well having brian in to make an album right after highway to hell, kept momentum and fans, and stopped ac/dc from being one of those bands that a niche few people remember. So many bands nowadays, im talking the 90s to now, waited too long to replace the dead, missing member of the band, and their replacement wasnt able to become legendary like brian did. like pantera, alice in chains, quiet riot, and none of these bands r anything compared to dc.
Best ACDC Song Ever Long Way To The Top a Bon Scott Song his the man :) and he was really popular in Australia but i love Brian Johnson but with out Bon Scott there is no AC/DC
I think they coped the same Metallica did with Cliff Burton. Just move on, try to put it out of your head, play your ass off and get that emotion out. AC/DC
@ poopyguy1694 Go see Bon's video's with AD/DC he made AC/DC as the front man. Having said that Angus has always & will be the greatest for pure clean Rock N Roll
Bon was a PARTY animal PERIOD.
The documentary has it WRONG
AC/DC was BIG time in the UK with thousands of followers even b4 Bon died
YES they were a pub/small concert/University band
WHY ?? Cause there was no where else to play in them days.
Them places used to be packed when they were around
i hate the idiots that call Ac/dc a heavy metal band , they're a rocknroll band first and foremost! i rly cud never hear anything heavy metal at all in their sound or their image
Some of the comments from the journalists are a bit unconvincing, like er, yeah, he drove their van for them. Q magazine only covered AC/DC when they were too big to ignore.
the Brian Johnson era of AC/DC brought you into orbit around the earth, the Bon Scott era smashed your face against the concrete. Brian Johnson era was epic and astronomical, Bon Scott was down-to-earth and a man of the people.
@Frozenyak BON SCOTT WAS THE BEST.. WHAT WORKS SO WELL FOR BRIAN JOHNSON IS THAT HE GETS TO SING ALL HIS AND BONS SONGS... REVERSE IT AND IT WOULD BE AMAZING TO SEE BON SING SONGS FROM BACK IN BLACK AND SO ON. BON SCOTT FOREVER
@l7ebels Yes but Bon is dead face the fact its a new time dude i know you think Bon was best but he has been dead for so long now you should try accept Brian xD
@TheACDCover Well i dont like the new times, thats the beauty of memory, and bon is in mine strong.. so its like new to me... plus his music is timeless
speaking of lame replacement singers... anyone see the doors with ian astbury? they call themselves the doors of the 21st century and ian astbury dresses just like jim morrison and moves around just like him, he even tries to stand like him, and the doors keyboard player tries to pass it off by saying ian and jim and 'cut from the same cloth'.. did anyone see that? it was soooooooooooooooo pathetic.

Sorry, but I am a purist....I totally condone that the Young brothers carried on, but I don't think that they should have done so under the AC/DC banner. It's kind of similar to Skynyrd....for me Skynyrd died when the plane crashed.
Well AC/DC was their band, so technically they had the final decision. And they wouldn't have done it if all the members weren't on board. It also helps when you have the family of the deceased encouraging you and telling you to keep going. Initially, Malcolm didn't want to keep going. It was Bon's father that told him to go find another singer and carry on. They had the family's blessing and they carried on with respect towards Bon's family.
@floydfreak63 Sorry but youre an arse. Who are you to say what AC/DC should or should not do? Its their livelihood youre talking about, all they've ever done.. or been excellent at, at least, and YOU - one person - would, if you could, take away all the great music and happiness AC/DC created after Bons death?? I take it back. Youre not an arse, youre a.. Tell you what, let the people decide WHAT you are and lets see how many thumbs down you get. ;)
Well excuse the fuck out of me for stating an opinion. I was merely trying to stress how much Bon meant to me as an artist. Like I give a flying fuck how many "thumbs down" I get from "youtubers".
LMAO Touche, i wouldnt lose much sleep over it myself.. Still, a caustic opinion will get caustic replies. I'll respect yours if you truly belive it but i will never, ever agree. :)
@floydfreak63 how does being a purist get you to the conclusion that they shouldn't have continued on? by your logic, when your mother dies, you and the rest of your family will kill yourselves aswell.
he insisted brian take over , lol , the only thing bob said was that if anything happened to him , you should think about getting bj , he did not insist , sorry !
@dethstiny "bon was really sick"??? Wtf are you banging on about?? Did you personally read Bon's post-mortem report? Cause i didnt! Strange then how Malcom would say Bon got a glowing report from the coroner.. and it not be true. Acording to you at least..
@dethstiny bon didn't insist that brian take his place if he left the band, all he said was that brian was an excellent singer and a great performer.
and bon wasn't sick, he asphyxiated. god it's unbelievable how many people don't know the truth about his death. ozzy osbourne for instance thinks he got hypothermia from spending the night in the car and died that way. seriously.
@acrobaticaromatic He choked to death in the back of a car while past out, right?
I LOVE BON SCOTT but I am still glad they continued.I don't like the music as well
but what the hell else were they gonna do,become accountants or go into law enforcement.I was such a young kid,I remember hearing about Brian Johnson replacing Bon and even at 9-10 yrs old I was like,That was quick.
@scumgod13 yeh he drank a total shitload of alcohol and passed out in his friends car and his friend couldn't wake him so he left him there and he threw up and cause of the position he was in he asphyxiated. And yeh, same thing happened to Bonham, i think while he was at Jimmy Page's house.
Yeh they got Brian in pretty quick. But they're really not the kind of people to be all sentimental and spend years mourning a death.
@acrobaticaromatic Yes a sad end for Bon Scott and for rock music. What is deeply saddening is the fact that Bon and John Bonham's death could so easily have been prevented. However, a little known fact about Bon's death is that he may also have been suffering from hypothermia which may have hastened his end. He fell asleep in a car, in the middle of February in London. The early winter of 1980 was a very cold one. As anyone who has been pissed knows you do not feel the cold. So tragically sad.
@starryian007 As a firefighter/EMT, we deal with deaths every year that result from drinking, and passing out asleep in the cold here in southern Idaho. I believe that hypothermia was definitely a factor. Plus, Bon also had asthma as well. Really, 4 quadruple Jack and Cokes wasnt that much for a hardened drinker like Bon. But at least he gave us 5 good years of music that will never die.
@resqfireman Thanks for the reply. I believe Bon drank a whole lot more than what you suggested. Apparently Bon had been in a local pub for most of that day drinking heavily with friends. Bon was well-known to drink to extreme levels - in much the same way as John Bonham - drummer with Led Zeppelin used to do before he too died.
Bon, I believe choked on his own vomit sometime that night while lying on his back in a car. Hypothermia could have played a part in his demise - although never proven.
@scumgod13 Actually he was in the front passenger seat of the car, with the seat laid back. He did choke to death, but I also believe that hypothermia was a factor, as it was freezing cold in London that evening.

Normally - I agree!! I thought that when my favorite band, Queen's, frontman died...they did the right thing by not trying to carry on.
In AC/DC's case - I think it worked!! The work with Brian speaks for itself.

It's sad really, in all the later pics of Bon you can tell just how sick he really was. I think AC/DC (bon inc.) knew he was dying.
Bon insisted that BJ take his place if he "should leave the band".
so all you hater that talk shit about BJ are talking shit about Bon's wishes for the family he found in AC/DC
