was able to get the idea for most of these combos but that one near the end where you KOed Ragna from full HP was insane. Would you mind telling me how you learned to do that and/or how long it took? Just curious.
@flarekid10 All of the actual comboing was done on the Arcade Version of Continuum Shift, most likely a PC port of it or he actually went and bought the actual arcade game and recorded off that.
And I'm not much of a Jin player myself, but from what i have played of him, all i can say is 6C is your god. It helps recover the distance you cause from dealing other hits, and it also combos into a lot of ther moves (6D, any of Jin's DPs, and Jin's arrow super.)
Could you please tell me what the combo at 2:17 is? I tried leading into it from the combo at 2:08 but I realized they were two different combos cause the combo at 2:08 does 4.1k, but the combo that starts at 2:17 ends up being 6.8k.
@Darksp3ller That footage? It was most definitely from a console version (the PC version is just a direct conversion of the 360 version anyways). Look at the date when this video was uploaded, then compare it to the release date of PC Calamity Trigger, which happens to have been August 20th of 2010
If you were playing CT on a PC before then, then what you were playing was a pirated copy run through an emulator, much like how CS was leaked onto PCs when the arcade version came out.
well i wouldnt mind if the freezing ability has died down in 2 seconds, just that jin feels a bit stiffer than usual lets say u just use "D" to freeze and try to dbl tap to run forward which supposively shud react right-o-way, it seems to lag 1 sec less than CT. Also the "A"square button uppercut is a bit stiff and doesnt give jin that extra earlier run anymore because its now like the triangle uppercut~ I still like jin and still moderate with him, but hes just 1 sec slower in skill load-backs
honestly all those people complaining on how the nerfed jin just show how much you rely on ice car and his freezing, all they did was make it more of a challenge to use him, it better now then it was before because before the way you win with jin, was by freezing, and then ice car, now you need skill to use him because they took off all the cheap aspects of jin, who ever complains about this just doesn't know how to combo with this jin and should stop complaining about it.
@silverphantom44 To be honest, all I want back is for 5B to crush lows and for 5D to be the same way it was in CT. Other than that, i have no problems adapting to the new jin, although pressing J2C is kinda weird for air combos for me.
@songlessnightingale yea i know what you mean with the air comboing probs, but people complainging about the ice being nerfed is like "dude, how bout you do combo's that don't require ice spam"
thats what happens when you try to counter a hakumen, he looks at you with a hardcore stare, the AH finish's you, stupid jin player, but nice ass combo vid man.
The way some people are going on it's like Jin was destroyed when he wasn't. They made him a fairer match, in that you couldn't freeze someone, take your sweet time to get to them, and then combo for free. The instant ice break only works once you've hit the ground which is pretty much true of any move that doesn't bounce you. His combos are still easily good, at 5-6k a go here, just means you have to use skill to play him rather than ice car spam and drive spam.
(I use jin myself and trying to main tsubaki as well instead of noel because I have a better feel for her.)
I cannot find a video with the changes in Jin's move/combos unlike most of the other characters ,_.; I dunno what has range/priority anymore besides Ice car being nerfed and the ice.
Really nice moves Jin in this game is alot harder overall to fight aganist in my opionion. A few of those new moves..make him a pain in the ass to try and zone or pressure.
@ielinsano4 You mean Yukikaze? it's a counter distortion that Hakumen had in the first one, which he also has in this one. Jin has it now, can counter mid, high moves, and projectiles, but not grabs or lows. Input's 236236D, if you're wondering. Hope that helps.
@songlessnightingale ummmm sorry, and no i'm not a noob to arcades but i have no idea what you said for the input. are the numbers the directions or buttons?
@ielinsano4 My bad then, the numbers represent the directions and inputs. A,B,C and D are the main buttons for blazblue, A being weak, B medium, C strong, and D for drive. Hope that clears up any misunderstanding.
@songlessnightingale oh i know what abc and d do. i've played calamity trigger and use to rape on that. my combos were inspired by the dvd or tutorial the game comes with for each character lol. but back to the move so what directions do i push into before hitting d?
In the console version's arcade mode you can get full heat by hitting L1 and R1. My friend showed me this in easy mode but I'm not sure if it works on any other mode.
Actually, the last combo was NOT done in practice mode. I know little about Blazblue to be entirely honest but I do have good eyes. If you look, it says "Stage 10" above his health meter, so it is in arcade mode, that is easiest to see, and if you also pay attention, a little insignia of some kind, 2 of them actually are underneath his health bar as well. He uses 1 to completely restore his heat then launches the Astral. What those things are, I don't know.
@Am4t3r4su The two insignia's represent the Bursts he has available to him. One insignia is consumed when an Astral Heat is used. As for his heat gauge filling up, taunting in any match against the PC will give you full heat. As you can see, it says "VS COM Heat Bonus" when he taunts.
nice combos, but majority of theses combos start off with 6C which isn't so easy to do but builds up that nice damage, none the less nice video, 1:16 was epic.
@Czarewich Not at all. A lot of these combos are off Fatal Counters and require a large amount of heat not to mention that they require a fair bit of planning to pull off so you're not very likely to see them in real matches.
I do believe he was somewhat cheap in CT. Pad users were sometimes at a disadvantage because they had to "roll" out of the ice. And even that got annoying. Ice car was punishable but in online laggy matches it was hell.
"Are you happy? Now we cant spam ice car as much, and you wont get frozen!
YAY!!! FUCKING NOOBS GOT WHAT THEY WANTED!"
The way you typed that makes seem like you spammed ice car. I guess not all noobs got what they wanted. I main Jin for CS and for CT.
A lot of noobs complained about ice car. I didnt spam it. But using it for lols is a whole other story.
They changed ice car in CS for no reason. C ice car is the only one with knock down lol and it goes higher for no reason also. Stupid hitboxes..
Hey, whoever cant fight a certain character is their problem, see, in CT everyone was cheap so it was quite a fair game. But now, in CS, there are such things as "Tiers"
And I'm fine with Jin being middle tier. Yes I know he got nerfed but I am going to deal with the nerf instead of complain to Arc or some Bang player online.
Im dealing with the nerfs as well, and im not complaining.
Just loling at the tier noobs and sf4 leftovers that CS has attracted.
I lol at challenge mode by the way. Those combos are weak.
I do not like the fact that they are numbering a characters skill level. Like lol what? Ragna is uber powerful and hes supposed to be a noob character.
Actually, thats all CS is now. Just a bunch of unbalanced steaming pile of garbage.
Don't get me wrong, I dislike what they did to Jin. His Ice Car was killed. Along with many others excluding a few, damage nerf. His air poke was turned into some straight slash (he still has the air poke but with reduced length) As every decent Jin player, I used it somewhat frequently in combos (or to get in range). Where there is lag, there will be whiffs. Whiff an ice car, you will get punished. And I'm not gonna bother with challenge mode. At least no more complaints about ice.
I really enjoy watching this video. The only thing I wonder about is that fight at 3:30 with Lambda-11 and the one right after with Tsubaki. In one of the forums on dustloop, it was listing some of the changes that were made from CT to CS and one about Jin was that while they were frozen, they break out at the fastest time that they can, yet in the video, Jin had time to shoot the slow ice blade and time to taunt from the other side of the screen, still making it back in time for a legit combo.
Wish the initial strike fo Jin's Yukikaze (His counter super) did damage instead of waiting on Jin to sheathe his sword....I know its to look cool and all but still.
Awesome stuff! I was thinking to make another Jin video, but guess I don't have to anymore. This video is more than enough with all the awesomeness :D.
