reason why it sounds differen't is because, a fender squier is loaded with single coil pickups, there really made for big tone, along with lipstick pickups, but there made more for jazz. this guitar that the guy is playing has 2 humbucking pickups, more along the lines of rock and roll, and metal. don't need to switch to a gibson, just get a half decent guitar, thats loaded with humbuckers.
