Swine flu is not regular flu ... it was caused by the factory farms pumping antibiotics into pigs until they were useless. the swine flu built up an immunity to the antibiotics and became more robust.

Now with the irresponsible practices today that same virus is much more virulent (tough enough to overcome daily antibiotics that frankly should be available to the 3rd world). So the virus is more upwardly mobile and can reach a wider audience.

@alSation81 The correct terminology is Flu type A ( at least in Europe it's now called that)!

And the terminology works like the case of Hepatitis - it increases the virulence and seriousness of the virus as we go along the alphabet.

So Flu type A is the LEAST SERIOUS of all types of flues.

As all people have already concluded, this was probably a scheme from the Pharmaceutical companies into increasing their profits by selling Anti viruses and vaccines for something that is anything but serious

One thing I don't like about Bill Maher is how he uses the same jokes every time he does an interview. For instance, I've heard his "civil war reenactors communicating by am radio" line like 5 times.

Bill Maher is a great stand-up comic. I have read 3 of his books and I am huge fan of Real Time With Bill Maher. I have also talked to him on Larry King Live I think he seemed surprised a 1st time voter was a big fan of him.
