Testing and Treating a Private Well for Coliform

Ryan, Excellent video! I have been a home inspector in MIchigan for over 10 years and you are right on the money here. Some things that we have found over the years that are more effective are to use 1 gallon of liquid pool chlorine instead of bleach, when you are running the water into the well casing make sure you wash the sides of the well casing down completely, and when you can smell the chlorine from each faucet turn it off for a couple of hours and let it set.

Mix chlorine and water together in a pale befor pouring it down the well.Look up.. 3 minute gardener well disinfecting. It's a better example of how to shock a well.

Thanks, we recently showed symptoms of coliform in our water..got it tested,,and sure enough, thats what it was..Thanks for this video on how to disenfect! good video!
