God, why do I keep thinking of this town? I've been gone for 25 years this summer. I've broken every tie I have to it, but still in those quiet moments it calls to me. Something so desperate in my soul cries to be there again. But not now. Not as a 41 year old man. But as that kid that felt so alone and did not see the friends all around him. I want have that magical movie flash and try it again. I want to get it right. I want to see my lost friends again as they were. As we were. Kids.
i live in kelso just on the hill over three rivers mall you get no smell and no noise pollution besides some minor freeway noise but this old house is tight as heel and quiet at night i wonder at night it is so freakin ass quiet now its rediculouas no one anywhere .
Sorry I was very tardy in response to your Longview question. I have not lived in Longview for 21 years, but did spend the first 21 years of my life there. The place has a beautiful lake right in the middle of town. I have many great memories fishing there as a kid, cussing there as a kid, and smoking there as a kid. Longview is on the big side of a small town, though you will find the red neck element alive and well. When I lived in Longview it was a beer and pot town. Meth is king now.
I wouldn't recommend it...While some bits may be very beautiful at times, such as the lake, parts of R.A. Long (a local high school) and the civic center, we mustn't forget about that awful smell that lingers in the air, all of the mills nearby that create smog and make noise all night long, and the ever growing population of crack-heads (deny it all you like, but everyone knows Longview is full of them).
you are sooo right!!! I lived in Longview for almost 30 years and after the mill shut down the whole town went to crap or crack one of the two....anyway in my opinion Longview is a very pretty place to live, but has wayyyy to much baggage....
