You too, ARE MY BROTHER! Kenny DeWit 173rd Airborne Brigade Cco 3/503 November plt 10 men Hunter/Killer team Leader and pointman 1969 May the God of ALL things Great and Small Bless you
Thanks for creating this tribute to Ed Freeman and all the other Medal of Honor winners as it is well deserved of America's true Heroes... Sir I salute you...
People tell this story, but often forget that Bruce Crandall was also there that day, leading from the front as the Commander of that helicopter unit. He also received the Medal of Honor... after he took his name from the list so that his battle buddy Too Tall would possibly receive the Medal without competition from Bruce. They were both great men - they don't make them like that anymore. History often does not give equal credit, where it is due.
wow... as my teacher told this story i thought that he was going to get fired from the army.. and tom cruise gets fired in top gun for saving that guys life even though it was an order he shouldnt have been fired
@plasticbudgie There are still hundreds of thousands of these type of Americans serving today! In fact, I would bet these type of people exist in EVERY freedom loving nation!
Thank you for great video honoring Medal of Honor recipient, Ed Freeman. You did a superb job. I, too, am disgusted that the media gives virtually no mention of Americas heroes. "The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it."--Thucydides
What a sobering and moving tribute! I salute Ed Freeman, and all of our military heroes. Rest in peace in the loving arms of Jesus, brave ones. We remember.
As a little brother of a Vietnam Army vet,and as a father of a US Marine, with 3 deployments to Iraq, I wish to thank Ed's family. He leaves big shoes to fill, may we all be proud! God rest a Good man!!!
Ed Freeman had a huge heart, he's one hell of an American. God Bless You Sir!!

@halorunescaper
You don't get fired from the military.
To get fired is to get your pay ceased.
You can get relocated, or you can get seperated.
But they can't stop your pay or benefits like a civilian job.

@thebingage yes they can i got fired from the air force i had to turn in my wings

Those are the real courageous men. The other ones, the men who send them to the war, are not.

We need more men and women with this kind of courage, and respect for the lives of others, in our country. Where have all our heroes gone?

What is it in people that allow for such bravery? By doing that he was a dead man, yet he kept coming back! This brought a tear to my eye!

Thank you for bringing to light one of Americas heros. Shame on the media for not doing it.
There should be a bill passed that flags should be flown at half mast when a MOH recipient passes.
