I am not a Keeping up Appearances fan, but when Hyacinth catches the teacup and backs out of the room, that is real classic. I like Hyacinth's face when she sees the police at the door.
Councillor Mrs Nugent has changed her principles! In the episode "The Charity Shop" she is thoroughly disapproving of promiscuity and licentious behaviour, but now she wants to feature in a raunchy sex film!
Councillor Mrs. Nugent is the only one I understand that Hyacinth has to try to impress so hard, other than her Hyacinth has no need to impress anyone else, lol
at the end richard tells police that he is from respectable area and they shud see his wife how respectable she is. and mrs nugent and elizabeth come out looking like tarts, embarass him but the funniest part is when hyacinth is stunned seeing police at her door so she drags all of them indoors before neighbours might see !

haha, no offense, but are you being sarcastic? Rose is old and trashy here, which is what she's supposed to be playing. She's not supposed to be an "unmatched beauty" and she definitely isn't one. 50 is not the new 20.

I respect your opinion but Mary was beautiful and she was definitely prettier and better looking then the other women in this show! She might be trashy but she wasn't old and ugly. The creaters Roy Clarke and Harold Snoad gave the character to her because of her youthful looks.

As to what Popsicle1988 said, I agree. Even though her family drives her nuts, you can see thoughout the series that she really does care for them all and when it comes down it, she'll stand by them, whether it's Violet or Onslow or Rose. She's even loyal to her friend, Elizabeth.
I am, however, rather curious to know where the costumes came from. Perhaps they were on hand as a contingency in case Bruce ever visited. After all, the 'lady of the house' is usually well prepared for almost anything.
