Why are there American flags when a cathedral was opening? Weere they left over from when JFK was here?

The car seems to be moving slow by modern standards. Maybe there was a speed limit of 10mph.

@imshaneh The Cathedral was opened by Cardinal Cashing of Boston, so it was probably in his honour.

Must have been morning of St Patricks day 65 because of all the U.S flags out. Nice video anyway, thanks for posting, wouldn't mind seeing alot more of them on utube but I suppose not many people had cameras that time. Would have been very expensive and money wasn't plentiful in those years.

This was filmed to coincide with the 'grand' opening of the Galway cathedral in 1965.

Hence all the flags, American, Irish and Vatican.

actually itilian flags are green whte and red. irish flags (which r in this vid) are green whte and orange
