I actually have an English friend who is obsessed with American football and refers to English football as soccer like we do here in the States, so everyone needs to learn their stuff. Know some Brits before you assume anything. That's the problem with most Americans... you know what they say about assuming something.
@peteblueeyesfromBI sorry, but watching a bunch of men kick a ball around for several hours to have the game end 0-0 is not entertaining unless the bleachers collapes and half of Europe dies.
If they were going to invent a football team, you'd think they could of been remotely accurate with the style of names, something like Birmingham Athletic FC (based on Dunfermline Athletic),,, sigh, no one cares for the football anymore... apart from a few million men in pubs pissed off their heads.
Also is it me, or does the actor who plays Chubb, despite being from Sussex, sound like an American trying to impersonate one of the Royal Family members?
@A16AdamWalker the actor is from Sussex? As much as I love this show I was a bit insulted by that accent being a southerner myself. Definitely sounds like a Dick van Dyke accent. I know exactly what you mean about the football club name, surely it's something like Birmingham FC.
@ravenflutterby Yeah I checked after I watched the clip, just to see if it was an American who was actually playing the part, but no turns out he's from Sussex. I only really mentioned it as I was chatting to a mate of mine from Yorkshire who claims that American's don't realize anywhere outside Eastenders or The Isle of Wight exists.
Only prob with Birmingham FC, isn't that an actual team? (Scottish League were I am so don't really follow the FA)
Now I see a NEW couch.I wonder what Brad and Mark did to the old stained one and what Tim and Jill's reaction was :D

Okay everyone, I know a few Brits and they do call it "soccer" when they're in America. Even David Beckham calls it "soccer" So chill out!

They really goofed on that British character. Firstly, the accent sucks. Secondly, they call it 'football', not 'soccer'.

I love the irony of this episode, since I watched the weed episode before this one and Brads text score was "420"

@peteblueeyesfromBI Unless he was talking to people who almost certainly wouldn't know that they called soccer "football."
