This guy is fantastic, i try to fill my life with meaning and for me that means interacting with original thinkers and this man has captured my imagination.
@meetKEL There is a clip, I'm sorry to say I don't know the title but in it talks about teaching his own baby how to communicate with him even before talking just using light bulbs, really interesting if you can find it
I live in the UK but I would love to go over to the states and do a tour of TVP. Is it something that he does regularly?? if someone could get back to me about it I would appreciate it. Thanks.
work is perception. I am a single parent and do work around the house. But, as society has a preconceived notion that a man not working is lazy they rarely form the opinion that I am not lazy. They have no perception of the work performed that they cannot see as they cannot measure my worth. I measure my worth as very capable and full of ideas. A few others see me that way but I am certain the majority think me to be lazy.

Why do all the ZTM still bow down to PJ when in actual fact, it should be the amazingly knowledgeable, talented and uniquely passionate Jacque Fresco? What has PJ actually done? Expose the "obvious" to millions? Jacque has the "Answers" NOT PJ! It should be Jacque and Roxanne who need the help to make this World a better place for everyone to live in; because what has PJ got to offer? "Wake-UP!" and give all your support to "The Venus Project" That's if you "Want" a better future?
This has some excellent thoughts . I do have a question . Where i live people make a lot of things , art , quilts , pottery , crafts , tools , soaps and so on . Even a beautifully crafted washcloth is a thing of beauty . People like to make these things - I make a wide variety of things myself . I give them away as gifts . I do not see where we would be in this vision .
sry i can't see your point...in a ressource based economie you are free of handlabour and repetitious jobs so you can spend your time on the things you like to. go back to school study what you are intrested in or do creative work as a painter or singer or develop tools that are useful. YOU are the one who choose what you like to do.
I agree and disagree with what he is saying. Yes, society controles its polulation in order to keep its power but it also does it in order to try and protect. Yes, socities as we know them are corrupted and fail but what is there to stop his from doing the same. All societies come and go, and all societies have faults even his would have them nothing is perfected.
in today's societies you have fixed rules and you make decisions. In his society thats not the case it's not fixed it adjusts to the new knowledge and new circumstances. We have loyalty on the earth and everyone on it so we arive at our decisions in order to benefit all people. And this decision will be the best decision based on what we know today. Then we test it and if it works it's allright. if it fails we try a new one.
I have always been fan of how Jacque explains things. Jacque's a funny guy to. The way he puts things sometimes are so funny. I'm surprised he doesn't try to fund the project through stand up comedy. He could! I can tell he's very funny.
Must be why im kinda different, they never succeeded in pumping much crap in my head when i was young.. Well, relatively speaking. We're all encultured to some degree, obviously
@CrazyBB36 You might think it's impossible, but what happens in reality is another thing. Corporations have big profit incentives to use machines, kiosks, and other non-human labor to save them money. They are digging their own graves because when technology becomes dominant--where will the human labor force get the money to buy products? clothes? any of it? Money deletes itself. Jacque is telling you that is a system that had to exist due to scarcity. With nanotech and other forms money is gone
The scenes of Jacque wandering around, picking up models and pointing at other fantastical aspects of his plan...you really need to include the audio as if you haven't actually heard him explaining these, he just appears another madman. This "hardware", it's all possible right now and there are very few leaps in technology needed to realise his dreams. It's only money, and the systems built around it, that hold US back.
Part of this reminded me of my childhood. After watching Men in Black with Will Smith, I told my mom I wish I was black, because of some reason which I can't remember.
She says; "No you don't. *explains to me about the KKK, discrimination, etc*"
My end question to my mom is: "Why does all this happen?"
all this "remove the monetary system" propaganda is crap. This venus project is pure idealism. The monetary system is backed up by the law just to keep people from taking more than what they need . Think of it this way,if there was no measure of how much a person could get for himself of "something" ,then everyone would try to take for themselves more than it's necesary. It would be chaos. It's like saying the world will be a batter place when everyone will be stop being selfish.
@pulifric Please pardon the trolling. Everyone TRIES to take for themselves more than is necessary. Greed is most oft committed by the poor not the top 1% who control 20% of the wealth (something like that).
@shizzleman8 Fuck me, what have you been reading? Top 1% in America alone own 40% of world's wealth and resources and those people are the one who wage wars and monopolies around the world so everything gets fucked up even more. You say poor are greedy more than them? Is it greed to -want something you lack- the very basics in most cases? Geez.
@pulifric That's kinda the point. Yes, this is would be an extremely difficult lifestyle to adopt for the human race but that's exactly what it is, a lifestyle. You have to change the way you think before you can make progress. If the environment conditioned humans to work as a whole, why would they steal? It would be against the common goal of bettering everyone's (and everything's) life. We only have the the mind-frames and tendencies (like greed) because we have been conditioned that way.
What we need is technology that is as Tesla said "in step with nature" & enhancing of biology. Keeley figured out how to harness the energy of sympathetic resonance...using the same forces that nature is built on...that is our only sustainable future. I fully support VP & hope this is considered as part of their research Thx for posting. (find Dale Pond q & a vids for more info on Keeleys work.)
It takes back breaking labor to build all of that and it takes more labor to mantain it,and it takes more labor to improve it.Same old game. Now of course you may want to be on the supervisor side or the organizer or the director position or whatever the top position may be called. If you take your vehicle to the carwash so that others will clean it for you, your chances on making it in a world with out slavery are quite slim.
@LOPIZKY You have to realize that building most of these structures will utlize machines as well. So very little or no human labor would be needed. Besides, most people would contribute their efforts to build towards a system that actually took CARE of their needs and enviromentally safe in the long run. I know I would put my time and effort to such a undetaking.
BTW most carwashes are automatic, another example of human labor replaced by technology.
Jack is frikkin incredible. The guy is 94 yo, correct me if I'm wrong, the guy has seen more history than any of us. He has seen what has worked and what hasn't, he knows better than anyone around today of how society should be run because he has seen our mistakes with his own eyes. This guy is not insane like some idiotics think, he is incredibly knowledgable.
Im waiting to hit the lottery BIG so I can back this guy in making his dreams a reality. I would LOVE to live in one of his "cities". I would love a society where everyone is equal and there is no money system. His building plans are beautiful and creative! I don't know why those in power haven't already adopted this.
It's obvious that movies such as Terminator and Blade Runner has completely skewed our perception on what technology can do. It's for one impossible for any form of technology to, in a sense, "get a mind of it's own" it's just not possible. A computer can only be as smart as the human we can use computers to manage things that would otherwise be more stressful or time consuming that's about it, it can never "turn" on us and can still be environment friendly
@tmac9938 It's already started, it's just so buried. We aren't rioting on the streets, we're generating the new-value social systems in the background. Look up SharingUniverse and other Venus Project-based sharing sites. Those, along with DIY hackerspheres and online universities are where the revolution is happening.
@Lakopa8 Just googled your recommendations, and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about? Clue please? I found one forum, it had been discontinued. Thanks, sorry to bother.
@tmac9938 There is no need for a revolution. This must be a peaceful transition. There just needs to be a complete "leave" from the current system. The best revolution we can do is to go on literally a strike and not go to work. David Icke, Peter Joseph and other enlightened speakers advocate just that.
@GLaMpuNKeR Sadly, the current system won't allow that. If I just stop going to work, I will soon die. If I protest that I want a world without money, social stratification, war and poverty, most people around would just laugh at me saying I want a dreamworld. They just don't understand. We need to make them understand! We have to spread awareness, show Fresco's work to them, explain to them, that RBE is no Utopia, it's not a perfect system... it's just a lot better than what we have now...
@doghaven1 Why is shit such a bad word to you? Let's get to the root of the word "shit" and why you can't listen to someone who's done more research than both of us combined =D, who uses that word =D.
I think only one thing can make this real, actually one invention to be more precise.. Someone need to invent a particle printer, this could use already existing particles and combine them into atoms and molecules etc. to make actual materials this could be made by reusing particles from waste materials, A whole mechanisms could be printed, you need a new computer you take your old computer place it as ink press few buttons and here you have a brand new computer, if you understand what i mean.
@systemaddictshock Thats the first thing that came to my mind. I think it's because they are both old, but very intelligent, telling us about all the bullshit in this world.
It would be naive to believe that technology makes for a better world, yet there are many tribes out there that are still untouched by modern man and it's cold hand of technology. I'm not an animal, so sleeping in a mudhole doesn't appeal to me, but the idea of a home that's 100% natural does. I can still have furnature, fire, clothes and medicines that aren't artificially made. The metals and plastics used in your utopia are still harmful to the environment and it's children.
@Galacticavatar I can only recommend you learn much much more about this system because I'm sure you would like it if you really understood what it is about. One main point of all of this is to protect the environment and people from any kind of dangerous material like you have today.
I would propose inputting industrial hemp as a building material to aid in the venus project. It would aid greatly towards a resource based economy that is not driven by monetary profit.
@Galacticavatar So go and build a home yourself in the nature. only reason you dont do it is because you rely so badly on machines and you dont even know it. technology makes this an easier world. the world as we live in today is corrupted, so thats probably another reason for you to blame technology for bad theives.
@Galacticavatar the reaason he wont, is because people arent even able to talk about this topic in our current situation. People dont even want to stop for a second and consider looking out in to the blue sky, to see where we are.We assume we know how the universe works, how solar system is in an ever lasting balance and we are NOT the center of everything, but our social conduct wont allow us to really think about it. We are swarmed by such bullshit in our daily lives he wants to break it first
@Galacticavatar The thing that Jacque Fresco should stress is that it's NOT a utopia. Also you can't just look at technology as mechanical things. Technology is any tool used to make your life easier or more comfortable. The shirt that you wear when discarded is harmful to the environment. We should be freed to work on the finer, more important things in life. Interaction with the world meaning people animals plants whatever. And make art.
On another note. I understand your concern about the environment. I am very concerned myself. But it is naive to think we can all just go back to no metals. plus we can derive plastics from plants grown in hydroponic systems... Preferably hemp based . But the point of all this tech is to improve the environment not destroy. These ideas are far better than anything we implement now. Would you not agree? Plus I know you like you computer.
It's not as if there aren't bio-platics or other eco-friendly options for construction. Technology, clearly does have the ability to impact the world for the better if used in the correctly which is what Jacque an activist for. This is especially important for a society reliant on tech. to take in to consideration. It has well been proven that environmental characteristics have an significant impact on the people who live in them, for example country life vs. city (2 different enviornments).
My only problem with the Venus Project is that there's too much technology. Electronic this, automated that. You'd need to continue destroying the earth just to build more unnatural things, which is no better than what the world is doing now.
My idea of Eden is to "de-evolve". Go back to living in huts, tree-based domiciles, Hobbit holes, whatever. Mankind wasn't meant to live in skyscrapers or ugly ass buildings. Live like the Children of the Earth we are! Live life the natural way.
@Galacticavatar then you might think about throwing away your clothes, computer, electric lights, heater and air conditioner, vehicle. And don't ever go to a doctor or take any medicine. I have to wonder how long you would really last. Think about how the things that have really made your life better; ALL technology. No one would be coerced to live in the cities or homes anywhere in TVP's designs, they are all available to you. But if you prefer to live in a hole, they'll help you dig it.
@thevenusprojectmedia I don't know whose writing this stuff...if it's Jacque or Roxanne...but you have a hell of a way of making a point! I wish I could talk about this like you do.
@Galacticavatar Why would you want to regress? Technology such as phones, computers, air conditioning, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, cars, airplanes, advanced medical procedures, just to name a few have made mans lives easier. Why would you want to revert back to back breaking manual labor? Science & Technology if applied in a humane matter according to what The Venus Project advocates can help transform the Earth and it's inhabitants to a more sustainable life.
@Galacticavatar Your on the right track, but living with out technology is obviously not the answer and obviously not possible, you think people would ever go back to that? The answer is obviously technology in harmony with nature, this technology would not destroy the earth, the focus is always to reduce waste, reuse and recycle materials, eventually there would be no waste under this system once technology gets there...
You too can live in a natural way, with technology harmonized with the surrounding environmental settings, you want to go back in time for what? If we have and can do better than that, you do not just this, technology is a tool, there is no need to fear the tacnologia.
You should learn more about the technology, you understand that it only serves to give us better life than we currently have, but of course, the technology in the monetary system only serves to complicate our lives, we must remosver world money for the technology is used for useful purposes and not for profits or business itself.
If we divide all the world and using technology to ensure the right conditions, we only have to gain from it. We have to rely more on real facts and not on false science. Human society, technology, and through environmental settings must be harmonized, that is the direction.
The speech demonstrates how you still have to learn more about the project, and I ask you, try to learn as much as possible, you only have to gain by it, do not you stay in ignorance. It makes no sense to walk back, if we have everything to go forward.
I agree with you 100%, people in hunter and gatherer tribes are much more happier and less stressed. But I feel we're so deep in the rabbit hole to go back to that without a sort of apocalypse. The Venus Project, or something similar to it seems to be the more something we are heading towards, likely not in OUR lifetime, but eventually I can see this happening.
@Galacticavatar Galactica is having a hard time getting past I, Robot and the The Matrix. it's that Hollywood bone being chased at the god races. If we weren't meant to live in skyscrapers---we do and it's part of our evolution. We are just coming out of a world based on scarcity and this is no longer true. We hold onto our past memories, but reality keeps moving on. By the way Eden was never real. If you lived back in the Stone Age you would have to hustle your ass 24/7 just to survive.
Nope. False. Industrial Hemp has got that covered. It is an amazing building material and will eliminate the need for plastic and other ways of living. We can live in a bio friendly techonolgical era. And industrial hemp is an amazing building material.
I like Jacque, he has good ideas. But I disagree that big fish eating smaller fish or floods drowning people is pure chaos. Isn't that the way nature works and maintains itself? My understanding is that nature exists in a balance, and it is supposed to work in a way that reestablishes new ways when things become out of balance. As a species we have created science and technology and used them to evade nature and become more powerful than it, but we shouldn't ignore the nature of nature itself.
To talk about it, and organize information about what to do about this project vist vpforums.webs.com Civilization has just begun, we must take on the everlasting responsibility to make it. Look forward to hearing from you in the future.
My question is very simple is there a chance at seeing this DVD set online at youtube or any other vlog website. I'm very suportive of the movment and wuld like to see this tour. I live outside US and UK and don't realy have eny whay of purchesing this DVD set. BTW thanks for what your doing.
"Im trying to give you back your brain which they took away from you in schools trying to show you how the world works, and if you want a better world you have to get off your ass and make it better" - Jacque Fresco
I bought the book about a year ago but I find the descriptions on the Circular City unsatisfying. I want more details, how will everything work?
Its the same thing with his lectures, he says some very clever and true facts about human behaviour and society but i find the presentation of TVP not detailed enough.
@thevenusprojectmedia Where do I live? What if I dont like the domes, where do I turn for help building a new one? What decides WHO builds it for me? If I get hungry, where do I go? Are there resturants and do I have a fridge at home? How do I shop for food? What do I do with the wastes? At what age do you start school? Who decides the curriculum? Wont a circular cuty be too uniform to be nice to live in?
@ztawiz Where you want to live. Then don't choose a dome. Design your own with user friendly software 3D style & voice recognition. Machines supervised by Men & Women. Go to your kitchen. Restaurants, yes. Kitchen at home, yes. Order food online or pick up in person within 1/2 a mile. Wastes are recycled. Not sure what age. Curriculum is relative to times, state of progress, & what is of most interest. Circular may seem too uniform from an arial view only.
@DesignsThatMatter Thank you for the answers. Where did you learn all this? Its not all in his book. Idd like to know what materials are used since everything is recycable, what about batteries? The city is also self-sustaining, does that mean that once built, it wont require any more material, food, water etc from the outside?
You dont have to tell me all the answers, but I whould appriciate if you could tell me where to find them.
@ztawiz I had to do alot of searching for those answers. The early cities may not be 100% self sustaining, but close enough to eliminate most of the wasted energy, time, & resources being used. It would also put a stop to our polluted food supply. The recycle programs are clever and alot of how waste travels is designed beneath the ground. If you send me a friend request with a message I will try and send your a few clips where Jacque explains some of that stuff. -Take care.
@ztawiz It's sad to read.. even people looking into this are still inflicted with an entitlement mentality... It would help a great deal if instead of waiting for one person to give you the details, we take it upon ourselves to move thru the learning curve and sharing our finds along the way...
@ztawiz It's sad to read.. even people looking into this are still inflicted with an entitlement mentality... It would help a great deal if instead of waiting for one person to give the details, we take it upon ourselves to move thru the learning curve and sharing our finds along the way...
@causic Doesnt that learning curve include asking people where to find information? Do you have a problem with that? I just read his book and it didnt contain the information I was looking for.
@ztawiz Visit his website. There can be meetings on what is to be done, on-line as in chats, and group meetings, but on-line is just much easier to bring people together.
@Juefawn Ive been to a few Zeitgeist meetings but all they do is activism. Im more intressted in learning about technology and applying it to solve our problems.
@ztawiz The Video "Our Technical Reality" made by TVPBigstellguy focuses on the technologies available today. Mostly to do with transport, food and energy. Then maybe search about in the Fresco interviews, he explains a few of his technical ideas, like moving buildings with water pressure, or extrusion. For other technological possibilities you have to search from other sources as its not Fresco's research. Hydroponics, 0point energy, nanotech, ETT, quantem computing, permaculture etc. Good luck
@ztawiz it would take a semster in a classroom with professof Fresco to see the full scope and scale of how the sustaniable city works. There is alot of things about technology that are assumed by Fresco that alot of people dont know anything of.
@doodlemm that's not about what YOU or ME hate, it's about efficiency, safety, resource preservation and comfort. All of that ego is pumped to us. Every architect today is a stupid ignorant scumfuck because he's looking at his ego and what HE can present (beautiful colors of buildings, the highest building in the world and all of that childish bullshit). You design buildings to be thermitproof, fireproof, earthquakeproof and comfortable. Not to be "the best".
What the project really needs is a community Wiki. I'm certain you already know about Wikipedia. Are you also aware of WikiVersity and WikiBooks?
Think about what a wiki on the Venus Project contributed to and maintained by everyone and it being moderated by members of the project could accomplish.
Not everyone is as well knowledgeable, passionate enough, ad open minded as I am. You must be open minded to the necessity to change the way you present The Venus Project. Not everyone does their homework. They have families and other duties and interests. It might be time to rethink how The Venus Project is presented on the website.
@manilaenglish i think i understand what your saying, im not sure if i agree on all of it though because many come into the direction through many different ways . The social aspect is obviously critical with the designs as supportive infrastructure that enables us to achieve it. i don't think the timing is right to change the website until jacque and roxanne get back from the tour which is october. i'll look at it with roxanne when she gets back . you can also email her on it if you like.
@thevenusprojectmedia And that will give me more time to re-exam the website and reflect more. If people watch a lot of videos before going to TVP website then they're going to be more receptacle. But if they haven't seen any videos and a friend just says check out The Venus Project ........
Another part of me feels like the website is just 1 part of all the tools and so it doesn't matter as there are other websites springing up now (like Zeitgeist & TVPDesign) and lots of videos.
The Venus Project website should be updated not to highlight Jacques personal beliefs of what is technologically possible but to highlight the philosophy of The Venus Project.
@manilaenglish it's about the whole integrated system; the value system as well as the efficient infrastructures and cities that make the project tenable. without either it would not work.
@thevenusprojectmedia That's right However, The Venus Project website mainly focuses on the structures. I don't think that's the best way to present TVP to people who might just first be willing to look at an alternative to the capitalist system. You have to present the whole argument. From what I remember of the website, it jumps straight to structures and gives very little information at all to anything else. Most think "structures that build themselves" not yet achievable; a pipe dream today
@thevenusprojectmedia Now I know that's not where we begin but rather the end goal. Most people who have never heard of the Venus Project and who are skeptical as they should be will see the Venus Project as I did, as the drawings of a wildly imaginative 10 year old.
I know that the technology exists today to provide for everyones needs. After all, The USA census of 2002 specified that Agriculture at that time employed only 1.9% of the work force and its GDP made up a mere 0.7%.
This is the very best video you've posted thus far. In addition, I'd like to point out something you already know. Jacque says that the Venus Project is not about buildings and other structures, it's about a way of thinking. That is what I have been telling myself ever since I learned about TVP a few months ago. However, I almost didn't look more into TVP when I first looked up your website. It looks like a bunch of crap about things that don't exist. It really hurts TVP's credibility.
@UnluckyGambler there are programs that will allow you to download youtube videos to your computer. do a google search. maybe go to download.com. i have one called "youtube downloader". but there are many.
I admit; I had a very anti-atheistic, antiscientific attitude before watching this video. Jacque Fresco said three words, however, that clarified why I had previously felt that way.
"I don't know."
I realised I'm not opposed to atheism in general at all. What I'm truly opposed to, is an atheistic attitude which insists that we already know everything. This is wonderful material.
@petrus4 what the hell are you talking about? every religion has a holy book that already had "the answers" to "everything" we ever wanted to know. are you not aware that religion is the sole driving force of ignorance now?
legitimate scientist: "i don't know the answer to that; let's do an experiment to find out."
christian "scientist": "we already know the answer to that; it's in genesis chapter X verse Y-Z"
@petrus4 I would like to tell you as an atheist myself (am even an anti-theist), that an atheist claims he doesn't know. Atheists don't believe in a god because the claims have no proof. They can't know for sure that there is no God, but there is no evidence suggesting its existence. The only absolute certainty is that there are none.
Also: anti-theists believe that organized religion is detrimental to humanity and is bad for the believer himself.

I want to build a bldg like Jacques and put it on Hwy frontage property so people can see it and build a similar bridge across an acre pond. Does anyone else want to do the same? I wonder about the costs....will be contacting Jacque.
@joe24fanIam Well, All religions are entrenched power structures, so how does that not fit into the big picture that he's talking about? Religion is learned just like everything else & the people doing the teaching have their positions to protect, so the odds are high that they will do/say what they have to in order to keep their positions. Like politics, it is a game of popularity & confidence. If you seriously examine the claims religions make, you begin to see them for what they are.
This guy is fantastic, i try to fill my life with meaning and for me that means interacting with original thinkers and this man has captured my imagination.

We have loyalty on the earth and everyone on it so we arive at our decisions in order to benefit all people. And this decision will be the best decision based on what we know today. Then we test it and if it works it's allright. if it fails we try a new one.

@CrazyBB36 the monetary system is corrupt it will take itsself down by its self, we wait for now.. keep paying your taxes
TorresProductionz 3 months ago
@CrazyBB36 You might think it's impossible, but what happens in reality is another thing. Corporations have big profit incentives to use machines, kiosks, and other non-human labor to save them money. They are digging their own graves because when technology becomes dominant--where will the human labor force get the money to buy products? clothes? any of it? Money deletes itself. Jacque is telling you that is a system that had to exist due to scarcity. With nanotech and other forms money is gone
bullshit3118 3 months ago
The scenes of Jacque wandering around, picking up models and pointing at other fantastical aspects of his plan...you really need to include the audio as if you haven't actually heard him explaining these, he just appears another madman. This "hardware", it's all possible right now and there are very few leaps in technology needed to realise his dreams. It's only money, and the systems built around it, that hold US back.
Thank you for posting though ;-)

Part of this reminded me of my childhood. After watching Men in Black with Will Smith, I told my mom I wish I was black, because of some reason which I can't remember.
She says; "No you don't. *explains to me about the KKK, discrimination, etc*"
My end question to my mom is: "Why does all this happen?"
And she says: "I don't know."

all this "remove the monetary system" propaganda is crap. This venus project is pure idealism. The monetary system is backed up by the law just to keep people from taking more than what they need . Think of it this way,if there was no measure of how much a person could get for himself of "something" ,then everyone would try to take for themselves more than it's necesary. It would be chaos. It's like saying the world will be a batter place when everyone will be stop being selfish.

cooljazz8 4 months ago
@pulifric Please pardon the trolling. Everyone TRIES to take for themselves more than is necessary. Greed is most oft committed by the poor not the top 1% who control 20% of the wealth (something like that).
shizzleman8 4 months ago
@shizzleman8 Fuck me, what have you been reading? Top 1% in America alone own 40% of world's wealth and resources and those people are the one who wage wars and monopolies around the world so everything gets fucked up even more. You say poor are greedy more than them? Is it greed to -want something you lack- the very basics in most cases? Geez.
Casevil669 3 months ago
@pulifric That's kinda the point. Yes, this is would be an extremely difficult lifestyle to adopt for the human race but that's exactly what it is, a lifestyle. You have to change the way you think before you can make progress. If the environment conditioned humans to work as a whole, why would they steal? It would be against the common goal of bettering everyone's (and everything's) life. We only have the the mind-frames and tendencies (like greed) because we have been conditioned that way.

LOPIZKY 5 months ago
@LOPIZKY You have to realize that building most of these structures will utlize machines as well. So very little or no human labor would be needed. Besides, most people would contribute their efforts to build towards a system that actually took CARE of their needs and enviromentally safe in the long run. I know I would put my time and effort to such a undetaking.
BTW most carwashes are automatic, another example of human labor replaced by technology.

@tmac9938 There is no need for a revolution. This must be a peaceful transition. There just needs to be a complete "leave" from the current system. The best revolution we can do is to go on literally a strike and not go to work. David Icke, Peter Joseph and other enlightened speakers advocate just that.
GLaMpuNKeR 3 weeks ago
@GLaMpuNKeR Sadly, the current system won't allow that. If I just stop going to work, I will soon die. If I protest that I want a world without money, social stratification, war and poverty, most people around would just laugh at me saying I want a dreamworld. They just don't understand. We need to make them understand! We have to spread awareness, show Fresco's work to them, explain to them, that RBE is no Utopia, it's not a perfect system... it's just a lot better than what we have now...

We are swarmed by such bullshit in our daily lives he wants to break it first
yasileonhardt 9 months ago
@Galacticavatar The thing that Jacque Fresco should stress is that it's NOT a utopia. Also you can't just look at technology as mechanical things. Technology is any tool used to make your life easier or more comfortable. The shirt that you wear when discarded is harmful to the environment. We should be freed to work on the finer, more important things in life. Interaction with the world meaning people animals plants whatever. And make art.
blackpanther6389 8 months ago
@Gal Technically we are animals... Just saying.
CedWii360 7 months ago
It's not as if there aren't bio-platics or other eco-friendly options for construction. Technology, clearly does have the ability to impact the world for the better if used in the correctly which is what Jacque an activist for. This is especially important for a society reliant on tech. to take in to consideration. It has well been proven that environmental characteristics have an significant impact on the people who live in them, for example country life vs. city (2 different enviornments).
crgcrg1 6 months ago

pwih1987 3 months ago
My only problem with the Venus Project is that there's too much technology. Electronic this, automated that. You'd need to continue destroying the earth just to build more unnatural things, which is no better than what the world is doing now.
My idea of Eden is to "de-evolve". Go back to living in huts, tree-based domiciles, Hobbit holes, whatever. Mankind wasn't meant to live in skyscrapers or ugly ass buildings. Live like the Children of the Earth we are! Live life the natural way.
Galacticavatar 1 year ago
@Galacticavatar then you might think about throwing away your clothes, computer, electric lights, heater and air conditioner, vehicle. And don't ever go to a doctor or take any medicine. I have to wonder how long you would really last. Think about how the things that have really made your life better; ALL technology. No one would be coerced to live in the cities or homes anywhere in TVP's designs, they are all available to you. But if you prefer to live in a hole, they'll help you dig it.

Science & Technology if applied in a humane matter according to what The Venus Project advocates can help transform the Earth and it's inhabitants to a more sustainable life.
creamone 7 months ago
@Galacticavatar Your on the right track, but living with out technology is obviously not the answer and obviously not possible, you think people would ever go back to that? The answer is obviously technology in harmony with nature, this technology would not destroy the earth, the focus is always to reduce waste, reuse and recycle materials, eventually there would be no waste under this system once technology gets there...
BudDub67 6 months ago
@Galacticavatar
You too can live in a natural way, with technology harmonized with the surrounding environmental settings, you want to go back in time for what? If we have and can do better than that, you do not just this, technology is a tool, there is no need to fear the tacnologia.
TheVikingSoul 4 months ago
@Galacticavatar
You should learn more about the technology, you understand that it only serves to give us better life than we currently have, but of course, the technology in the monetary system only serves to complicate our lives, we must remosver world money for the technology is used for useful purposes and not for profits or business itself.
TheVikingSoul 4 months ago
@Galacticavatar
If we divide all the world and using technology to ensure the right conditions, we only have to gain from it. We have to rely more on real facts and not on false science. Human society, technology, and through environmental settings must be harmonized, that is the direction.
TheVikingSoul 4 months ago
@Galacticavatar
The speech demonstrates how you still have to learn more about the project, and I ask you, try to learn as much as possible, you only have to gain by it, do not you stay in ignorance. It makes no sense to walk back, if we have everything to go forward.
TheVikingSoul 4 months ago
@Galacticavatar
I agree with you 100%, people in hunter and gatherer tribes are much more happier and less stressed. But I feel we're so deep in the rabbit hole to go back to that without a sort of apocalypse. The Venus Project, or something similar to it seems to be the more something we are heading towards, likely not in OUR lifetime, but eventually I can see this happening.
supercoolsunday 4 months ago
@Galacticavatar Galactica is having a hard time getting past I, Robot and the The Matrix. it's that Hollywood bone being chased at the god races. If we weren't meant to live in skyscrapers---we do and it's part of our evolution. We are just coming out of a world based on scarcity and this is no longer true. We hold onto our past memories, but reality keeps moving on. By the way Eden was never real. If you lived back in the Stone Age you would have to hustle your ass 24/7 just to survive.

@DesignsThatMatter Thank you for the answers. Where did you learn all this? Its not all in his book. Idd like to know what materials are used since everything is recycable, what about batteries? @ztawiz I had to do alot of searching for those answers. The early cities may not be 100% self sustaining, but close enough to eliminate most of the wasted energy, time, & resources being used. What the project really needs is a community Wiki. I'm certain you already know about Wikipedia. Are you also aware of WikiVersity and WikiBooks?
Think about what a wiki on the Venus Project contributed to and maintained by everyone and it being moderated by members of the project could accomplish.
manilaenglish 1 year ago
Not everyone is as well knowledgeable, passionate enough, ad open minded as I am. You must be open minded to the necessity to change the way you present The Venus Project. Not everyone does their homework. They have families and other duties and interests. It might be time to rethink how The Venus Project is presented on the website.
You should talk about it as a community.
manilaenglish 1 year ago
@manilaenglish i think i understand what your saying, im not sure if i agree on all of it though because many come into the direction through many different ways . The social aspect is obviously critical with the designs as supportive infrastructure that enables us to achieve it. i don't think the timing is right to change the website until jacque and roxanne get back from the tour which is october. i'll look at it with roxanne when she gets back . you can also email her on it if you like.
thevenusprojectmedia 1 year ago
@thevenusprojectmedia And that will give me more time to re-exam the website and reflect more. If people watch a lot of videos before going to TVP website then they're going to be more receptacle. But if they haven't seen any videos and a friend just says check out The Venus Project ........
Another part of me feels like the website is just 1 part of all the tools and so it doesn't matter as there are other websites springing up now (like Zeitgeist & TVPDesign) and lots of videos.
manilaenglish 1 year ago
The Venus Project website should be updated not to highlight Jacques personal beliefs of what is technologically possible but to highlight the philosophy of The Venus Project.
You are free to disagree. That is my opinion.
manilaenglish 1 year ago
@manilaenglish it's about the whole integrated system; the value system as well as the efficient infrastructures and cities that make the project tenable. without either it would not work.
thevenusprojectmedia 1 year ago

@petrus4 much thanks for that, Jacque always talks about how learning to be flexible is a key thing to deal with the problems we all face.

@petrus4 anti atheistic?
gphhawkins 1 year ago
@petrus4 what the hell are you talking about? every religion has a holy book that already had "the answers" to "everything" we ever wanted to know. are you not aware that religion is the sole driving force of ignorance now?
legitimate scientist: "i don't know the answer to that; let's do an experiment to find out."
christian "scientist": "we already know the answer to that; it's in genesis chapter X verse Y-Z"

@petrus4 What atheistic attitude about knowing everything? I've never heard, or witnessed, such a thing and am genuinely curious as an atheist.

I love this video. It constantly makes you think and the music changes and clip sequence of Jacque's talk is captivating..
Lol...it gets your attention!

I enjoyed watching Jaque Fresco speaking so worldly. People can see he's no saint or anything.

@joe24fanIam As for the rest of it ...I agree.....
joe24fanIam 1 year ago
@joe24fanIam Well, All religions are entrenched power structures, so how does that not fit into the big picture that he's talking about? Religion is learned just like everything else & the people doing the teaching have their positions to protect, so the odds are high that they will do/say what they have to in order to keep their positions. Like politics, it is a game of popularity & confidence. If you seriously examine the claims religions make, you begin to see them for what they are.
