@CITGProductions They were made of crystal. Crystal oscillates/harmonizes when rubbed. The more moisture the better the sound but you could do it with the trace amounts of moisture in your finger.

well with 3 yr old, learning to use scissors can be essential with their gross moter skill and fine hand motor skills. of course i would trust five yr olds around glass and water, as long as they obey the rules then its grand.

i work with special needs children, making instruments like this is great therapy and to enhance their creativity plus they have a finished product at the end.

Isn't there a formula for making this? Didn't Pythagorus (forgot how to spell his name) just get a length (height in this case) that sounded good, then take half that length/height and add it to an equally filled water. So it would increase by 1.5 every time. Ig these glasses are prefectly cylindrical it might work.

I feel bad for this woman... she's struggling to figure out what sounds good... and why the glasses with different amounts of water are making the same tone. I'm a music teacher and have advised my students NOT to use a spoon to strike the glasses..... :P
