@ownage305 In a way you're right there, but If it were running rich the computer would be trying to lean it out and adjusting short term fuel trim to try to get it as close to stoichiometry as possible.
for some reason i have a hard time believing that this is from seafoam, i run it through my gas every couple fill ups in my TSI and it never smokes....
That's through your gas. I added it to my gas, crankcase, and top-end. A full-clean out. Gas tank is to just clean out your injectors. Crank and top-end will clear all the carbon build-up. Look up more seafoam videos, and this is a common trend, unless your engine is sludge free, then seafoam is pointless.
and.. just so you know, revving a motor without resistance against it isnt good for it. you could snap something or blow something very easily. it happened to my dad..
Seafoam is a detergent that can clean various parts of your engine and engine components.
Oh and I know revving the motor without a load isn't good. I am an automotive technician, lol. If you listen carefully there is a slight lifter knock :D but if you look through my other videos I've done a lot more to the car :D
@PaulRSTEclipse great to hear that man haha...do u still have the car?? man i have a 97 GST and it has a lifter knock and i can not get rid of it....do you know how to fix it at all??
if i didnt read the discription my first thought would have been a blown head gasket. but ya seafoam is good shit. i used it in my eclipse before i rebuilt the motor
it wasn't too hard for me. If you know how to weld really well, you'll do fine. And that's a BIG NO!!! on the turbo kit. Kits will never come complete. You will be missing all your fuel components for the turbo set-up. Check with Hahn Racecraft for a kit, and e-mail them if they supply the whole kit with fuel components or not. Either that or piece the kit yourself, I've told so many people this.
Seafoam basically cleans out your engine of most of the carbon build up that has been produced from burning oil, fuel, and whatnots. Usually makes your car idle smoother. You can use it to clean out your injectors, clean your bottom-end, and your top-end. Works great. but the downside would be you'd have to get new plugs, oil, and 02 sensor, if you're lucky you won't need to change out your 02 sensor, but most guys end up anyways.
r u sure u didnt blow a head gasket just kidding man but damn thats alot of build up i remember that shit with my 93 eclipse gst runs better after that though
haha, it'd be a bitch if it was a headgasket, lol. I seafoamed a second time a few weeks after that and I covered a whole block at my friend's house. The good 'ole 007 smokescreen!
How hard to you drive your car? What grade of fuel do you use? How well do you maintain your car? How many miles are on it? And how old is it?
Mine being a 96 had a lot miles on it, mostly highway, but still was getting to be an old car, and had tons of carbon build up. Those usually factor into how much carbon build up you'll have. If you have a newer car it won't be a problem.
It will probably make you burn more depending. If your rings are starting to die out then doing seafoam will break up the carbon build up which will make you burn more oil. Either that or your valve seats are getting old and need replacing and oil can be seeping through into your cylinders from there.
Hey dude. If you wanna clean it out do it with an almost empty tank so you can clean out your injectors. 1/3 of a can will do in the gas, 1/3 in your intake plenum, and 1/3 in your crank case. That'll be 1 whole can. Once you put it in let your car sit for 15 mins then start her up and rev the shit outta her and take her for a high rev spin round the block. Change your plugs, oil and 02 senors as well after you're done.
The white smoke is from the seafoam that I poured in to the gas, crank, and intake. It burns away the carbon build up that is in the bottom and top end, and cleans out the injectors too. It's good stuff. Cleans ALL or most of the crap.
To be completely honest I was looking at a header on eBay, but I've heard some bad things about them, that they're made of a very thin metal and that they will melt down...
I honestly doubt that would happen unless I raced the car vigorously, I'm not a retard that lets it overheat.
I'm probably still going to get a header off eBay. They are ceramic coated, and they're $70 SHIPPED.
Hey don't get the ebay header man. They might or WILL crack. Do it right the first time so you don't go through the pain of starting from square one again.
I have a Megan Racing 4-1 header with downpipe and full 2.5" N1 cat back exhaust. It's loud when non-turbo, but after turbo it ran alot quieter and smoother.
Awesome bro, thanks so much for the info, and I think I may consider that exhaust... God that's nice.
I'm getting a header eventually as well.
My friend suggested a little thing for me to do for now, simply putting 1/4" spacers in the exhaust bolts so there's a little crease where air can flow freely, making the car a little quicker and sounding amazingly aggressive without sounding ricey.
It's nice, I removed the silencer off the tail pipe to make it sound a bit beefier. What kind of head you thinking of getting? If you can find one that is ceramic coated that'd be awesome 'cause then you don't have to worry about wrapping it with heat wrap.
He says the spacer made a pretty big difference, because it lets out air before it enters the muffler. Almost like having open pipe.
You technically *could* put the spacers in front of the cat, but that would make exhaust fumes leak into your cabin and engine, heating your engine and most likely killing the driver. Where he puts the spacers is right near the muffler, so that it doesn't interfere with the other parts. I don't think he'll pass inspection though.
Oooh my whole setup is completely different from last year, lol. It's gonna be sweet.
HRC? They sell nice kits and all, but they are WAY to expensive. I pieced my turbo kit together instead of buying a kit. Kits are hit or miss when it comes to having a complete kit (usually a miss). I have a T04E .50 A/R turbo wet float bearings.
I used the vacuum line that goes from the intake manifold to the valve cover and that worked just fine. And yes just let your engine run and suck up the seafoam. Don't plundge the line straight into the seafoam though. Little by little or your engine will shut off. Remember to change out your spark plugs and oil after you're done! And how many miles you have on your motor? It'll feel good once you get all tha done :o) cleans alot of the carbon build up.
Nice, NGK's are great. Take the vacuum line from the valve cover and suck it into the intake manifold.
Hmmm.. I dunno about the 500miles part. Everyone's car is different. I barely ran my car 100miles with seafoam in the crankcase and it started to choke really bad. So it's up to you, bro.
craker bitch when you actually tell the truth about your piece of junk car and put it in a video then you can talk the talk bitch now then you dumbass white boy go fuck your mom get yourself a new brain and learn when to open your mouth before you speak to me again thanx bitch
Since you're the one talking about sucking dicks; You're the one that likes it. Apparently that's all you have as a comeback and that's pretty sad, kiddo. And for one my car isn't a ricer. If it were a ricer... It would have some gay lookin' body kit on it with some ugly lookin' decals all over it and a fart can aka a coffee can as a tailpipe.
My Eclipse is stock everything except for my mods (built motor pushing 12lbs of boost now). I can beat a stock GSX easily. So please Mr Gaylord. Be quiet
dude your car sucks dick compared to my 96 z28 that is pushing a little over 400 hp next time you talk smack on someone elses car make sure your car is good and not a shit heap
Oh, I'm sorry you spoiled/rich bastard. Clearly I have all the money in the world to do everything I want to my car. I'm fuckin' damn proud of what I have done with my car up to this point. I spend a good deal saving up for my shit so fuck off.
Budget boost...I like your setup! Thats a hellova way to save money over buying a worn/beat on GS-T or GSX. Good stuff dude! Post more vids of your setup :D
Hey faggot. Why is your name Naruto? I guess you're a nerd. Don't call it a ricer when you know NOTHING about my car. For your information that video has a FULL 2.5 inch exhaust and CIA. And about a month ago it now has a Garret T3/t4 turbo .50 trim, 38mm wastegate, 12:1 FMU, FPR, 255lph fuel pump, FMIC, 8lbs of boost. Now.... Do you have anything like that? Don't think so nerd.
lol no i got the head fixed and here what is was there was water in the gas makid itdo that so i basicly repladethe hard and gasket 4 nuttin but i tell you what u got a sweet ride there don't sell it
Dang that sucks, bro. You have a lot of carbon build up in there? I drove back to college and seafoamed it again, and I smoked out the neighborhood with the 007 driveby smokescreen, haha.

You can get it at your local Autozone. And how? You can browse through the comments here and I explained it to a dude. Don't spin a bearing dude.

krazykustomsonline and dsmtuners and 2GNT.
krazykustomsonline you can search for your header and cat back system.
dsmtuners and 2GNT are sites where you can research your car. I spent alot of time in those forums.
Good luck with your GS.

Hey, I've got an Eclipse GS as well, 1997.
I have 1/3 a can of seafoam left as I added some to my oil and gas tank.
Is it true you're supposed to let the PCV line suck up the seafoam?
StevenWyman 3 years ago
Well, I've got a 1996 RS. (Turbo now)
I used the vacuum line that goes from the intake manifold to the valve cover and that worked just fine. And yes just let your engine run and suck up the seafoam. It has about 120,000 miles on it or so.
I just changed out my spark plugs 3 days ago, to NGK G-Power Platinum.
So, do I take the end of the vacuum line off of the throttle body, or the end that comes off the intake?
Also someone told me it might be a good idea to run the car 500 miles before changing the oil.
