i played the fucking shit out of the first game when i was a little kid. i swear i beat it like 20 times. the first 8 times or so i found new stuff you're able to do. then the rest was just for fun. i dont get how it has such bad reviews if its like the first game, maybe people just dont know good games anymore and think everything has to be something new. why fix things that arent broken?

@1996jay The world is small yes..I think there are about 8 or 9 areas to go in the whole game..nut believe me everytime you play it you'll find something new..there are thenty endings to find..So it has a great replay value..it gets repetitve sometimes yes..but this will not bother you really..there are tons of things to do..collect MANY weapons..create many weapons..yeah..also the fights are really good..the animation is one of the best i've seen..it's worth the time and money you'll spend..

You can play when you beat it. It ends that certain story but you can bring in your same character and start a different story. You never lose your character.

See I kept seeing all kinds of written reviews for this game. I was a fan of the first 2, but was sketchy about this one cause of the bad reviews but you def swayed me towards getting this one. Great review, really laid back. How did you record just the screen gameplay?
@preacherZer0 Excellent so far. But after a while you'll probably realize that the Nobunaga event is inevitable and there's only so much you can do with story lines. Nothing too dynamic. Not enough other unique plot characters, not enough unique weapons and the area is way too small. The map is barely bigger than 2's, if it is at all. I love Way of the Samurai, but they seriously didn't do enough with this. It's a relatively short and simple game.
@welcomegohome You're right, I've pretty much discovered that now.I'm still playing though... all my play throughs are now dedicated to mastering the draw style and creating the ultimate draw sword for when I unlock OHK mode.
It does have quite a few flaws, but it's still a great little game.
@preacherZer0 Once I realized that you gain a certain amount of points just leaving the map, I kept doing that to unlock new outfits and accessories. Then after that, all I did was make money to buy scrolls and master new swords. Then... I dunno, this game just grew on me really fast. I really wanted more out of it. The soundtrack is also kind of lame. I really hope they TRY to make 4 better than the others. Bigger too. The environment is so small.

@blakeuro1981 the thing with both this game and its prequel is that the story is evolved in very specific ways. Either you find those out by accident (as I did for WotS 2) or get a walkthrough online. In any case, the claimed 22 endings pretty much don't require you to do any jobs at all. So basically, you run from story-scene A to B. You CAN do jobs at the side to earn money... but you don't have to.
Seriously looks like PS2 graphics... gameplay is awesome as expected, but sadly, graphic wise; you'd think they could've stepped things up for the 360. But they didn't. Not at all.
@Yarrbetchyarr I agree, about 30min into the game I found myself too into it to care. We need more samurai/feudal Japan games these days!! Seriously, isn't it about time for a feudal Japan MMO? One that's historically accurate, maybe structured a little like WoW, with different clans instead of races, or maybe go ronin. I'm longing for a game like that...

@sparda74 here is a trick you can buy the duel weilding ability. go to the takatane village on days 5-9 and talk to the little shop dude and you can buy duel scroll and it come with ninja duel too.
what really suck is that u dont have a mini map man, u always gotta press start and go to map and memorize. This game has many diffrent endings depending on what u do/say/go and thats what makes it a unique and fun game to go with . So i defiantly recommend this game for yall.
Never played 2nd one. I've had this game for about 2 weeks now. Quite nice. The Good would be: Many different weapons with nice skills. A pretty good soundtrack like the first one. Personally the graphics work very well. You get a lot of freedom. Many choices and branching story. High Customization. Day-N-Night transition. The Bad: Camera can f-up your moves. Environment may be larger but still feels small. Difficult to make things happen without using Map Events wait for you over and over.

Don't get me wrong Ninja Gaiden is awesome & all but you have to follow the path they give you as to where WOTS3 you can create your own. Besides it's a great way to give a rest on those shooting game.

After completing the game, players will retain the weapons, items, parts they obtained, money, as well as physical stats, learned skills and techniques for future replays.
Based on what they did in the game, players will receive an end-game title and Samurai Points. There are 50 different titles, ranging from "No Body" to "Samurai Forever!". The total Samurai Points are used to unlock secrets, heads, clothes, and abilities.
Way of the Samurai 3focuses heavily on sword combat. There are over 100 weapons in the game,[6]including swords, spears,[6]and even some joke weapons like sticks, green onion, tuna, brooms, and hoes. i think you should buy a ps3 slim as blu-ray players are still quite expensive and for a bit more money u get all the extra features of a ps3, also if u do get one i surgest getting both the uncharted games as those games are really good

Mine came in the mail from Amazon the other day. I love it! I'm a huge fan of the first two so I'm glad they came out with the third in North America.
I hate apologizing at cutscenes because it makes it act as if the cutscene never happened.
I died at one point because a little girl kicked me, LOL! I was glad I saved a little earlier. :P
