I think we've all done something to this effect. You make a judgment call that feels right with little or no time to think and it comes back to bit you. Feel bad for this guy.
You gotta have a feel for this sort of thing to appreciate the huge steel cajones this guy has... I like big tonka toy machinery, it's a guy thing I guess. I had less than 4 seconds when I rolled but for just a moment I thought what he thought it's just that I didn't have the time... I rode it out and ended up with nothing more than a banged up elbow. Huge respect for this man being able to sit in front of the camera and I hope he understands his story may save someone's life.
I would love to show this video at the mine I work at, I am a dozer operator on a refuge impoundment and see first hand how even experienced operators can make mistakes that could have very easily costed lives.
Thanks Paul for sharing. One of my dreams in life is to operate one of these huge machines,and your story made me aware of how important safety is when operating any of them. As an aeronautical engineer I have seen a few accidents and can relate to yours.

thats why you never turn up a slope. it sucks this guy had to learn the hard way. btw a d6 has less ground pressure than a loader.
