  • hmmm.. someone's dodged a few salads me thinks...

  • This a fun group, I have heard of the GW guys really being down on people that brought models from other companies even just for pick up games.

  • You can tell that these guys aren't thinking straight... The drink gives it away for one thing.

  • lol, this is right. Also, GW tournies won't allow you to go too far out of their kit for constructed pieces to play with...

  • I just hope a corporation like GW defends the interests of their customers as much as their fanatics defend their business and market interests.

I wont understand why people go so mad about GW if they don't. They even defend the Ultramarines movie. Worst piece of crap I've seen this year. I even received a message from a fan saying "Don't critisize the 40K movie or they won't make a nother one." Sounds fine to me.

  • Idiots. Yeah, you run a business, set up events for said business and then let people use other company stuff in your event. Not likely.

  • One single hero type miniature costs generally around 20-25 dollars, and that's just a human sized figure. Screw that.

  • Why is it so weird that ur not allowed to use paints from a different company. Is it ok to buy food at Mc Donalds and then walk into Burger King and eat it? I think they too will throw you out.

And at my local GW their ok with it. Just dont use the paint in while painting in the store. But they dont mind you using it at home and allow you to bring model painted with non GW paint.

    But ah well :P

  • they are right though gw can be pretty nuts

  • @PretentiousPainters thats why i go to an independent fantasy store. If they found out i only use citadel primer and over that all revell paints... i had to take my bolter with me when going to my local gw next time...

  • ahaha i liked this video the dude with the beard is funny!

  • now thats just awesome

  • One word - "Special"

  • Ewww whats that thing at the end of the table

  • Its the all knowing Neckbeard elder..

  • too fat & too skinny at the same table.

  • 29 GW redshirts have been through here.

  • Nerds feeling the need to make fun of slightly different nerds.

  • lies GW do NOT make you use their paints and brushes, they ONLY RECOMEND you do as the quality of their paints are the best this guy is just making up reasons to support a blind defiance against GW

  • @PBRstation their paints are honestly about 3rd in the market. p3 and vallejo are better for sure. I use Anita's paint from hobby lobby - it's cheap as shit and every bit as good, comes in way more colors and far bigger quantities (8 oz for 3 bucks)

You're correct though, you can paint your models with Testor's gloss if you want

  • @PBRstation Your experience may be different, but that does not make what is said in the video a lie. what you have to know is that there are various GW stores around the world, and they all police their events differently. The local GW store in my area has been known to exclude players for not painting their models in the same schemes seen in the books, and once they threatened to pull all the product from another local retailer - forever - for displaying models with different colors on them.

  • dude, love the video. i don't play WH, but im a D&D guy and i can really appreciate that stuff. People like that take the fun out of gaming.

  • 0:35-0:41 LMFAO

    gREAT STUFF

  • nerds

  • i'm glad there is retards like you alive to give us normal people somthin to lol about

  • @MCTurkster Troll Harder.

  • @QuiltCityOGREs 3/10

  • lolol. there's a gamesworkshop near my house and i go and fuck with them all the time. they threaten to call the cops on me and shit. itssss so funnny!

  • Nice enough chap i guess! Has a point with the prices. Models cost like 20p to make?

  • the reason is because they have no lisencing for it....if u say inhaled it or something (that wasnt a GW product_) , gamesworkshop could get sued (LOTS OF MONEY!) cus its not their product...thats why guys..

  • Oh Father Nurgle, why you so mad ?

  • I used to work for GW in Ontario California. I've got so many stories. Crazy fucking people.

  • @HonestIowan do tell.

  • Unsure what store you are going to but I have to say I have never seen or heard about that response from a GW employee. Now if you are playing with another companies miniatures in the store that is one thing but I think you are stretching the truth in regards to the painting aspect. There are guys in the training center that don't use GW paints in addition to some on the Eavy metal staff.

  • When I was a kid (some time around 1995) I took my Chaos Marine army to GW to play a game. It was my first time going there to play and the staff wouldn't let me play. Why? Because the figures in my army were not the current models on the shelves. I had rogue trader era minis, which I had ordered through their catalogue. So they do sell the minis, you just can't use them in store. That's a fucking appauling practice. I remember it made me cry at the time.

  • @KingxInxYellow You are either telling the truth, which means the employees at the local store were complete fucktards and wrong... or you are just making up stuff. 1995 you say? Chaos Marine models were all Rogue Trader era as the new models came out in 1996 along with the 2nd ed. WH40k Codex Chaos. So there were no ''current models of the shelves'' as far as Chaos model range was concerned. The employee would not ''ban'' you saying you dont have current models since there were none up.

  • @Dawnlighter Dude I'm not lying. It was when the new codex was released. And I wasn't banned from the store, I was told that I could watch if I wanted. I think they were just been pricks. The guy who turned me away went through my models and cherry picked which ones were acceptable. For example I had a fantasy figure of a sorcerer who's sword I had chopped of and replaced with a bolter a pass, this got a pass because it was converted, but a no to the Rogue Trader figures.

  • @KingxInxYellow Then the employee there was a moron.

  • he is right, thanks to the beer

  • Games Workshop doesn't care if you use non-GW paints. At all.

  • goddamn im going to be this dude when im older

  • I know someone who finds it hillarious to go into games workshop stores, put a bunch of warmachine miniatures onto a table and challenge anyone to a match and watch the reactions he gets.

I've given up on wargamers since I met him.

  • Hahaha gotta agree with you dudes gw get a little defensive over their miniatures especially using the "WRONG PAINT". FTW realy

  • LMFAO you guys nailed that one about GW. Back in the day 1980s early 1990s warhammer n 40K was a blast now its like BUY hundreds of crap plastic figures and paint them with our paints. What next? Sorrrrrry your figures weren't cut and filed with GW scalpel and files etc. Buy all my figures off ebay good old retro METAL stuff!!!

    sory it was my mate

  • @QuiltCityOGREs What beer is that?

  • Looks like he was..... WARHAMMERED! HAHAHAHAH

  • Hugo ( from LOST ) in 20 years xD

  • I really hope im not playing warhammer when im 40 years old and not to weigth 260 pounds. This is why wargamers have a bad reputation some guys look really nerd.

  • @1024joaquin its ok to paint and maybe even play sometimes with friends when your young but ur right not when ur 40 lol

  • @1024joaquin its ok to paint and maybe even play sometimes with friends when your young but ur right not when ur 40 lol

  • @cogelite100 Actually, according to a recent study by MTSU, tabletop gaming is one of the best social tools to keep into middle age. Most typically just do poker-style card games, but any tabletop game works.

  • @QuiltCityOGREs i didint mean any offence by what i said i was just saying i dont want to be doing it if thats what u like to do i say go for it

  • @cogelite100 you know your right, they should be totaly srus and just go to thier totaly srs jobs to be big srs buisnessmen, some of us arent stupid enough to be entertained by sports and dinking untill we forget how to be bored.

  • @cogelite100

Do what makes you happy as long as it doesn't hurt other people.

  • Guys, we still love you.

  • That is not true, look at the codex and games workshop sites!!!!!! (i would send a link if i knew how.) It says the following "we RECOMEND you use citadel paints."

  • That is not true, look at the codex and games workshop sites!!!!!! (i would send a link if i knew how.) It says the following "we RECOMEND you use citadel paints."

  • we don't get that in nottingham lol, which is the head office, i guess it must be america

the GW standard for minatures at tournaments are the following:

must be fully painted, (as of a few weeks ago) composed of complete citadel miniatures this can include modelling putty, and must be based. check any of the tournament packs ill try to find alink to a pdf for ya

  • The paint thing sounds like BS to me (you can make almost any colour by mixing a few basic pigments-there's no way they could prove what range the paints were from. GW certainly aren't perfect though. I find their legal departments attacks on fan sites and the like very puzzling (No free publicity for us!-We'd rather have resentment ta.).

  • It's important to note that this story is from the early/mid 1990s when Games Workshop were even more convinced that their shit was medically incapable of stinking. The info game from the owner of a Games Workshop approved store during the time they were doing exclusive distribution and required minimum monthly spending and dedicated square footage before they'd let you buy their precious minis. That didn't work out, and GW's probably taken things down a notch since.

  • Ohh, controversy!!! People disagreeing with other people!!!

  • You can't really make a strong argument when you have alcohol in your system. If you call what that stuff you were drinking alcohol...

Also, not once in my five years of playing warhammer and painting GW miniatures have I been ridiculed by the staff for ever using non-citadel paints.

Now I will agree with you that their paints do suck and are over-priced. I've moved on to Reaper and Vallejo paints. Much better quality and cheaper.

  • @cjholly91 the only paints i prefer from GW are the blood red and metallic colors. The rest are Vallejo for me :)

  • You guys are full of shite ,lying bastard

  • Yeah, one of the best things about the hobby is that rules like these are purely locational. I betcha there's already someone out there who's already made a gaming club out of spite from that rule around where you live.

  • my gw dosnt have that dumb rule about paint

  • It wouldn't surprise me if this is true. Games Workshop is the worst company in the gaming world. I don't see how the consumer lets them get away with it. Their quality is sub-par, yet they charge premium for their stuff. And they keep getting more expensive for making things worse. I stopped playing warhammer years ago, haven't looked back since.

  • Same here, I've never heard of this here in UK. They wouldn't let you use a non GW mini, but don't care how it's painted.

  • yes that is wate i mean staff

  • @bunk156 Oh, wow. Well thanks for letting us know. We'll try to see where this member heard of this and get to the bottom of the rumor mill.

  • its just that every game iv playd wich has been done by games workshop thay let me use my own paint. including tounements. thay just incourig u to use it

  • @bunk156 Ah. This person is talking about people who actually live and work at the GW Headquarters. Not just GW games around the world.

  • that is not true

  • @bunk156 Can you provide a link or reasoning for why it is not true? If so, we shall remove this.

  • @QuiltCityOGREs

Well, the burdain of proof is on the one making the claim. That's why.
