Yeah rule of thumb for any system that has been used is to just dump everything and reinstall the OS. It's astounding that computer even let you run anything, let alone boot up.
He used a rogue guys. Its fake all fake. Btw if you dont know what a rogue is then its a virus in disguise as an antivirus, and tricks the user into buying the full version in order to remove the fake viruses. It also displays fake alerts saying like " YOUR COMPUTER HAS SPYWARE " or " Your Computer Has Over One Million Viruses "
Examples of these are navashield, Spysheffif, Av Defender 2011, and many others. There is about like 200 out there waiting to trick you
When you purchase a used computer that is infected with lots of virus like in your example, the best thing you can do is reinstall Windows. If you dont have a good Windows CD/ISO Image, then download Ubuntu Linux or better yet, download Zorin Linux which is based on Ubuntu that allows you to make the Linux look just like Windows XP, 7 or Macintosh and then never worry about viruses ever again.
So fake. These viruses are coded the same way so AVG just re-detected the same shit over and over again. In fact it is inpossible for these kind of files to replicate so you downloaded these by yourself!
@MultiEggboy Well, he could always get rid of the old HDD infected with billions of viruses and install a new, bigger HDD with fresh windows installation and no Viruses or trojans. Problem Solved!
@BRAVOADD well, I never got a virus going to strip clubs in my town. I don't know where you live, but our strippers and prostitutes get mandatory check ups. God bless Canada.
You should also consider downloading and installing Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, another anti-malware (freeware) product, which detects more than AVG.
When I ran Cursor Mania on my VMware Workstation, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (1.46) was able to completely terminate the program, while AVG (9.0) only found some of the infections.
sounds like a steal what you got it for all you have to do is remove all the virus's and you got a ok computer or just format the harddrive both would work.
dude i started panicking when i got like 5 viruses from downloading hacks. LOL! i flipped out! I just deleted all those files, but when this happens I get SO nervous!
Hey I still have this comp 2 1/2 yrs later, and besides replacing the CD-RW for a DVD-R it's healed completely. But when I fished it out of a garage sale I thought it was toast!!
these are all .exe files there can be over 5000 in on esingle file that you have downloaded.... to bad if you get one, yet its all amateur virus... so just del them
Dude - I think it went over 12,000 before I stopped the AVG program and simply replaced or cleared out the hard drive (it's been 2 yrs so I can't recall for sure). But this comp is running like a champ today!
Ok I GOT SO SCARED i WAS LIKE HOLY CRAP... Then I asked if he had Norton on his labtop he said yes, then I said I needed to scan something. He saw the screen of the desktop background which said spyware attack.
He said give me the computer I know you did something to it. Then he called me a Knuckle head for Infecting his PC. I couldn't blame him though. IT WAS HIS WORK LABTOP!
It wasn't because of the website. The hacker got through our firewall somehow.
He turned off Norton, and installed spyware EVERYWHERE. Btw, His password for the labtop was strong. We found out no anti-virus could protect from it. I don't swear, But when it first happened I said the S-word in my mind. XD
yeah watch out for forum sites, especially forums for online video games where you can aquire things that are worth stealing. people can put keyloggers and trojans in banner ads without the website even knowing about it.
Well... One night i got 4 Trojan Horses that infected 10000 of my files. I did not do anything on that computer! Nothing! It was only showing porn sites and they did someting like these too! So thats why i think they are from porn!
why the hell are all the viruses in your documents.... The first thing a hacker want's to do is not PUT It in the most obvious place in the world. Either this was staged, those were really bad viruses, or the person before you was experimenting with viruses
Erm perhaps its becausse they are generic virus's.. If you knew anything about them they copy themselves to other folders. So it coulda been hidden away far far away on his drive but copied its self to there. Thats why there is so many because its in every folder.
