  • Wow, that was really good. very mysterious. i'm going to check out one of my own vids now of a similar genre and figure out what we did that was different to yours that made ours crap.

  • whats the story line then will there b more i am interested :)

  • Unfortunately there is not more from this story. There were plans to incorporate this storyline into a TV Pilot. However we recast Jim Sweeney as an alternative lead character. We then re-hashed our storyline involving Ross Maxwell and are using the same premise except relocating it to Amsterdam.

  • The pacing is exquisite, creative camera work and FX. The flashback sequences add depth of time and ambience and the characaters are believable and fascinating. It's hard not to want to see this an episodic. Phenomenal work!

  • geeeeeeiiiillllll

  • Just watched it...it has some awesome shots / sequences...the sort of surveillance stuff with slowed down frame rate at the start is very nicely synched to the sound (sound on the whole thing is great btw), and the bit where the character slips after getting out of the bath is very well done, you really feel the impact...and the time lapse photography of the sky + the dolly shots just after it are really great...very smooth!

  • thaks for the positive comments Mike! I am glad you enjoed it.

  • Wonderful Job I enjoyed that very much

    check out my films

    thanks

  • Excellent - You really know how to build the suspense! xx

  • wow u got skills

  • Wow, impressive. I like this. Nice job :).

  • man, that was great

wish i had a fuckin camera

    good job for real

  • I liked it. Not a lot happened, but it happened in a really atmospheric and ominous way.

  • I liked it a lot very stylishly showcase of Glasgow. I think there are a couple of spots where you could tighten the edit up with to give it more punch. Still very impressive and i agree with the other guy, very Tony Scott. What did the lighting setup you used consist of?

  • The lighting set up consisted of a couple of bambinos and some reflectors. It is very Tony Scott as that's my style as well.

  • Great !!

  • nice, what did u shoot it on? and how did u do the time lapse of the clouds?

  • Shot it on a Z1 Camera and a Panasonic Handycam for some shots.

Time lapse stuff was done by shootun the sky for half an hour and then speeding it up in post production. You have to have a lot of footage as 30 minutes can turn into 30 seconds of footage.

  • FANTASTIC! Very nicely realized and rich visuals that really pulled me into the story right away. The sound design - and music - was awesome although the editing did start to wear on my patience compared to the duration of some moments by the end. That's probably a personal preference kind of minor - very minor -gripe so please feel free to disregard.

Great work done by all! It's very inspiring and many thanks to all of you for putting it online. Peace!

  • Very Good!

  • Nice job but too much like Tony Scott films. Try creating your own flavor. However, nice job.

  • excellent job

  • I've posted a longer response on the eEmpire forum, but I just wanted to to commend you on a great first short film.

Our styles are different, but I can definitely appreciate a smart film when I see it. Good work.

  • Great little film! Look forward to seeing more from you guys!

  • A very good film, loved the look and feel of the film, and the cinematography was excellent. Nice one folks!

  • Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed that. Thought the music, direction and editing was excellent. Outside locations well chosen.. I'll keep a look out for more films from this company.

  • very good films, some of the camera work was a bit off but other than small things that only film makers know its good. where you based?

  • I am based in Scotland. The US History video you commented on was not created by me. Wish it was though. I just hosted it for someone else.

  • guessed that, i remember you guys now, i wanted to help with your stargate film. Im working on a new project at the moment.

  • That gunshot took me by surprise, jumped out my seat, lol. Really cool tho.

  • Hells ya Colin! Great to see it on YouTube. If peeps wanted to download it from my site, i'm all for it. Cheers! /j

  • It looked very good.

But that bit with the door handle....AHHHHHH! That hurts.

But apart from that great work :D

  • F**kin ace!

  • Mikey was the double for the close-ups of the hands. Only close-ups of the hands that wre Jims are "The locket shot in the opening titles" "The Doorbell Shot as Dimitri Stumbles to the bathroom" and the "Closeup shot of the doorhandle" which Neil thought was the worst part. hehe, I can live with that for all of 3 seconds its in the film.

I filmed it in Stuart Wrights from Ayr Storms flat. So it was a real bball movie! hehe!

  • Nice one Colin, good luck with it!

So did u film it in your flat?

And what part did Mikey play - he looks nothing like Vladimir!!!

  • Very impressed Smith!!!!

Hope the rest of the Scotball community appreciates your obvious talent!

Best part: the soundtrack and atmosphere

    Worst part: the door-handle

    Coach P

  • We are enterng it into film Festivals as they come up. Mainly UK ones at the moment.

  • Well, it's very cool, and proffesional looking. Are you entering it into any festivals?

  • Yeah, but we blagged, borrowed, and begged all the kit, Colin mainly spent his pennies on feeding his cast&crew and keeping us happy!!!! :-P

  • It cost me between £100-200 out of my own pocket. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Ummmmmm, Brilliant. I love it... How much did this cost?
