czech gun.

  • Well, considering that both the Czech design and Uzi Gals design were both from around 1947, it depends on which source of info you want to believe. To me it dosn't really matter, they are both great guns and I enjoy shooting them.

  • Awesome video! I learned a lot.

  • Five Stars My Friend!

  • Lets see it fire with the silencer!

And is that the .45 acp?

  • This UZI is chambered in 9mm.

  • ugh cant believe our ERU (ireland's SWAT) still use it poor guys maybe you could donate some of your collection to them ? :)

  • one of my absolute favorite things on youtube. someday matching your collection is slowly becoming my ambition in life :) keep the vids coming. Thanks

  • Thanks for the compliment, but my collection is really not all that extensive compared to others I know.
