This was recorded in the 1980's guys. Hugh had a show with his best friend Stephen Fry entitled 'A Bit of Fry and Laurie.' Was a comedy sketch show back in England. For the billions of people who still don't know, yes, 'House' is English.

I LOVE House. Don't get me wrong, I find it so compelling and the characterisation is wonderful and Laurie is perfect.

But I will always think of Mr. Laurie from his days in British Comedy like Blackadder and his stuff with Stephen Fry doing this. I cry with laughter at those.

i love house the tv show-it's too bad doctor's aren't really like the character he plays. i have breast cancer and another growth condition and have been going to specialists and other doctors for about 10 years now and they don't even examine you. now, i am in pretty bad shape from the "benign growths" which have taken over my body. the cancer is in remission, but the other growths are killing me. i so hope our medical system gets better! thanks for posting!!!

@jay1beaux I'm a dialysis patient (male, 44y/o)so I can totally relate to people who have to deal with indifference and incompetence from supposed medical professionals. I mean, my doctors are all friendly and compassionate enough, but there's more to being a doctor than "bedside manner" -- expertise counts for a lot, too. Some nurses I've dealt with could use a few lessons in compassion, empathy and professionalism, as well, in my opinion.

It is. It was in the very last episode, I believe, of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie". May sound unfamiliar if you've never heard him sing or if you're used to his "House tone", which is very different from his ordinary "British accent" voice. He's just that versatile :). His signature humour (and that slight lisp) are there, though

If you knew anything, you would know that television shows do not make contracts that last that long. Most shows don't even last ten years, why would one be stupid enough to have an actor sign to a contract like that? And he likes doing the show. It's a bit harder for him than the others because he has to change his accent, yes, but he enjoys working with everyone on the show, as he himself has stated. I might be remembering badly, but didnt the guy who played Worf sign a 10 year contract with Paramount and thats why they made him a character on Deep Space Nine after Next Generation ended? I think they very rarely make long contracts, to keep actors that are incredibly valuable on the payroll and away from other companies. Not sure if thats what happened with Laurie, but given how big of a global impact he has on TV as House, they wouldnt wanna trade him away. The dude's a TV titan =D
