i wonder why i cant get my absynth to appear on cubase

I could really use some help if youve got any advance. Im probably being really stupid but i have downloaded a vst which has come as a .rar file. I would like to use it in the same way as the ambracer, mystic, spector ect, however i cant find any way of doing this??

a .rar file is a compressed file, you need to download winrar to open them :)

strange that they are low as here they are very loud, i cant listen to them above -1-db or my ears bleed.
