This is awesome, but quit being a pussy I've had my r/t above 160 several times, srt8's should be able to do way more than that if it can't you wasted your money.

@ficklefackle 0-60 in 4.9 second according to most reviews. It was rated the quickest car by Road & Track for under $40K as of a couple of years ago.
@GrimSRT8 The car manufacturers will tell you anything to get them dead presidents from ya. Happy with my SRT8. Outstanding to drive. Most enjoyable when I am jumping on the freeway. :o].
@fastsrt8 Well Road & Track produced those numbers not Dodge. My non-stock car can do 0-60 in under 4.2 now.
The only time I really felt Dodge was lying to me was at the SRT Driving Experience. The instructors there are just glamorized sales people. I love when they told me I was driving the Viper wrong when I used the throttle to help rotate the car on an autocross course. Then I beat the instructor's time by over a second. At least I won $500 in prizes there.
@GrimSRT8 It's nice that you had some honest sales people. I pretty much had to do my own research, before I purchase my SRT8. Never had the opportunity to the SRT Driving Experience. I know that $500 at the end of day made the day Outstanding. Keep the Faith.

@DavitzHelsing Chally gets the softer 300 suspension. The Charger is the only one with the stiffer (better performing) springs. Of course it does't matter if you are going to replace them anyway like I did.
I love to see people bash the Chargers, I sold a 535i (sport) BMW to get mine and couldn't be happier. I like being able to get into a car and instantly enjoying it. The German's complicate their cars so much that its hard to enjoy the drive. If you went to Germany you'd be surpised to see how many wanted the SRT8s

@reaperq88 Not if both cars are stock. The R/T would beat it soundly. The Caprice in police trim w/5.7L does 0-60 in 8 seconds. A '96 Impala SS will do 0-60 in 7.0 seconds. A Charger R/T with the Road & Track package can do 0-60 in under 6 seconds (around 5.8).
Or are you talking about the new car that is being based off the Pontiac G8 for police use only?
@reaperq88 I looked it up, and with the LS4 the Impala SS will do 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. So it should be a drivers race, but the Impala probably has the advantage. Keep in mind that the Impala is FWD in this generation. I personally hate FWD cars if you are trying to get any good performance.
@cfunicelli Where did you get those numbers? It is definitely possible with a broken in Hemi and a great driver and launch, but that is approaching SRT8 numbers. It would also require the 3.06 rear end to hit 0-60 in 5.3 I would think.
Yeah. Either way I like them. The LX platform has really helped Chrysler and Fiat's management and Quality control has really shown in the 2011 300 and charger redesigns. The interior is first class. I can't wait to see them in person. They are also suppose to bring back the Magnum, which I really liked.
wait til 2011. :-) Of course, there is nothing wrong with the mercedes transmission. haha, its a high performing one that's for sure but 2011 will have a chrysler/fiat dual clutch auto 6 or 8 speed. uninterrupted torque ftw. just because the hemi is assembled in mexico doesn't mean it's a mexican engine or car. it's still a chrysler, designed and manufactured engine by chrysler llc america.
I know that the R/T has an optional 6 speed. I was saying that the Challenger SRT8 is the only SRT8 out of any of them (300, Charger, Challenger) to have a manual transmission.
its a shame really, cause these automatic shifters dont do these engines justice, they're better off with manual boxes, that way there's more driver involvement, and it'll help with performance very slightly
this isn't 1982. Most automatic transmissions today are JUST as efficient and just as performing as manual's. They are very sophisticated here in 2010.

@DavitzHelsing Chally gets the softer 300 suspension. The Charger is the only one with the stiffer (better performing) springs. Of course it does't matter if you are going to replace them anyway like I did.

I love to see people bash the Chargers, I sold a 535i (sport) BMW to get mine and couldn't be happier. I like being able to get into a car and instantly enjoying it. The German's complicate their cars so much that its hard to enjoy the drive. If you went to Germany you'd be surpised to see how many wanted the SRT8s

@NorthJorgie89 No! Ran out of road. Video of speedometer was taken on first run. not the second run. Video was also taken from two different cameras, on first run. One camera on return run. One of the road, and the other was taken of speedometer. But If you look closely at the speedometer the needle was still climbing. Also you can hear me take my foot of the accelerator.

@reaperq88 Not if both cars are stock. The R/T would beat it soundly. The Caprice in police trim w/5.7L does 0-60 in 8 seconds. A '96 Impala SS will do 0-60 in 7.0 seconds. A Charger R/T with the Road & Track package can do 0-60 in under 6 seconds (around 5.8).
Or are you talking about the new car that is being based off the Pontiac G8 for police use only?

@reaperq88 I looked it up, and with the LS4 the Impala SS will do 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. So it should be a drivers race, but the Impala probably has the advantage. Keep in mind that the Impala is FWD in this generation. I personally hate FWD cars if you are trying to get any good performance.

@cfunicelli Where did you get those numbers? It is definitely possible with a broken in Hemi and a great driver and launch, but that is approaching SRT8 numbers. It would also require the 3.06 rear end to hit 0-60 in 5.3 I would think.

Yeah. Either way I like them. The LX platform has really helped Chrysler and Fiat's management and Quality control has really shown in the 2011 300 and charger redesigns. The interior is first class. I can't wait to see them in person. They are also suppose to bring back the Magnum, which I really liked.

wait til 2011. :-) Of course, there is nothing wrong with the mercedes transmission. haha, its a high performing one that's for sure but 2011 will have a chrysler/fiat dual clutch auto 6 or 8 speed. uninterrupted torque ftw. just because the hemi is assembled in mexico doesn't mean it's a mexican engine or car. it's still a chrysler, designed and manufactured engine by chrysler llc america.

I know that the R/T has an optional 6 speed. I was saying that the Challenger SRT8 is the only SRT8 out of any of them (300, Charger, Challenger) to have a manual transmission.

its a shame really, cause these automatic shifters dont do these engines justice, they're better off with manual boxes, that way there's more driver involvement, and it'll help with performance very slightly

this isn't 1982. Most automatic transmissions today are JUST as efficient and just as performing as manual's. They are very sophisticated here in 2010.
