Will the 86a stimulus slide on every turn? Because I'm still wanting to do some pretty sharp carving at kinda high speeds and not have it come out from under me! But really want to start some sliding!
@noahconstrictor11 they won't slide out like hard street wheels, and can still carve it up. However, as you go faster they'll slide out a little easier. If you're doing some hard carving at higher speeds you're better off getting a softer duro, or moving over to the 4 presidents.
If i got the 86a durian will they slide out when i carve? because i won't be bombing huge hills just decent ones around my house. I want to be able to slide easily but not slide out on turns. i also want to beat friends in downhill races. ( I just wanted to add more info because i want the best wheel for me) Thanks for your help
@topdoggie99 I think you're best bet is to go with the 83A's. You'll still be able to slide those, and it will get easier as they break in. They'll also retain some grip so you won't break free too easily.
@izzie833 sick wheel. We made this video about a year ago and the Balut wasn't out yet. We're testing them now and are planning on having a review up soon. Subscribe to our channel and you'll know as soon as the video drops!
I have a 41 inch board I like to downhill and i want to start doing a little of stand up slides. I also want max speed. I'm looking at the durian and stimulus purple and yellow. Which ones would you recommend. ( I have the Original rocker concave 41).
@topdoggie99 alrighty, in this case I think you should go with the In Heats. If you're going to be hitting a lot of speed you'll need the grip, unless you want to slide around most turns. It'll take a bit to break them in for slides, but that'll be your best setup. If you don't want to have to wait to break them in then 80A, maybe 83A, Durians
@macooca My first thought is the Durians. At that length they tend to work better. If your deck is a bit wider at the nose and tail you may want to check and see how much clearance you have since the Durians are a 75mm wheel. Better safe than sorry.
i have a 47inch sector9 what wheels should i use? i need something soft for the unpaved roads around here. not sure if i should go with the in heat or 4 president, what you think?
Don't always go for the wheels that are the most highly rated and most known. There are other wheels out there that are just as good as otangs and cost a whole heap less. Just an opinion :)
Hey! I Just wanted to try something different. If were to get a Tan Tien, and i didn't want an orangatang wheel. What wheel would you recommend for deep sliding and free riding? Thanks man,Love the store
please someone tell me! im looking into a set of wheels that has enough grip for carving, and downhill, but has the ability to slide really nice and smooth. im looking at the 83a duro, but i want a pair that will last me a LONG LONG time. i dont want something wearing out on me in a few months
@XB0XFR34K alrighty, DH, carving, and some slides. Two ways to go on this one. First option is the 4 Presidents 83A which will grip well with its hard edge. You'll need to break it in a bit before it starts sliding out though. If you want to start sliding right away, check out the Durians. They'll still grip well, but slide easier than the 4Pres or In Heats. You'll also have a decent amount of urethane to go though.
I have a landyachtz switchblade and i am looking for a good sliding wheel. I have zombie hawgs on it right now and they dont slide very well. Which one of the orangantang wheels is my best buy
@CreeperMCboom Hmmm. The hawgs should be pretty decent for sliding. Are you riding a really soft duro? In Orangatangs try out the 86A Stimulus wheels. It should be pretty easy to initiate a slide on those stims since they have a harder duro.
What wheels should I get? I'm getting the loaded dervish and going to use it for an all around everything I do. I can't slide yet and what to learn on this board what wheels should I get?
@wowcantfindaname12 for an "I wanna do everything" with this wheel go with the Durians 83A. They'll cruise well (larger diameter, somewhat soft duro), carve (big enough contact patch to hold on), and even slide a bit too right out of the box (round edges, stone ground surface).
@furrypridedonthide An 83A Durian should do the trick. The larger contact patch will give you some grip, but it's still slideable out of the box. If you plan on doing some larger hills you may want to get the In Heats. You'll have to break them in before sliding them, but the extra grip may be needed on fast, hard carves.

@ARCTICKANGERO this choice is going to come down to your style of riding, or what you want to do with them. The 80A has the most grip, but will cruise smoothly since its also the softest. If you want to get some slides on I would suggest the 83A. The 80A may be a little too grippy.
@TuhermanaProductions definitely 83A. If you've got a board under 40" go with the Stimulus. If you have a larger board, or some rough roads, go with the Durians.
Hey I'm getting a maestro mini looking to do tricks and sliding. But I also want to be able to have a little bit of grip for some slight carving and downhill. I've heard ABEC 11 wheels are much better so I can't decide. What wheel do you think will be the best for me
@sporkandstumpy Abec 11 Freerides are sick sliding wheels. O'tang Durians would also work well on that board with the 83A variety. Stick above 70mm and I think you'll enjoy either one.
@bcsurfandsportvideos ok thanks for the help, i do tend to have a prefered side type of thing, but i usually swap sides of the board so it does both wheels
@xdiizehh not really an easy way, just keep riding. Also, check your wheels for signs of uneven wear and rotate them accordingly. Everyone tends to favor a foot or side to be heavy on, and that side generally wears a bit more than the other.
@xdiizehh yessir. Check out our review on slide gloves, we go through the Loaded ones and a few others. Be on the lookout for the new Orangatang Balut wheel. It's a freeride/slide oriented wheel that's coming out early next month.
@xdiizehh no worries. It's probably the wheels are starting to break free a bit. That's the force they'll need to slide out. Good for shedding speed if you need to.
@bcsurfandsportvideos Thats great my birthday is on feb 10th i will get them around then, thanks for this info, love your channel keep making great infoed vids
@bcsurfandsportvideos THATS great My birthday is Feb 10th , i will get them for my birthday , thank you for this info, i dont need them till then cuz i have only just got my board and wheels month ago so by feb i should need new ones, THANKS bcsurfandsportvideo
@xdiizehh Durians (in yellow or purple) would be your best bet right now. BUT WAIT! Orangatang is coming out with a new wheel that's been designed towards freeride. It's called the Balut and is coming out in the beginning of February. If you can wait I'd say to go with that one. We haven't got any yet, but we'll get a review up when we do.
hi, I'm going to be putting these wheels on a landyachtz switchblade. i mostly do cruising, carving, and some downhill but I'm trying to get into a little bit free ride. which wheel would be good for me?
@kurtdeisel1 check out the 4Presidents 83A. I think you like those for the carving and some hills, and that should also help wear them down for some free ride.
@LBcruiser25 if you're mostly carving and cruising go for the Durians 83A. You'll be able to slide then when you want (no break in required) and it should give you enough grip for carving. If you're going to be carving super hard you may want to consider the In Heats. You'll need to break them in a bit before sliding (get the shiny exterior off) but they'll hug the road for those super hard carves.
@elbridgegaming the lower the number, the softer the wheel. Softer wheels will have more grip, and harder wheels will slide more easily and travel slightly faster.
@TheProjectLongboard cruising is going to the Durians; the larger size will keep the roll going. Slide is tricky, the Fat Frees are smaller and slide out easier, but if you're going a bit faster the Durians are more stable.
@kaiser0ner both are great wheels, but in this case I'd go with the Fat Free. They have a rounded edge that will let you enter the slide a bit easier. Check them out!
@jplax821 For faster riding you should probably stick with something that has a hard edge (4President or In Heats). They'll grip the road a bit better to make sure you're locked in on faster runs. If you're doing some slides on the way the Stims will probably be fine though.
@StephanAllison98 they should be pretty solid for now. In the future you could change them out to something like Bones Swiss or something to keep the roll flowing.
Hey buddy, I love this video. It has helped me learn details about orangatangs! But I am still not to sure. I am planning on getting a original apex 37 longboard! I am a beginner but I still want good wheels. I dont nessasarely need very fast down hill wheels. I am probably just going to ride down streets and rodes. I want to try carving though. I also want a decent speed. I am terible at making decisions so if you can make a decision for me that would be great, i would highly appreciate it!
@StephanAllison98 ok, i'd suggest going with the 4Presidents 83A. They'll keep you locked on the road for hard carves while keeping a decent pace. Enjoy!
im starting to slide, and i was into the stimulus, but i dont know which one to get, the 83a or the 86a, considerating that im just starting, could you please give me some advice?
I'm torn between the in heats and the 4 presidents! can anyone help? i'm getting a lush symbian deck with paris 180 trucks and bones red bearings. I do a lot of downhill and carving and cruising i'm learning to slide but don't do it often. Can anyone suggest which wheel and which duro?? thanks!
@MolemanG1 if you're doing a lot of hills check out the 4Presidents or In Heats (83A or 80A if you plan on going fast). The harder edge will give you enough grip to keep control at higher speeds. The only downside is that you'll have to break them in a bit before getting smooth sliding action. If patience isn't your strong suit, go with the Durians 83A to start sliding early. You'll sacrifice a bit of grip but you'll have the ability to start sliding right away.
@bcsurfandsportvideos I went with the 4 presidents in the 83A formula in the end, thanks so mush for your help it's nice to see even though this video has been out for over a year you're still helping out guys to make a choice! Cheers guys from England!
i want the 83a durians for the color....but the 86a for the slides....is their a big diffrence for sliding?(im new to sliding but i've been doing downhill riding for awhile... so i want a new way to stop besides air braking and footbraking...(max speed is 40 mph on my hills)
@IamTeHe the aluminum core adds some weight to the wheel. They're mainly for downhill and the additional weight will give you a little more grip and a more even wear pattern.
@bcsurfandsportvideos Ok since yo're answering my questions I was wondering what would I do with wheels that are flat spotted or completly worn out. DO i just throw em out?
@IamTeHe you could juggle them and possibly join the circus, make a sweet car for a pet mouse, or set traps for burlgars Home Alone style. Or just throw them out.
please respond as soon as possible. i am thinking about getting the koastle roadrunner'1' and thinking about getting some 4president wheels for it. it is 38 1/2 long please respond anyone this is for a Christmas present.
@imjoedewar you've got a good amount of clearance so those should work fine. Go with the 80A if you want to stay gripped or the 83A for some slides every now and then.
@MineThenCraft well, that board isn't really the first deck I would choose for sliding around, but let's see if we can get you started. Biggest thing is you've gotta commit to it. Get some speed and really lean into it. Slide gloves help so you don't have to worry about messing your hands up. Try to do a weight transfer also. For example, lean left and then back right really quick. Hope this helps!
@mexcanterrorist i think you'll be ok. I don't have this board in our shop so I'm guesstimating based on some pics with other wheels I know. I've seen a setup with 72mm that had plenty of clearance. Check what wheels you have now and how much clearance they have. That should give you an idea of how 75mm wheels will fit.
Hey great vid, just wondering I'm thinking of replacing my old wheels on a Jimmy Plummer Z-Flex board, would any of these wheels, like the smaller stimulus wheels work well with the board, thanks.
@Scooterrider1232 that could get close as far as wheel clearance goes. If anything I would go with the Fat Frees 65mm. Check how much clearance you have with your current wheels. That should let you know if the Fat Frees or larger will work.
@hockeylaxbro419 since it's a little smaller i'd go with the Stimulus. 70mm will keep you cruising and hold through carves, and if you go 83A you'll get a mix of grip and slide capability.
ive got an sector 9 aperture, and i want to get a nice sliding wheel, but there are some hills that are fun to go down and i want to keep some grip, please help me out :)
@benno1474 cool, there's a couple ways to go. If you want to do some slides right away, check out the Durians in 83A. It'll give you some grip but will break free when you need it to. If you need some serious grip, check out the In Heats 83A. You'll have to break them in before you can slide them smoothly, but they'll get there.
im riding a sector nine aperture and i do a tiny bit of sliding but im more into carving and bombing hills, what wheels should i get? please respond! thanks.
so i decided to get a loaded dervish. what wheels would be good for that? i'll be riding on relatively bad pavement.. and i don't want to really slide or drift. what wheels would be good?
@iHEARTspooey get something on the bigger side. In Heats or Durians will do the trick, but you may want to go for a soft (80A) Durian. If the road is really bad the In Heats may chip on the edge. An 80A Durian should give you enough grip so you aren't slipping out, and handle the rougher pavement.
@parkermason44 they'll all pretty much work for just cruising around. I'd recommend one of the 75mm ones (Durian or In Heat) unless you have a small board.
@XRiptidetheBossX could go with either the Stimulus or the In Heat. If you need quick responsiveness for sharper turns check out the Stims, otherwise hit up the In Heats.
hey, i'm a new longboarder and i just want to cruis, carving and go on smal hills, but i will need to perform some slides to control my speed. do you think I should buy the yellow or the purple stimulus ?thanks a lot!
Which do you think I should get for a board that is 36 inch long..in heat 83a or durians 83a or even the 83a stimulus..I want to be able to slide and have grip.soo let me know
@TATobin99 they can slide, but you'll need to break them in a bit to get nice smooth drifts. If you don't mind riding them a bit before that try them out. If you want to get to the slides right away, go with one of their rounded edge wheels like the Stimulus or Durian.
@bcsurfandsportvideos how long do you think it would take to break them in for sliding?I have also looked and thought about the durians but i just dont know if i want the durians or in heat.
@bcsurfandsportvideos ok,.. which wheels do you like the most out of the in heat and durians,,?And i do longboard a lot..and i bike a lot too. but my bike broke so i longboard a lot more
@TATobin99 I like the Durians, they're a nice all around style. It seems like you want to start sliding soon, so I would go with those so you can get to it and shred. No worries about break in time either.
@TATobin99 solid grip, good energy return, and once they break in you can get predictable slides. Just depends on if you're a patient person and want to wait.
@bcsurfandsportvideos ok.im just debating on which wheel i want out of the in heat or the durians...and im still not shur yet.and i have been thinking about it all week
I'm buying a rayne demonseed (2011 limited edition). Planning on doing a cross country for over 2000miles. Will put paris trucks and I don't know which wheels to buy for my purpose which is a long distance trip starting from LA, CA to maybe grand canyon or hopefully all the way up to chicago. I heard Durian purple 83a is good but dont like the color.. can anyone recommend some good wheels? or should I just go for the purples..:(excuse my english btw. Thanks!
@iristenceo Purples would be fine, but you could do Yellow. They'll ride a tiny bit faster than the purples due to higher duro 86A. Good luck on your journey, get some good video!
@bcsurfandsportvideos Are the yellows noisy?or just about same as purples? What bearings will be the best for my board? I might have to get more than 1set of bearing due to long trip..not sure. I'm about to go and buy one online in couple of days now..so expensive tho:( Thank you for ur advice!!
@iristenceo shouldn't be any louder than the purples. As far as bearings go, I would get the best you can afford. As you'll be on a LONG journey it'll save you time and energy. Also, get some you can clean on the road. Bones Swiss are pretty solid, and you can clean them out when they get dirty. You could always go ceramic too.
I want to get the 4 president wheels for sliding i just don't know which durometer will be the best for big slides. Also, are there any other wheels that you recommend for free riding?
@izzie833 either the Stimulus or the Durians will set you up good. If you want a bit more grip, and don't mind breaking in the wheel before they slide, you could check out the 4Presidents.
@loadedscubfanboy1 they probably lost their balance. These aren't inflatable tires like a car, so if you hit something bigger than a pebble it could stop the board, but that's just the way it is with skate wheels no matter which one you go with. If you're riding an especially rough road go with the Durians and get a broom so you can sweep away the rocks.
@TheSkate2skater lower speed should be fine, but not for downhill. They'll slide out really easy at those speeds and you'd be better off with the 80A version. Even then, you may want to check out the In Heats to get some extra grip.
@Cal0221 i'd go with one of the harder edge wheels, 4Presidents or In Heats. It'll give you a little more grip if you're going a little faster and once they break in they'll slide nice. I'm thinking 83A also. If you'd rather start sliding right when you get the wheel check out the Durians.
@bcsurfandsportvideos What durians should i get then the 83a or 86a? (mostly for a little more speed into easy slides.) p.s. Also new to longboarding so don't know much.
@Cal0221 well, if you plan on doing some hills I'd stick with the 83A. The 86A version will slide easily, but that could be a problem if you're carving down a hill and it unexpectedly breaks free. I'd say start with the 83A's to handle some hills and some slides. Also, if you plan on doing really big hills then it would be time to switch up the board and the wheels, but you can cross that bridge when you come to it.
i have a 42" longboard but the area i live around has narrow streets and tight turns, would you recomend the fat free or stimules
superbad926 6 days ago
@superbad926 with a 42" board go with the Stims. The Fat Frees are kind of small for that size board.

@bcsurfandsportvideos sorry for commenting 2 times, my internet is bad,,
when i go down a hill on my dervish flex 2 in heat orange, and im carving what does it mean when i carve hard and the wheels vibrate ?
xdiizehh 1 month ago
@xdiizehh no worries. It's probably the wheels are starting to break free a bit. That's the force they'll need to slide out. Good for shedding speed if you need to.

i want to do downhill carving and i am a begginer slider which wheels are good for that ?? in heat yellows or durians ? please someone get back to me
xdiizehh 1 month ago
@xdiizehh Durians (in yellow or purple) would be your best bet right now. BUT WAIT! Orangatang is coming out with a new wheel that's been designed towards freeride. It's called the Balut and is coming out in the beginning of February. If you can wait I'd say to go with that one. We haven't got any yet, but we'll get a review up when we do.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
hi, I'm going to be putting these wheels on a landyachtz switchblade. i mostly do cruising, carving, and some downhill but I'm trying to get into a little bit free ride. which wheel would be good for me?
kurtdeisel1 1 month ago
@kurtdeisel1 check out the 4Presidents 83A. I think you like those for the carving and some hills, and that should also help wear them down for some free ride.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
Im actually gonna get the dervish ha. so what should i set it up with just for some sliding but mostly carving and cruising.
LBcruiser25 1 month ago
@LBcruiser25 if you're mostly carving and cruising go for the Durians 83A. You'll be able to slide then when you want (no break in required) and it should give you enough grip for carving. If you're going to be carving super hard you may want to consider the In Heats. You'll need to break them in a bit before sliding (get the shiny exterior off) but they'll hug the road for those super hard carves.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
what is the difference between 83a and 86a and the other a's?
elbridgegaming 1 month ago
@elbridgegaming the lower the number, the softer the wheel. Softer wheels will have more grip, and harder wheels will slide more easily and travel slightly faster.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
whats better for cruising and sliding, durians or fat frees?
TheProjectLongboard 1 month ago
@TheProjectLongboard cruising is going to the Durians; the larger size will keep the roll going. Slide is tricky, the Fat Frees are smaller and slide out easier, but if you're going a bit faster the Durians are more stable.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
That you recommend to me to do slide? Orangatang fat free 65 mm 86a or 83a Or a ABEC 11 ZIG ZAG 66MM 86A ORANGE
sorry for asking it, but I am Spanish and have not dealt very much:P
kaiser0ner 1 month ago
@kaiser0ner both are great wheels, but in this case I'd go with the Fat Free. They have a rounded edge that will let you enter the slide a bit easier. Check them out!
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
i am mostly into downhill riding and i picked the stimulus for my wheels with the arbor axis gt is that the best choice? which do you recomend?
jplax821 1 month ago
@jplax821 For faster riding you should probably stick with something that has a hard edge (4President or In Heats). They'll grip the road a bit better to make sure you're locked in on faster runs. If you're doing some slides on the way the Stims will probably be fine though.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
On the apex 37 i also wanted to know if i should keep the bearings or buy different ones? what are really good ones, i have no clue?
StephanAllison98 1 month ago
@StephanAllison98 they should be pretty solid for now. In the future you could change them out to something like Bones Swiss or something to keep the roll flowing.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
Hey buddy, I love this video. It has helped me learn details about orangatangs! But I am still not to sure. I am planning on getting a original apex 37 longboard! I am a beginner but I still want good wheels. I dont nessasarely need very fast down hill wheels. I am probably just going to ride down streets and rodes. I want to try carving though. I also want a decent speed. I am terible at making decisions so if you can make a decision for me that would be great, i would highly appreciate it!
StephanAllison98 1 month ago
@StephanAllison98 ok, i'd suggest going with the 4Presidents 83A. They'll keep you locked on the road for hard carves while keeping a decent pace. Enjoy!
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
im starting to slide, and i was into the stimulus, but i dont know which one to get, the 83a or the 86a, considerating that im just starting, could you please give me some advice?

@ymilneme3 throw on the 86A's to make it a bit easier. That should get you started up.

I'm torn between the in heats and the 4 presidents! can anyone help? i'm getting a lush symbian deck with paris 180 trucks and bones red bearings. I do a lot of downhill and carving and cruising i'm learning to slide but don't do it often. Can anyone suggest which wheel and which duro?? thanks!
MolemanG1 1 month ago
@MolemanG1 if you're doing a lot of hills check out the 4Presidents or In Heats (83A or 80A if you plan on going fast). The harder edge will give you enough grip to keep control at higher speeds. The only downside is that you'll have to break them in a bit before getting smooth sliding action. If patience isn't your strong suit, go with the Durians 83A to start sliding early. You'll sacrifice a bit of grip but you'll have the ability to start sliding right away.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos I went with the 4 presidents in the 83A formula in the end, thanks so mush for your help it's nice to see even though this video has been out for over a year you're still helping out guys to make a choice! Cheers guys from England!
MolemanG1 1 month ago
are the in heats easy to slide?
fr0zdify 1 month ago
@fr0zdify you'll have to break them in for a bit first. They'll get easier but those wheels are meant to have a lot of grip.
bcsurfandsportvideos 1 month ago
i want the 83a durians for the color....but the 86a for the slides....is their a big diffrence for sliding?(im new to sliding but i've been doing downhill riding for awhile... so i want a new way to stop besides air braking and footbraking...(max speed is 40 mph on my hills)
Nascarrr48 1 month ago
@Nascarrr48 86A might get quite slidey at that speed. I'd recommend going with the 83A's to have some grip as well as slide capability. Go purple!

What about the 4presidants aluminum core. whats the difference?
IamTeHe 2 months ago
@IamTeHe the aluminum core adds some weight to the wheel. They're mainly for downhill and the additional weight will give you a little more grip and a more even wear pattern.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos so is it worth it?
IamTeHe 2 months ago
@IamTeHe if you plan on doing a lot of fast downhill, then yes.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos Ok since yo're answering my questions I was wondering what would I do with wheels that are flat spotted or completly worn out. DO i just throw em out?
IamTeHe 2 months ago
@IamTeHe you could juggle them and possibly join the circus, make a sweet car for a pet mouse, or set traps for burlgars Home Alone style. Or just throw them out.

imjoedewar 2 months ago
@imjoedewar you've got a good amount of clearance so those should work fine. Go with the 80A if you want to stay gripped or the 83A for some slides every now and then.

I have Durian 83a on an atom kicktail, and i want to slide but it seems like i cant, do you have any tips?
MineThenCraft 2 months ago
@MineThenCraft well, that board isn't really the first deck I would choose for sliding around, but let's see if we can get you started. Biggest thing is you've gotta commit to it. Get some speed and really lean into it. Slide gloves help so you don't have to worry about messing your hands up. Try to do a weight transfer also. For example, lean left and then back right really quick. Hope this helps!
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos Thanks! Helped a lot! I do know my board is not the best, but its a board and i enjoy it! :)

im getting a fullbag elise whth bear 852s how would in heats fit with it or do you recommend another wheel
mexcanterrorist 2 months ago
@mexcanterrorist i think you'll be ok. I don't have this board in our shop so I'm guesstimating based on some pics with other wheels I know. I've seen a setup with 72mm that had plenty of clearance. Check what wheels you have now and how much clearance they have. That should give you an idea of how 75mm wheels will fit.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
is 75mm harder to slide then 70mm?
fr0zdify 2 months ago
@fr0zdify assuming they're both the same duro then yes. The 75mm have larger contact patches so you'll get slightly more grip.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
Hey great vid, just wondering I'm thinking of replacing my old wheels on a Jimmy Plummer Z-Flex board, would any of these wheels, like the smaller stimulus wheels work well with the board, thanks.
Scooterrider1232 2 months ago
@Scooterrider1232 that could get close as far as wheel clearance goes. If anything I would go with the Fat Frees 65mm. Check how much clearance you have with your current wheels. That should let you know if the Fat Frees or larger will work.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
Im getting a loaded tan tien, what kind of wheel should i get? the board itself is 39"
LBcruiser25 2 months ago
@LBcruiser25 depends on what kind of riding you want to do. The Tan Tien lends itself to slides and tricks, so the Stimulus 86A will get you set.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
What do u recommend for cruising carving and a little bit of sliding on an earthwing miniglider (33") thanks
hockeylaxbro419 2 months ago
@hockeylaxbro419 since it's a little smaller i'd go with the Stimulus. 70mm will keep you cruising and hold through carves, and if you go 83A you'll get a mix of grip and slide capability.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
would i get a wheelbite with in heats on a pintail 43?

@SwaggerificBoarding you shouldn't have a problem. The narrow nose and tail allow for a lot of room.

ive got an sector 9 aperture, and i want to get a nice sliding wheel, but there are some hills that are fun to go down and i want to keep some grip, please help me out :)
benno1474 2 months ago
@benno1474 cool, there's a couple ways to go. If you want to do some slides right away, check out the Durians in 83A. It'll give you some grip but will break free when you need it to. If you need some serious grip, check out the In Heats 83A. You'll have to break them in before you can slide them smoothly, but they'll get there.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
im riding a sector nine aperture and i do a tiny bit of sliding but im more into carving and bombing hills, what wheels should i get? please respond! thanks.
iamthemesenger 2 months ago
@iamthemesenger probably an 83A stimulus. You'll keep some grip and after you break them in you could slide them out a bit
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago

nikepman 2 months ago
so i decided to get a loaded dervish. what wheels would be good for that? i'll be riding on relatively bad pavement.. and i don't want to really slide or drift. what wheels would be good?
iHEARTspooey 3 months ago
@iHEARTspooey get something on the bigger side. In Heats or Durians will do the trick, but you may want to go for a soft (80A) Durian. If the road is really bad the In Heats may chip on the edge. An 80A Durian should give you enough grip so you aren't slipping out, and handle the rougher pavement.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
if i just want to ride around the neighborhood or cruise, what wheel would you suggest? i will not be sliding...
parkermason44 2 months ago
@parkermason44 they'll all pretty much work for just cruising around. I'd recommend one of the 75mm ones (Durian or In Heat) unless you have a small board.
bcsurfandsportvideos 2 months ago
What is the best wheel for downhill carving on a loaded dervish?
XRiptidetheBossX 3 months ago

ThiagoDiasLeitao 3 months ago
@ThiagoDiasLeitao if it's smaller hills the yellow should be fine. Ease into it at first since those can break free quickly.
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
Which do you think I should get for a board that is 36 inch long..in heat 83a or durians 83a or even the 83a stimulus..I want to be able to slide and have grip.soo let me know
TATobin99 3 months ago
@TATobin99 probably the 83A Stimulus. It'll give you a bit of grip but still slide when you need to
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos also, do the purple in heat slide at all?and are they good for freeride and speed, sliding????
TATobin99 3 months ago
@TATobin99 they can slide, but you'll need to break them in a bit to get nice smooth drifts. If you don't mind riding them a bit before that try them out. If you want to get to the slides right away, go with one of their rounded edge wheels like the Stimulus or Durian.
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos how long do you think it would take to break them in for sliding?I have also looked and thought about the durians but i just dont know if i want the durians or in heat.
TATobin99 3 months ago
@TATobin99 depends on how much and hard you ride. I'd say maybe a week or two of riding should do the trick.
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos ok,.. which wheels do you like the most out of the in heat and durians,,?And i do longboard a lot..and i bike a lot too. but my bike broke so i longboard a lot more
TATobin99 3 months ago
@TATobin99 I like the Durians, they're a nice all around style. It seems like you want to start sliding soon, so I would go with those so you can get to it and shred. No worries about break in time either.
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos ya i do want to start sliding.but what is the best thing about the in heats?
TATobin99 3 months ago
@TATobin99 solid grip, good energy return, and once they break in you can get predictable slides. Just depends on if you're a patient person and want to wait.

Thanks!
iristenceo 3 months ago
@iristenceo Purples would be fine, but you could do Yellow. They'll ride a tiny bit faster than the purples due to higher duro 86A. Good luck on your journey, get some good video!
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos Are the yellows noisy?or just about same as purples? What bearings will be the best for my board? I might have to get more than 1set of bearing due to long trip..not sure. I'm about to go and buy one online in couple of days now..so expensive tho:( Thank you for ur advice!!
iristenceo 3 months ago
@iristenceo shouldn't be any louder than the purples. As far as bearings go, I would get the best you can afford. As you'll be on a LONG journey it'll save you time and energy. Also, get some you can clean on the road. Bones Swiss are pretty solid, and you can clean them out when they get dirty. You could always go ceramic too.

which wheels are good for carving and freeride?
izzie833 3 months ago
@izzie833 either the Stimulus or the Durians will set you up good. If you want a bit more grip, and don't mind breaking in the wheel before they slide, you could check out the 4Presidents.

I heard that with 86a stimulus if you roll over it you will fall of or something I have never risen stimulus please tell me
loadedscubfanboy1 3 months ago
@loadedscubfanboy1 they probably lost their balance. These aren't inflatable tires like a car, so if you hit something bigger than a pebble it could stop the board, but that's just the way it is with skate wheels no matter which one you go with. If you're riding an especially rough road go with the Durians and get a broom so you can sweep away the rocks.
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos oh thanks

TheSkate2skater 3 months ago
@TheSkate2skater lower speed should be fine, but not for downhill. They'll slide out really easy at those speeds and you'd be better off with the 80A version. Even then, you may want to check out the In Heats to get some extra grip.

im getting tan tien soon and i want to have a good sliding and downhill board all in one so what would be the best wheel for that?
Cal0221 3 months ago
@Cal0221 i'd go with one of the harder edge wheels, 4Presidents or In Heats. It'll give you a little more grip if you're going a little faster and once they break in they'll slide nice. I'm thinking 83A also. If you'd rather start sliding right when you get the wheel check out the Durians.
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos Are there any problems for durians when it comes to a lot of speed or are they just fine for carving and downhill as well?
Cal0221 3 months ago in playlist Liked
@Cal0221 the Durians won't grip quite as much as the In Heats due to their rounded edge. If you need to stay gripped go with the In Heats
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos What durians should i get then the 83a or 86a? (mostly for a little more speed into easy slides.) p.s. Also new to longboarding so don't know much.
Cal0221 3 months ago in playlist Liked
@Cal0221 well, if you plan on doing some hills I'd stick with the 83A. The 86A version will slide easily, but that could be a problem if you're carving down a hill and it unexpectedly breaks free. I'd say start with the 83A's to handle some hills and some slides. Also, if you plan on doing really big hills then it would be time to switch up the board and the wheels, but you can cross that bridge when you come to it.
bcsurfandsportvideos 3 months ago
@bcsurfandsportvideos Alright thanks for the tips and replying! goin with the 83A's (nice vids too learned a lot)
