But there ought to be some producers somewhere in that maze of bricks that can see the value in getting the traditional sounds back on the air and back on the streets; with modern digital technology to make it sound even better. Gene's voice is like vintage cheese---the older he gets, the better it is. Vocal range is still good and quality has not diminished. Rhonda is a perfect companion vocal and compliments his smooth delivery. This is good for the ears---more is better!

Rhonda is one of our best family friends. Weve eaten lunch together at my grandmas house and stuff. i love her tour bus. my parents and her met when she came to my dads recording studio plus one of the people from her band has also been my dads close friend for many many years (Audie).

This has to be one of the top 10 beautiful love songs of all time. When it's done so well here by Gene and Rhonda makes it so special. They are a terrific duo. I do like Buck Owens' version, too. perhaps it's because he sang it first for me. I am hoping and praying that Gene's new album will win an award - "A Taste of the Truth". I love this duet & God Knows Gene & Rhonda are two of my favorite & the two best singers on the planet. But, as for Buck if you want the absolute truth, my friend Eileen Sisk is just finishing writing "Buck Owens: THE Biography" for Chicago Review Press due out in August 2010. Oh, I always get confused as to how to reply. I guess I replied on your personal page. Anyway, Mark, I think you are being a bit harsh. I don't know anything about what he did to Merle Haggard. If he tried to cheat him, that's a bad thing. But, I enjoy Buck's music. He may not be the best singer in the world, but I like his style and the county sound of his voice and music. Mark, this is strong stuff, where did you get the information to back up this claim ? I have been a Buck fan all my life and judged him on the amazing talent he possessed, lots of artists got involved in country music in the early days by listening to Buck Owens and although he had his faults he was one of the most respected and talented artists in country music. Sadly Buck passed away in March 2006 but the Bakersfield sound he created still lives on.

LoveConway - Even though I love this version by Gene and Rhonda I must say that I first heard this song years ago by Buck Owens and he does a heck of a job with it. My favorite of his love songs is "Crying Time". I watch his videos here and no matter who sings this song it's one of the most beautiful ever written and says so much. - Paula
