Dave's first show, even before Late Night on NBC, was a morning show. It wasn't much different than it is now..even had Paul. It lasted a few months and after NBC cancelled Tom Snyder's Tomorrow Show, they moved Letterman's show to the slot after The Tonight Show. Letterman's daytime slot was taken over by a pre Kathie Lee morning show starring Regis.
