OH, I also tightly taped the batteries together, around the sides, and the top and bottom which kept it really nice and sturdy. Then I had no problems with the rack. I also changed out my wires for 10guage wires, and the crappy china fuse for a regular slot style car fuse and that helped A LOT, I noticed improved performance right off the bat. And yeah, keep the wires between the + and - terminals as short as possible, shorter wires = lower resistance which = better performance!
GOLDENMOTOR!!! Nice choice my friend! And it looks like you're using the included strange chinese bungee cord! I got one a while ago for my BMX! Same kit, only for a 20" rim. It looks like you're using 7amp batteries? I'd say if you ever get a chance, try getting your hands on some 12 amp batteries, they are good. I also noticed your wiring there, try keeping the jumpers between the batteries a lot smaller! Better performance.
I don't stress enough about safety! averaging 20-22mph (minimum 17-maximum 28mph) you need to wear a helmet! I almost hit a car door when some woman swung her taxi door open. My life flashed before my eyes. lol but it is still a great bike! I'm on my second rack cuz the first one bent to hell and I had to replace it. (SLA = HEAVY)
@arni0202 What kit did you use? and is that a direct drive or geared motor? It looks like a direct to me...
