I'm from The South--Tennessee--and I sound nothing like this. In fact, if I sounded like this, I would have to shoot myself. I've never understood the whole Southern dialect thing, when no one I know seems to have it. :\ And that wasn't sarcasm.

On the TV show "In the Heat of the Night", all the Southern accents seemed to vary from "barely there" to as thick as you can imagine, which pretty much matches my experiences in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Tennessee again. As for "thin tires", a pothole can mess up a regular tire rather severely.
