I was sort of with you until Crank. I have not seen the other films on this list. I have Children of Men and Crank. Crank is so average though. I agree with Children of Men but calling Crank a masterpiece is insane. It's just non stop action for 2 hours. How is that a masterpiece. That's like having a 2 hour death scene in a horror movie. It's fine for a while until you see there is no story and all the characters are terrible. So.... no There WIll Be Blood, but Crank is a masterpiece?? OK.

I'm making note of the three I haven't seen: Dead Man's Shoes, Chopper, and Crank. I suspect your positive reviews are 'culturally adept' in terms of the reality factor: disturbing and intelligent films--where human fallibility is still meaningful and raw--like 'Breaking Bad'.

'Children of Men'--Great... but tired of apocalypse themes. Will humanity survive? Silly question. Is there hope? Take a philosophy class. Read 'The Stand'--uncut. Is humanity worth saving? Hmm--is Clive Owen single?

Thanks for the non-traditional line-up and honesty. Glad to see 'Brokeback' and 'There Will be Blood' dismissed--finally... I fell asleep before the blood arrived. Yawn.

Battle Royal is an interesting inclusion--I enjoyed 95% of it--seriously, genuinely enjoyed the grand majority of it. Which is why the last cheesy 5% pissed all over the movie. I have no interest in cheesy teen-love BS after a kiddie massacre. This film was an inch away from greatness--an inch full of piss-poor judgment.
