I use this as therapy for overcoming ridiculous adversity. We all think of Spielberg as superhuman but this guy thought he was done for and truly earned the success of this motion picture.
First time i saw this in 82 at 7 yrs old i thought it was a real shark then every time i went to the beach i would automaticly think JAWS and got to scared to go in the water and this got worse after i seen JAWS 2 where i was more scared to even go to the beach So yeah they made it scare the wits outta me for many years and all i can say is WELL DONE SPIELBERG
I was like 8 when i first saw this movie, it made me never want to go to the beach again. I used to get paranoid about swimming pools as well, like public pools with the deep end, and the random grate in the floor of the pool. I used to think they were keeping a big shark under the grate and that they'd release it when i was in the deep end looooooooollll...
Da-dun....da-dun, da-dun....my film teacher used this movie as an illustration of music to convey an emotion.

Wow. Peter Benchley's wife said it was a bad idea. There's a surprise. Thank you Peter, for not listening to that bitch.

Hmm, I wonder if we missed an even greater classic when "Lucky Lady" went to Stanley Donen.
I think I'm happier this way.
