very impressive.. could do with a hand, thanks

  • folktronica is the most oxymoronic thing ive ever heard of...besides the name, the music is good

  • Hey BeatVillain. I thought Folktronica had a good ring to it. Glad you like the tune at least.

  • Oxymoron? Who said Folk had to be acoustic?

  • Comment removed

  • Nice moot comment.

  • @TheBeatVillain i thought folktronica was a genre? it sounds better than electro-folk anyway :P

  • I like your On Stage - damn good portable speaker. I've been thinking of getting one for my kaossilator... and doing this...

  • Mp3 please :D

  • I really enjoyed that.

  • Very nice, creative - not expected. Thanks

  • Friggin nice! I've wanted to add one of these, or similar, to my rig for a while...you've made it tougher!

  • You the man!

  • Amazing :) Nice work!

  • Ha! Great music... you need to post more of these!

  • i've been watching a lot of kaossilator videos on youtube, and this video here is by far the best i've seen so far.

most of the other videos consist of someone miserably tapping out any kind of beat they can find and then looping over and over until all that's coming out of the kaossilator is a sickening sound that some might call music..

  • @omegachen i agree only a few people actually look like they have musical talent or at least take the time to make something decant. personally i just want the kaossilator to do what this guy is doing which is mixing it with live instruments.

  • @omegachen i agree. this video proves two things.

    1: sometimes, less is more

2: you really can successfully mix some beautiful acoustic sounds with an electronic piece of equipment such as the kaossilator

  • I just built my first dulcimer its a four string It looks like you are using a six string... So any way I was trying to play the tune your playing here and cant seem to find the same tones wat keys are your strings in? Also just like every one else here I have to get the Kaos thingy of scince now. I loved watching this wile the glue on my dulcimer was setting.

    Hope you check your post..

    Thanks for your time

  • Kaossilator owner here. You just inspired me to buy a Dulcimer. :)

  • OH my god me too!!!

except i dont have a kaossilator yet

  • You absoulutely ROCK! The dulcimer is one of my fav string instruments. I gotta buy one now to go with my new Kaossilator.

    THANKS for the vid!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful, hypnotic. I'd buy an album of such songs. It's after-midnight sexy. As a beginning dulcimer player, it's inspires me to keep practicing. Really excellent. First time I've seen a kaosillator. Thanks for posting this.

  • this is so inspiring and wonderful to watch!

  • Thank you.

  • That's a real great sound. You should compose a few more maybe a whole record.

  • Thanks. :)

  • how many strings are on a dulcimer?

    Great vid, by the way!

  • There are at least three, but usually the strings are paired, (similar to a mandolin) so there can be up to six.

  • You rock Mr. Skull! Even if you do play your dulcimer upside down...heh, heh. ;o)

  • what? Upside down! Oh No! ;)

  • Inspirational. Now I want a Kaossilator!

  • it's a shit!! wtf is he doing??

  • That's excellent!

  • I'm learning dulcimer and this is awesome! It makes my kids think the dulcimer is cool - thanks for posting!

  • AskMrSkull..That particular guitar you have there, called a Dulcimer, correct? do they make guitars still like that anywhere? just curious. I already have a Kaossilator & I have a mini KP pad which I can both use to make different sound patterns with my beats, but with what you did, was truly, outrageously fantastic. I like what u did & how it sounded and everything. Thats really somethig unique & original. How'd you come up with this idea? I'm really fascinated with this whole idea. keep it up.

  • Hey HomeboyNJ08. This is what's called a mountain dulcimer or Appalachian dulcimer. Yes they still make them. It's in the zither family and not really a guitar.

    Seek and you shall find.

Oh...and thanks for the positive feedback. :)

  • very nice

  • i love this sound...wonderful music making...

  • Brilliant. Truly inspiring!

  • This is absolutely fantastic. I was considering the kaossilator just for me to play around with using headphones while I'm on a bus or something, but now... I absolutely have to get one, and use it with stuff like this. Keep up the AMAZING work.

  • Awesometastic.

  • Organic and Technologic.

    Love it!

  • That looks like fun! :)

  • This video is blowing my mind!

Sounds familiar though. Is it a cover of something?

    Great job either way!

    I want more!

  • Not a cover. Something I thought I made up but it may sound like something. Most things do. Thanks :)

  • You rock dude!

  • Exellent !

That's what we can expect from this instrument ! Very Good !!!

  • smooth

  • And thusly a new musical genre was born.

All hail the father of Techno-Billy!

  • More like Folk-tronica.

  • No words, I want one! Great work!

  • amazing!

  • Awesome dude! You rule! But what's with the kakki pants?

  • My wife's gray sweatpants actually. Don't tell anyone I wear my wife's clothes. Whoops. I just did, didn't I.

  • This is great man. Not only does this show the versatility of the kaossilator but those dulcimer melodies sound great.
