Look at the Beatles who copied all of the American R&B and Rock & Roll artists of the 1950's. England wasn't in a bubble ya know. Besides Jones was a fan of Darin, Martin and other acts from that era. They even made him up to look like one of those singers on the cover of his debut album, in 1965!
