I could only watch 30 minutes of this. It was horrible and don't get me wrong, but is "Candy" (despite being based on Terry Southern's novel) a rip-off to that movie Shirley MacLaine did earlier in the 60's called "What a Way to Go"? In which the main character is surrounded by men that is being filled by big names: Paul Newman, Dean Martin, Robert Mitchum, Gene Kelly, and Dick Van Dyke (I'll take them over the "Candy" co-stars). Even worse, the stars here are seen for five minutes and are gone.
Again, I don't see how those retarded, fat a-holes in hollywood can even dream up a movie like this today, and even if they did, what stars with a half ounce of mystique is there in the world to act in it? Yes Candy, give it up baby, give up your illusion that movies today are worth paying to see. Lay down and breath with Marlon Brando instead, this was a different time, a different place in the world, gone like the snows of yesteryear.
Maybe if I am very good, Santa will give me a truck like Marlon Brando's for Christmas !!! Thanks for posting ... I have always loved this movie ... no matter what such an acquired taste in cinematic epics might imply about my psychological mindset ... LOL.
'5 letters' lol Such an earnest actor even in a comedy....................
Anytime i see Terry Southern's name anywhere i get reminded of the quote of his on the back of Kool Aid Acid Test 'Tom Wolfe is a gas and a groove, everyone should send him money and other fine things'
For this and Easy Rider he's definately earned his 'beatitude' .
oh crap, brando is the weird guy with black hair isn't he....
