Every four years the Democrat pundits including the media say the young vote will bring the Democrats victory. Every time the young voters do not turn out. This is a big yawn.
Do Republicans need large black voter support to win? Rather cool, though that they think that (what I read) 12% of the population decides elections. Moving on up, power to the people, right on. As one young voter said s/he has lived under two families and wants change in the White House.
Its not that 12% of the population is so important, its that that 12% has been a chunk of the Democrat voting block for a long time. If Dems lose that voting block or any other voting block, they can't win. The Republicans have never really had the "Black Vote" so they don't need that 12% of the population. (Though I am sure the support is welcome.) They have other voting blocks to support them.
Obama is what the USA needs and would be a great vote for our nation. I have voted in the past, never really feeling the love for the candidates. Obama is different, as he appears to be revolutionary in his speeches emphasising a deep concern and love for our nation. I'm so happy Carolyn Kennedy endorsed him because it really drove it all home for me.
Come on you voters on Feb 5th. Get out there and vote. prove to all those pollster just how wrong they are and the media. Let your vote be heard and the change happen. Go Barack Obama and go our country!!!
Obama is really our hope. He is the one that can ease our tensions around the world, not with fear, but with an extended hand. For us, as a nation, to survive, we need Obama. We all need hope. Yes we can. Yes we can.
but will young voters turnout for the general election. that is entirely a different beast than the primaries. i am hoping for a DEM victory in november.
Our present leader touts wealth and strength as a means to solve problems. Obama recognizes that, on top of those qualities, we need creativity, diversity, and moral judgment as well to thrive today. But most importantly, we need meaning and hope.
I am 22. Young Americans like myself have been waiting for a candidate to wake us up, speak our language, show us the globe and introduce us to our world. We have been hiding during the Bush years, but now it's time to emerge. Young America is finding meaning through Barack, and that's exactly what this country needs if we are to compete in a world of super-industrious economies and guerilla threats.
I am 18- a first time voter in California; many of my school friends are pro- Obama- I think there's going to be a huge wave of younger Americans voting Obama! OBAMA 08!
Same. From Ca, all friends I know pro obama and will vote obama, I am 20. CA will go to Obama, if it goes to Billary, I am lost, because most CA ppl are pro Obama.
Talk to your parents and grandparents about why you support Obama. Tell your friends to do the same. Older voters support him less, and we really do need them. Remember, being first lady does not count as experience!
I am so overjoyed to see young Californians and young people across the country getting involved in their democracy and making a stake to secure their own freedoms. I wished I'd been as inspired, or self-motivated when I was young, but I've gotten FIRED UP now! I'm READY TO GO!
Just make sure you all get out to the polls and VOTE. Thats the main thing. Alot of young voters sometimes say they support a certain candidate or prop, but when it comes time to vote they're nowhere to be found.
The future has arrived and it's name is BARACK OBAMA. Let's go!

i am white, and i love obama. I hate the fact that they keep saying hes black, and bringing race into it.
I'm not voting for him becuase of his race in voting for what he stands for.
i hope obama wins, so we can finally see a change.

Obama will make less people hate US. So elect him. Hillary is a crazy -and people in the south hates her. And the republicans are crazy as a whole.
