  • Radio Station WBLS 107.5 New York played this song on their Saturday Nite Jam last week. They start at 7pm eastern 4pm pacific. They play some good ol tunes and are really worth listening to. Im from the West coast but i do dig that East coast sound. I have no affiliation with them other than being a fan. Sorry about the dangling preposition.

  • @guadagreg I was driving along listening to bls and almost went off the road trying to write this song down so I could remember it.

  • I remember this video/song marked one of the "official" songs of summer in 1985.

  • This song truly reminds me of how fun 1985 was, and this cut came out at the right time, the summer of 1985 in New York was crazy!

  • Unfortunately 9.9 only did one album, but a good album it is.The 80's were fantastic,1985 was a hell of a year,1984 was great as well.

  • @bigdaddy45able

I remember 1985 being a fantastic year too ... they don't make em like they used to!! :)

  • @shortandstylish They sure dont make them like they used to,all we can do is cherish the golden era of the 80's and 90's.Hopefully one day music will be that good again, take care.

  • I miss group so much. i remeber them when they first came out in 1985

  • The Good Old Days

  • @yougodit Word.

  • awww yaaa

  • oh yeah, this was a good song

  • 9.9 were some badassess back then!

  • Nice '85. Typical heavy gated drum sounds that were hot in that year. Not just goodlooking broads picked up from somewhere, but real singing performers, these ladies. The fashion's long gone, but their singing remains as a performance well done...

  • my favorite artist and a great upload

  • I remember when 9.9 performed on American Bandstand on Saturday Morning trying to compete with Soul Train for ratings. I bought the tape, used to play it in the Walkman when I was at college. Has anyone posted "Feel the Fire?" Great post, reminds ms so much of the Freewheelin' 80s!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man I love these obscure joints like this because when you hear em they take your right back to a certain year season month and sometimes you can remember what day you first heard it. Just when I was accepting and moving on from the 80s here comes another joint thrustin me right back, real dope post.

  • OH YES... Classic memories.. here right here...OMG! those were the days...What happened to those yesterdays.. When everyone partied together no matter what color or race. we danced our butts off "BIG TIME" and looked out for each other..Dam I wish i could turn back the hands of time "If only for one night" but, we can't so we must keep SHARING & SINGING this phenomenal music and keep it alive! and this music will live in and on forever..

    Thank you for sharing..

    Peace and love my friends!

  • Ah.. YES.. The memories of the 80's " FUN TIMES " and now pants on the ground with lousy music.. where did we go wrong..?

  • Take me back to Club Jam in the West End (Dallas' version of the Village)....parachute blouse with 100 non-working zippers and wedge style high top fade and neon green fingerless gloves!! Ah! memories..

  • Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! You knw this! Brick City back in the "New York Hot Tracks" era!

  • 1985 all day!!!!! Great song!!! I actually own this whole album. I remember vividly watching this video on New York Hot Tracks at 11 years old. Dag, take me back!!! This is what I have always LOVED about 60's, 70's and 80's music, the artists looked like REAL people. Remember that?

  • I was one of those kids watching it on that show too! LOL! The club always looked like fun too!

  • This, was indeed one of the catchiest songs of the 80's!...1985 to be exact! This song got nearly everyone on the dance floor in the club and the very few that didn't make it to the floor, were at least movin their heads to the beat! This is timeless!!!!!

  • I remember this joint from 85!! Man, I wonder what happened to them. So 80's.

  • These girls could SING!!!!

  • I never thought this tune would be a one hit wonder?

  • @epgrove1961 Actually that was by design. These girls did the album to help pay tuition I believe they were going to school in Maryland if I remember correctly. They got the job done! I hope they are successful in what they are doing today!

  • I loved to sing this song! Brings back wonderful memory!

  • What a great track!! so forgotton classic.....Thanks for posting and the memories........GD.

  • Man this is the 80's the shit they on nowadays is "fagg80's" for real!

    -Stoicone!

  • I forgot about this song haven't heard it a long long time. It had me jamming like it did back in the day. Great song.

  • I haven't heard this song in ages. Then they blew the dust off of it and played it on the radio a few years ago. But I was in the car!

  • Good tune from way back-very power dressing video-lol

  • I remember this classic song played on a show called New York City Hot Tracks back in 1985. This brings back memories when i was going to Boys and Girls High in Brooklyn New York hanging out with my friends Linda Brown and Harold Wilson and Anthony Davis.

    Thanks for the memories.

  • A great song that should have gone a lot higher in the charts. Brings back fantastic memories of the 1980s. AWESOME!!!

  • my mane is john hightower and i had not heard this song sence my sister i both got out of school in 1985 . who ever put this on here i thank you so much, from john and sandy hightower from houston texas. thank you so

  • @Msredhoney720 Exactly!! just when you thought the memory had gone, it comes bouncing back!!! I just remember the clubs or playing loudly in my car!!!! Superb!! =]

  • @Msredhoney720 If you happen to have a cable channel called Centric, you can @ least catch this music video on a show called Retro Centric weekday mornings from 8am-9am.

  • @Msredhoney720 Yes I really love youtube for bringing these songs back to life

  • This track was used in a mix broadcasted by a very popular radio program " The Soulshow" on the Dutch radio. Took me a while to figure out who the artist and the name of the song was. Great song.

  • Especially for my sweetheart Robina who's on holiday right now and I miss very much.

Btw, what a great track from a great Era.

Sweet memories. I really miss those days. Someone has a time machine?!

  • This is one of the best songs to ever come out in the 80's! Too bad it didn't get as much radio play as it truly deserved! Thanks for posting this....memories!!!!!!

  • I forgot about this song.

    I'm bringin you a woman

Bring me a man Ha Ha Love it!

  • have been trying to find this song for years! It sold alot then disappeared even off of Billboards top 100 charts. They sound like the Emotions

  • This tune fell under the Billboard Top 40 radar. Sometimes the big time execs get it wrong.

  • I have this debut album from 9.9 n I'm now curious to know if they have more hits on there. I love ballads so I'll dig in the crates for it. Also, I used to wonder why the lead bro from the alternative band "Fishbone" was the highlight male interest for this video. I never inquired to know if maybe he produced these soul sisters in the business. I guess I'll find that out once I break this album out n blow off the dust. Fine sisters for sure.

  • Man, this was my song back in the day! And I loved all the colors in the video. This was an under-rated group!

  • That's what I call a dance track.

  • I give this video a 10.10! Very uptempo dance tune!

  • Also the beat was looped a lot in discomixes in those days.

  • amazing!!!

  • hey mackerzzz. this shit is bangin'. just out of curiosity, what bitrate are uploading them as?

  • WOW! I haven't heard this in forever. Good ol' Youtube! When I was a little boy my bus driver used to crank this when it came on the radio.

  • Was it the school bus? if so, yall had a jammin school bus. I wouldn't have mind going to school.

  • Yep!! What was sweet was when the chorus came up EVERYBODY on the bus would sing along. The white kids, the black kids everybody.

  • i know... i love how everybody just knows the chorus, and then the part where she screams... hee hee...

  • This remind,s me of Germany. I bought this over there and still have it. 78LP!

  • Okay, tell me if the lead singer doesn't remind you of Vivian Banks from The Fresh Prince. Best era for music ever hands down. Good singers, song writers, producers and real musicians.

  • JeffMackerzz is without a doubt..one of the greatest VJ's of today this is the 2nd rare video he has posted i found of great artist and great music.......Jeff if you read this i appreciate you and your archives and i am officially apart of the fan club....

  • Now if we can get itunes to get on the ball:-) My ipod would be complete if It had this song on it:-)

  • Thank U bigkev1117:-)

  • oh, man, i remember THIS song and video!!!! what was this, 1985? i loved this song

  • this is one of those out of sight, out of mind songs 'cuz the adult r&b radio stations sure don't play it. it's like if youu didn't have it in your collection you won't hear it for 20 years. what a shame! great song...

I tell you, nothing like You Tube. Thank God for it. People can really just go back in time and see and listen to favorites that we thought we gone forever. • Perry, Thunder and Jones were all friends and students at Madison Park High School, a school in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Thunder was soon signed by Capitol Records in the 1970s and recorded the single, Eventually, they then answered to an ad in the Boston Phoenix and began performing in clubs under the name Thunder, Perry and Jones were backup singers for Joe Frazier. Eventually, the debut album, 9.9, was released in the summer of 1985.
