All respect to extreme metal everywhere, but saying that Salem released stuff before any Norwegian band just isn't true. Both Salem and Mayhem released their first demos in 86, and Mayhem had an EP out by 87. I'd say both bands were pretty much on the same track at the same time. I believe in giving credit where credit is due and in this case both scenes and bands deserve equal respect.
