I've had this for so many years , when I relax I can feel my muscles twitching on themselves, particularly my little toe next to big toe is very active! Weird! I'm 22 and I think probably twitching going to get worse...
I've had this for 10 years. I'm 30 years old now. It's slowly spreading over my body - but you'll be fine. Look at the bright side, it's good for circulation!
My ex hub had this as extensively as the guy in the film after being over exposed to pesticides. We eventually got him much better so that he rarely experienced them anymore.
this is ruining my life.. i dont know if it is benign however... i've had it for the past 2 days now and i dont know what to think of it. i'm going to the doctors on monday.. if only to put my mind at ease. so stressed right now.
Doesn't it usually have something to do with ones spinal cord - if one or more vertebrae are off kilter (disc about to or has ruptured, or vertebrae misaligned), it will affect the nerves which shoot out of the vertebral bones....i.e, the nerves may be a little crushed in the area of injury, resulting in fasiculations in the muscles which those nerves reach.
I have this in right calf only. It is sometimes really bad and I can wake up in middle of night with severe cramps, again right calf only. I've had spine surgery and think it is nerve damage causing mine.
i have muscle fasciculations often, i'm only 25. i've been having them since i was a young teenager. i was born very premature so maybe something is out of whack with my body. i also get migraines.
i get muscle twitches like this frequently, several times a week, and they migrate to different places on my body, sometimes on my leg, sometimes on my arm, sometimes my bottom even, sometimes on my neck, finger, mouth, etc. i hate it when it twitches and it won't stop!!! it gets to be frustrating.
@tonialuvslecter try correcting your nutrition with some vitamins.this bugged me for about 6 months! i had them all over. it was a deficiency in either potassium, magnesium, calcium or iron. your body has to level itself out from a lack of one or more of those. don't take 2 much iron though. also, if you take too much calcium it uses up your magnesium too. i found that out & it really helped to take some magnesium. also cut out the caffeine. now, i'm back to normal & take a multi vit every day
I am 49 male, Have had exactly the same now in both legs for over two years following bells palsay which I got from herpes Zoster virus which I got 5 days after flu shot. I am very healthy, can still do a standing high jump over a tennis net so I presume it's a benign condition that the virus has left me with. Good exercise, less stress lessens the fascics.
Yep... since about October of 2009 I been having the same problem. I was going through a really stressful moment around that time too and work was driving me nuts. I think it has alot to do with that now, but like others I was petrified at first. Thought ALS and all sorts of other things. I get them all over my body, everywhere. Even on my ass... lol. I get them 5-20 times a day and like someone else said they stop when I move the limb/body part it's occuring in.
WOW.. so ijust barely looked this up on wiki because i finally got the time to just look it up.. i never knew it was a disease.. i've had it for years now. i think since i was 12, im not sure.. im 17 now.. i should probably go to a doctor :/
I get this sometimes. Although apparently if can be caused by something simple like to0 much caffine..(probably in my case)
It's happening right now in my leg. I doesn't bother me at all.
I've had it in some bloddy weird places though like the tip of my tounge, the corner of my mouth, the side of my nose, in my eyebrow and across my forehead.
I don't get it as bad as this guy in the video though.
Those are really good fasciculations. I've had BFS for a couple of years now. Trust me mate....if you laugh at them they'll get better.
Of course it doesn't take much for a very stressful situation to bring on the twitches, but the ones in my legs have subsided a whole lot (sometimes many weeks without them) if I just laugh it off.
Keep positive though mate as BFS never turns into ALS.
Hi, i been having this "twitching" since 3/27/09, it all started in my belly and it went all over my body. it is so annoying, and i used to cry about it. I went to the neurologist to rule out any other dangerous diseases, thank god everything came out normal. well, i have hyperthyrodisim(overactive thyroid) i havent seen my endocronologist for a week but when i go back am going to ask her if maybe this is something that has to do with the thyroid, am currently under medication.
i have had those random fasciulations all over my body for 2 or 3 weeks but what have helped me was reducing my stress levels and taking Magnesium supplements (but it takes couple weeks before these start working). I had to see a neurologist to rule out all the other bad neurological diseases.
go to exatest . com and get your intracellular minerals checked. Blood, Urine, and Hair analysis are not accurate. These fasculations have a cause, most likely electrolyte imbalance within the cell.
I have exactly the same problem and as frequent as his. It is really really annoying and I have been having this since Summer 09. They really need to find what causes this because I don't think it is normal.Something has to be wrong in your body that is causing this even though it is not ALS, MS, Etc...
Hey I not sure but I might have this...it started over 8 months ago and I get them once a day or so...However as soon as I move the muscle it stops...does dat happen to anyone...I get them on my arm.
I have the same problem now for two years in all my body, I dont know what's the reason and I almost tried everything but nothing worked for me, 24/7 muscle twitching..
I have the exact same problem constant twitches 24/7 in both my legs like above. I had it now for about 5 month. No weakness. My nerologist diagnosed it as BFS.
yes , your heart muscle can be affected and it undergoes spontaneous combustion . This only occurs if you have gone beyond 95 and have three earlobes .
I've had on and off muscle spasms for years now. They are most prevalent when I'm under stress. I've had foot, legs, thighs, pecs, arms, palm (near thumb) individual finger, eye lids (upper and lower), and even briefly on my freaking nose.
I've got the same thing, in both legs and some other random places, for like 4 months now... It really pisses me off, sometimes I think I'm ill, like I have some brain tumor which causes the twitches... It's a relief to see that I'm not the only one experiencing such troubles ^^
I've had this since I was 12 years old. But, I have twitching in every part of my body at one time or another. My toes on my right foot started last night around 10pm, and at almost 8am they're still doing it. Maybe not a life threatening issue, but it's VERY annoying. The other day my bottom lip, Both sides of my nose, right eyelid, and left hand did it all at the same time for several hours. I'm thinking about asking my doctor if there is medication to stop it.
wow thank you so much for posting this. I have the EXACT same thing. About 5 years now (im 26) its a huge relief knowing that others have it too. I feel better now. I havent gone to the doc and dont know If I ever will.
I have the same thing. until about 1 1/2 ago I thought I was just going nuts. I have been going throught this for four years now. I eventually found a websote that explained to me what it is. So I know now I 'm not going insane, but it is still very annoying somedays!
i have it too and i hope to hell its BFS and not ALS, ive never actually been to a doctor about it.
i have it in both calfs and sometimes get it in my fingers or thumbs, had it on my chest before too, and i get it in my eyes sometimes.
its weird but i only ever get cramp in my legs when im asleep, usually waking me in pain at stupid hours in the morning. other than that though i have no cramps.
@aquatimer almost a year for me. I get slight cramping too. I can actually make my calf cramp. It's only my left one. I had back surgery 2004 to put rods in and 3 yrs ago to take them out. Did u have back surgery?

i'm also close to 2 years man no waisting no weakness.
but somethimes tingling hands feet (somethimes)
how long of twitching do you actually need to have before its Benign ?
Also i read that it cant become ALS if its not ALS but
do you know people with ALS how long they twitch before they start having weakness and muscle loss.
HylianFury 1 year ago
i got the same in my whole body from time to time somethimes its less now i have to go to the dokter i'm a bit afraid.
ive been having it close to 2 years now i still weight 275 pounds so i'm overweight so i dont think there is wasting nor weakness
