@ddhindsa:Im not saying they're brahmins,learn to interpret things correctly.I gave a comparison about how certain Jatts (not all of them) are establishing an elitist hierarchy within Punjab just like how Brahmins did (and in certain areas are still doing) in the rest of India. @simayana Under Nehru,the Indian Parliament enacted many changes to Hindu law to criminalize caste discrimination.A system of reservations in government services and educational institutions was created to eradicate the social inequalities and disadvantages faced by peoples of the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.Im not saying Nehru was god or the greatest person ever,but he did at least try to tackle the issue of caste discrimination.How many Jatts in the 20th century have even said .....

@TheWheelerOne1 The family is brahmin and has ruled India in one capacity or another since independence. If they want to tackle caste-ism, why not start by renouncing their own privileged caste?

Those laws against caste discrimination are not enforced especially in the rural villages.

I do not defend Jatts. What they do is just as wrong and I condemn that just as soundly. I have several times written about this in my blog, The Road To Khalistan.

@simayana ... that caste is a problem within Sikhism? Dalits have suffered and are still suffering under upper caste hindus in India, im not placing the whole blame on Jatts. But the entire world and most indians know about the problem and inequalities faced by lower caste hindus. But Upper caste sikh leaders refuse to even recognize the problem of caste within sikhism......Bant Singh is the embodiment of Chardi Kala & I hope he keeps fighting against caste injustices against Brahmins AND Jatts

@TheWheelerOne1 Casteism within the Sikh community is a travesty and against every teaching of the Gurus. I have long been fighting it, to the point of publicly renouncing my own Jatt heritage.

In my book, there are no upper caste Sikh leaders; anyone who claims caste is not a Sikh. Period. Right now, there is de facto no Sikh leadership. This breaks my heart, but denying the facts solves nothing. Some of us, however, are fighting to live according to Guru ji's teaching.
