It's got something of a curse attached to it, which basically means that any game where you get to control a free roaming Superhero character with full customization is doomed to fail, either by the company collapsing, the project being too complicated or the designers just losing interest altogether. I'd like a Mirrors Edge mod for it, because it feels cleaner and more appealing in HD than a dirty wasteland (and more vehicles regardless of the Crackdown rationale of if you have powers why do you need vehicles.. well you can have over powered vehicles on a vertical map derp, see Red Faction Guerrilla).
Guys, whoever is working on this please take note; the models are good but the animation itself sucks. It's just not expressive enough compared to the games that are out there right now. I just don't feel the emotion coming from the action that the player avatar is doing. It just looks like they're moving because they're rigged and not enough like they're doing something for themselves.
I like the premise and Chicago sounds like a very good place to set an open world superhero story.

You are totally right that the game isn't close to being finished (didn't know that), but I also have to say, that in comparison with games like SKyrim, AC: brotherhood and heck, plenty more titles, the animations (and the aiming) look quite basic. That's my judgement call for NOW, I don't know when the game is being released?

I think this is another case of a game company seeing a game that a company could'nt finish due to money problems (Hero by Midway could've knocked Mass Effect 2 off it's pedestal of best RPG game of the year.) I have high hopes for this. Good luck,Phosphor Games. Please don't mess this up.
Looks fantastic. Some of the particle effects like melting dudes could be a made more visceral though, obviously it is still very early! Can't wait! Just hope it isn't too linear.

The character models (protagonists, NPC, etc) from the "Hero" prototype look way better, scale seems a bit off, mainly I hope its important to draw the player to objectives by rewards, XP, etc. rather than limiting the gameplay, as stated by Chip Sineni in the interview with Gamasutra.
AA, lighting, etc looked better in the 'Hero' prototype. Seems like a "Heroes" inspired storyline, All the best folks :)

@DirtJuice The song is Saeglopur by Sigur Rós. This song was also used in one of the official trailers for the 2008 Prince of Persia game and that trailer is one of the best game trailers I have ever seen.

This was spawned off of Midway's "Hero" (an infinetly more polished prototype)
the studio dropped it for financial issues, and Phosphor is doing it again, but it looks like it's starting from scratch.
