  • Was never much on country until I went into the Military '95. Alan Jackson has alot of good songs, and I have to check out the old songs.(the archives) He makes you feel like a fellow country boy- and if not .. a neighbor in arms reach.(either way, you'd want to where a pair of wrangler jeans and cowboy boots for the mid-west.)

  • My parents used to listen to this. im a native texan to and damn proud! I live in cal Now!!! <3

  • this is a pretty song

  • I'm glad this is the full song and not that SHIT that VEVO put out!

  • I love this song so much♥

  • Country is dead...

  • rap, metal, rock what the fuck ever, Country will never die america is Country

  • @themoldman85 Very true.... blues (my favorite) was based on early country music chords and chord progressions and metal/rock is based on the blues. I dont know where rap came from (my guess would be from people who couldnt actually sing) but it needs to quietly die away.

  • RIP to all the lost but never forgotten outlaws

  • wht happened to the good ol counrty music like this

  • RIP Hank Williams Sr.

  • you are so gooddddddddddddddd♥♥♥♥

  • RIP Hank

  • Do you look around when the wind dies down, on a short stop outside of town

  • chill from this song definately!

  • the steel guitar in this song gives me chills! i love it!

  • I bet Alan Jackson was listening to Hotel California when he was writing this song, because they both sound very similar.

  • To answer an earlier question; Nudie suit --- Cohn Nudie was the greatest tailor for the type of suit worn by so many early C&W artists. Rhinestones, spangles etc always way over the top.

  • hankk williams, we will miss him, alan and hank jr the most i beleive

  • One of the best country songs ever!

  • Another flawless masterpiece from the man with too many of them to count.

    Thanks, Alan.

  • 6 people need to shoot themselves, you dont like this song? god damn idiots

  • Listened to this when i was little

  • This song was written about Hank Williams, who was from Montgomery, Alabama. It is a mid-tempo, largely acoustic ballad in the key of D minor. The singer describes a New Year's visit to a Montgomery grave (Williams died on New Year's), and encounters the ghost of Williams who thanks him for paying tribute before disappearing. The song also references several Williams hits, including "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry."

    RIP Hank Williams Sr. 1923-1953

  • @JohnCenaLuver1175 dumb ass he was not from montgomery ALABAMA his grave is there ill let check your facts find out on your own from a real hank fan

  • @philmartin9878 His father, Elonzo Williams, worked for the railway and was transferred often, so the family lived in several towns in southern Alabama. When he was a teenager, they moved to Montgomery, Alabama where he spent alot of his time. He was born in Alabama. So I would get your facts straight. I've probably know him longer than you. Either way, its a great tribute song to Hank Williams. Do we really have to fight and curse over stuff like this on a tribute video?

  • this songs from 92 its dedicated to hank sr.

  • @stutgart87

It was done and dedicated in 1995

  • @silentsinger95

no sir 1992 it won the cma that year for best video

  • I am not sure but I think he dedicated this song to Dale Earnhardt after 2001. either way think its very fitting. R.I.P Dale!

  • @gigybeast This song is dedicated to Hank Williams Sr. The King of Country Music!!!

  • david Allen coe did The Ride :-)

  • Hank III. The Ride. You're welcome.

  • song brings a tear to my eye its one of his best and love every second of this song

  • used to weld to this @ work creepy under the hood

  • 5 pple suck balls when its midnight

  • @MrAlexjerry23 are you one of those 5 ball suckers?

  • You can't see Hank at midnight in Montgomery. Signs posted everywhere that say no passing after dark, police station right next door and crusiers driving all around.

  • @Edwardsbesttoy If they say so.

  • @Edwardsbesttoy ....Really ,cause they said so? Just move along ..nothing to see or hear here?

  • @mzlan3179 ....Not just because they said so. Because when we drove through there was no way get out of view. We were going to park somewhere & try to sneak in; there's no fence around the graveyard. But everywhere we turned we came across yet another police cruiser watching us like a hawk.

  • I would love to hear III cover this song!!

  • @the06rebel my family have a country band and cover this song and sone better then the original

  • @eduardocaguama I mean im not saying your a liar or whatever, but there is no way its better than the original when this song is written and dedicated to hank from Alan. But where is the vid, and by III I meant Hank WIlliams the 3rd, who is the best!!

  • @the06rebel next week i will post the video

  • a nice story best told

  • i love this song

  • the type of country music that doesnt exist anymore....

  • @WATCHDOGG420 aint that the truth. Most of today's singers are just singin for fame and fortune. You don't hear this kinda passion in country music anymore

  • @WATCHDOGG420 You're just not looking in the right places.

  • this is an amazing song and is definitely worthy of the great Hank Williams...thank you for posting

  • this song is so deep

  • being as i am still fairly young but have just in the past few years started really paying attention to music it had been awhile since i had last heard this and i was at the jukebox at a bar and saw this so i played it and finally listened to the words its a haunting song but an amazing one at that... thanks for posting!

  • This song Give me Chills Big time.. I can Listen to it over and over and NEVER get tired of it.

  • Love this song

  • Wow this is a creepy song! but I love it

  • Question for everyone (and I'm asking because I don't know, not as any kind of offensive question). Did Hank really provide the basis for much of modern country music as people say? It seems like he wasn't around for long enough to do that but again, I'm not sure, so I'm asking.

  • @MyFeedbackID Hank Williams IS the reason that country music exists. He started it all. He did alot for music in his 29 short years on this earth.

  • @z28931 That's cool. Do you have specifics of what he did by any chance?

  • FINALLY!!! i've finally found it,after nearly 10 years i've finally found my all-time favorite song! THANK YOU YOUTUBE!! =D

  • I'm not the greatest fan of country songs but this particular one can only be loved. Such good memories it brings up :).
