  • Virginian by the grace of God!

  • Incredible song. Thank you so very much for this introduction to it. Your edit actually enhances an already wonderful audio track. Very, very grateful. This is exactly what Virginia has meant to me. Thankful for a poet with a heartfelt love of my adopted Commonwealth.

  • Virginia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Co D, 49th Virginia Infantry

  • Thank you for uploading this beautiful song. Deo Vindice.

  • I live in Texas but over half of my ancestors came through Virginia upon arriving to America. Many of them fought for Virginia in the American Revolution and the Confederacy. I am proud of that. I've never been to Virginia but I want to.

  • 27th Virginia Company G Shriver Greys.......Sic Semper Tyrannas!

  • nice! good job on the video! my school is singing this for their civil war themed performance. i'm teaching the younger kids how to sing it! (i'm kind of a veteran in the middle school teaching the elementary school since iv'e done it one before. it's a k-8 program)

  • As long as there are people in it's borders Virginia shall last forever.

  • 4 years ago in my dance recital a group danced to this song. i have been searching for it since that day i am so happy i found this! thanks for making it

  • This was very historical and touching. I have lived in NY all my life but have vacationed three times in Virginia. I have to say that the natural beauty is breathtaking and has won my heart. The native Virginians are warm and friendly. I also wrote a song about Virginia. It is a funny song about my first encounter with a bear. It;s on YouTube. it is called, "I Love Virginia, but Virginia don't love me." I gave this video a 5 star.

  • The song was composed by Frank Wildhorn.

  • God Bless Dixie

  • yea i am a reenactor and from virginia and this is possibly the greatest video on the face of the earth, DEO VINDICE

  • Thank you!

  • where did u find the song? cuz i have tried to and cannot find it

  • It was part of a stage musical called "For the Glory" which played in Gettysburg a few years ago. The musical was since renamed "The Civil War" which makes it hard to find the soundtrack because SO MANY things have that name! I can't post links here in the comments section but if you go to Amazon and search for "The Civil War (1998 Studio Cast) [CAST RECORDING]" you will find it.

  • Most of the songs are pretty forgettable, but this one is so stunning that it was worth the price of buying the entire 2-disc set. Easily.

  • thank u

  • @csaboy27

Virginians and Texans are the most proud of their states. Texans are more up front about it, Virginians just kind of know their superiority inside :)

  • Absolutely beautiful. Deo Vindice!

  • Wow! Such a beautiful, tear-filled tribute to old Virginia. Champion of the Revolution and champion of the South!

  • Virgina! Virgina! Vrigina!
