I am hoping that someone can detail the electrical sequence ( in frequencies ) for the sequence of operations for a CARRIER WEATHERMAKER 8000 TS furnace. This is a category 1 and high efficient . Thanx so much !!!
Your the man. I went to RSI in AZ and after 16,000 dollars I could not explain this sequence of operations. I'm no dummy, I build stroker engines and have for years college. The school just sucked. Thanks for these videos.
how do you clean out the gas line tube if there doesn't seem to be gas getting to the pilot light. I had a heating/cooling guy do it once before but I didn't see what he did.
I'm not sure if I have a problem or not. Is it normal for the inducer to continuously run at the same time as the blower? My inducer runs entirely through the whole cycle and the vent seems hotter then the air ducts. I have a Carrier 58pav. Thanks
Good narrative. The pressure switch closes almost instantly when the inducer starts up. The delay in the call for the hot surface ignitor is caused by the pre-purge period. There is also a post-purge period for the inducer when the call for heat is satisfied.
Ok quick question my mom had a Bryant 2 stage furnace witch was a 90% efficiency was put in in 1996, She just had it replaced with a Train 96% efficiency because the Bryant was undersized for the home, not to mention it had almost had every single part replaced in it and she was sick of servicing it. The Bryant only had one pressure witch the Train has two now. Why dident the Bryant have 1 pressure switch if it was a 2 stage furnace? Just wondering?
@kisssfan I have Trane furnace, when I first turned it on, the igniter will glow and the injet burner will fired up but after it goes off, it will not start again. The blower is running, the inducer is running, and the igniter will glow but burner will NOT start. The module light is not flashing at all. Will you help please?
@dvb5150 I just want to say thank you for your respond sir. I've replaced gas valve and it solves the problem. The problem was with the silenoid malfunction. Thanks again brother!

@pissed1000 .. you don't need to know the sequence in frequency .. although all American electronic frequency is 60hz
bblazeff1 2 months ago
You are correct but what did ya do, read the sequence out of a manual? Lol .. explain the sequence on the control voltage for a heat pump .. ?

No wonder Carrier's suck.... just look at how that p.o.s. is made!

Please let me know what I missed in the order of things, no one is perfect especially me! You identified many of these things. Thanks for posting.
1.Door Switch 2.Limit switch 3.Transformer 4.Thermostat 5.Relay load 6.Relay switch 7.Vent motor 8.Pressure switch 9.Flame rollout switch 10. Vent safety switch 11.Control Module 12. Hot surface igniter 13. Main valve 14. Main burner 15.Flame sensor 16. Fan control switch 17. Circulating blower

Well, there was the starting sequence, ignition, but where Is the liftoff?

i thought resistance through the ignitor would energize the gas valve

Thanks how about a close up of each module ie control board, inducer fan etc

way to read from a manual ya big dummy...

@chaandrob Whether or not he was just reading it from a manual, you have to admit you learned something, which is the point for this video.

doesnt the control board make sure the igniter is lit before opening the gas valve? or it dont matter

How old is the Carrier 58GP model furnace? and what is its effiency %?

Carrier Model 58STA. Probably about 10 years old.
I will try to video a couple more troubleshoots soon.

Why do some furnaces have two pressure sensors?
25HNA6 3 years ago
It is a 2 stage furnace. They have 2 pressure switches.

It could have had a single speed draft inducer, with a 2 stage gas valve.
some furnaces have two heat exchangers, some have half the heat exchanger fire, some have the whole heat exchanger fire but with less fuel.
subcooledheatpump 3 years ago
I was wrong.
Just uses one pressure switch to determine that the draft inducer is atleat running at minimum speed.

How come some gas valves have a vacuum line conected to them that then conects to the closed burner compartment on the high efficiency furnaces?
