  • Buell the BEST! Thx for all

  • NOOOO!!!! no more firebolts...and i hoped they's stick the 1125 into the firebolt frame and that's when i'd sell my xb9r.... this sucks..... NOOOOO!!!

  • Buell forever......

  • This is so sad....I also work for a big european two wheeler company and I perfectly know what it means.

Even if my factory produces a different kind of bikes I've always loved Buell and HD.

It's so touching to feel the passion, the dignity and the great effort behind these sad words.

Good luck Erik and all Buell people, hope you'll find new roads for a better and longer journey

  • really sad!I love my XB12 Ss

    Thanks Eric!

  • thanks erik !!!! every mile with a smile, on my tubeframe buell .

  • awkward, scripted, and sad all at the same time.

I feel bad for the guy, but they had it coming, here's why:

    1. they're stuck in the past

    2. we want a slick inline4, not a rumbling v-twin

    3. harleys suck, i don't like the harley image and a bike associated with it.

    4. asian bikes are cheaper AND better quality.

    5. americans are lazy and build stuff with planned obsolescence , asians are hard workers and build stuff to last, that's the reputation america has to overcome

  • What you have against v-twins, you dope?!

  • Inlines sound way better and make for a better ride.

  • I'm thinkin' that Aprilia and Ducati make some acceptable "rumbling v-twins".

TL1000Rs, RC51s, etc. Nobody bought those?

  • .....and how about the Britten V1000 - it was amazing.

RIP John Britten; you were a god among builders.

  • So sad. But as long as stupid asses all over the western world continue to favor cheapo asian products over locally made, we'll keep on seeing tragedies like this happen, until, of course, the country actually goes bankrupt, and there's no more jobs left to finance the Kias and Samsungs we buy. Then, when those who buy disposable korean cars and chinese products have to emigrate to survive, maybe they'll think back at when the US and other western countries were rich, and how sweet life was....

  • Damn shame, and Erik should be proud not only of his bike, but his dignity, and well spoken words about his company.

  • E' davvero un peccato...

  • non mi sento di commentare , ma di unirmi al dolore di tutte le persone che per colpa di questa "crisi" perdono loro stessi

  • No way, cant believe it.

  • Man that really sucks

  • It's a sad day for all the bikers of the world, not only for Buell-owners or for americans. Buell means courage and innovation. This is a very bad loss.

  • Harley Davidson is next...It's time to go foreign!!

  • Absolutely, I blame Harley, standing alone I think Buell would have had a better chance. Now other sport bike companies have one less company to worry about, one less reason to design and build better products for us in the future.

  • Harley gave Erik a chunk of shop space which allowed him to improve the fit and finish of Buell motorcycles.

The bikes from the pre-factory times have their share of rough edges.

I'm not a Harley fan, but, this is truly sad.

Maybe Erik can get some investors and go back to the old ways.

  • fiero di essere Motociclista

    fierissimo di essere Buellista

    Erik, non mollare

    proud to be biker

    so proud to be Bueller

    Erik, never give up

  • Oggi è un giorno di lutto per il mondo del motocismo!!

  • Too bad :(

I hope this doesn't mean that HD is under serious problems.

They are fun bikes to ride, who knows if some day HD will reconsider their strategy and restart the brand.

  • Yes..HD is next if you have one get rid of it NOW!!

  • R:IP BUELL

  • I can't claim to understand the relationship between HD and Buell, but couldn't Buell be sold instead of simply ending production? Things were just getting really hot for Buell; there's got to be a buyer out there willing to give it a go...

For example, GM sold the Hummer brand for (probably) similar reasons. It might be a Chinese owner but production will remain in the US. We keep some jobs and GM gets to focus its business.

  • WHY?!

  • damn

  • this is all a shock to me. buell makes good bikes, after all, the won the AMA pro circuit. anybody who's ridden a buell knows they handle good. im gonna go try to find a 25th anniversary 1125r, no doubt.

  • Ohhh My!!!Some doors are opening and some others are closing...the Buell close smash my face. It was a good and inovate motorcycles, I hope to see some factory with the guts to inovate as buell did.

  • It has always surprised me that Buell has found customers over so many years, despite the hideous design and mediocre performance. However, it is also sad that a small innovative motorcycle manufacturer can´t compete with the mainstream products from Japan. I guess the Buells wasn´t good enough after all.
