ok need your help. i followed your guild and it works dxdiag tests the 3d for directx 8/9 and they both run very smooth. but when i go to play a game like bf2 it opens and i get a black screen then closes and thats it... i have windows xp pro sp3 running in virtualbox 3.2.0 in ubuntu 8.10, 3d is on in the setting i have directx9.c installed and flashplayer installed. also windows has 123 mb video ram and 600mb normal ram.

and i can't launch windows movie maker and i can't rewiew my screensaver it says something About direct3D i need your help because if you know HOW TO ENABLE THE DIRECT3D ACCELERATION!!!! please help

@HehShadow You might need to reinstall nVidia drivers or simply update them, problem can occur if you have recently updated your kernel but haven't updated the drivers.. You need to do it, if you have installed nvidia kernel mod using a package manager.

Other option is to uninstall the old packages and install nVidia driver by generic install file provided on nVidia's download page. To make the installer work you might need to install essential build packages and kernel headers too.

Hey guys, my Direct3d interface 7 (first step) fails. It says its out of memory, anything i can do about this? Also when i look at the directx files the d3d8-9 are older versions, is that correct?

VBox it self using WineD3D..

and that does not support DX7, However there are very few applications now which uses DX7

click start menu>run>type dxdiag>go to display tab>enable your direct draw.... TADA!!! done

WTF! please help when i downloaded halo combat evolved and lauched the game it said

"a problem occurred initializing directdraw. hardware acceleration maybe disabled" please tell me how to do this!!

Have you followed the How-To? see the url in description..

and

right click to your desktop >> properties >> setting >> Advanced >> Troubleshoot ..

Make sure you have hardware acceleration slider at full.

How do you test with dxdiag??? I have got virtualbox3 + 3D accélération activate on my linux, drivers installed in the windows XP virtualised and i can t clic on the test directx.
