This is awesome! Back in the day - late 80s - at PRC we rocked it old school with Mountain Dew & Butterfingers. Sure we still got Riddle Vision, still crammed for Calculus exams, used PanAm Weathermation, and paid lab fees for classes w/o labs..... but we didn't have advanced technology like RiddleThrist!

@TrueHT Its actually smarter to get your ratings at an FBO and getting a college degree somewhere else. People like you think that riddle is going to keep you in the job market wherever you go. When in reality they are just charging you more for the same training you can get anywhere. Do some research and realize that the PTS for all licenses and ratings don't change no matter the flight school, so you are being charged 30K for one licesne that only cost 10K max to earn.

From my own experiences TEACHING Riddle students, they generally are very well prepared book wise. I have a binder I got from one of my students, it was really nicely prepared.
Riddle doesn't get a bad name from what they teach, they get a bad name from the majority of self entitled children who attend there.
I never applied at Riddle. Never cared to go there. I knew better than to seek an aviation degree. No airline cares WHAT/WHERE your degree is in/from, as long as it you have it. It could be from Riddle or Mary Anne's School of House Plant Husbandry, no one cares.
What good is an aviation degree when there are 8,500 pilots on the street and no one is hiring and more furloughs are coming? (like right now)
For the record, I've applied to 3 airlines, been hired at two of them.

Riddle is a very highly regarded flight school. Especially in the aviation industry. I had an interview with China Airlines, and they knew what Embry-Riddle was. And they were very impressed. I'll find out if I got the job this week. Internationally and Domestically Riddle is highly regarded. Because of the quality of the flight training.
Some flight instructors waste time because they're only instructing to get that airline job. You cannot tell me your Flight School doesn't have the same.

@hockey8833 I don't deny that ERAU is a good flight school, but there are equally good schools out there for a lot less money. If money is no object, then blow it on ERAU. Otherwise, go somewhere else and receive the same (if not better) education for less. If you think that ERAU is the holy grail, and the only place that produces quality pilots, then I feel sorry for the person sitting next to you in the cockpit.

@hockey8833 You are making a very blanket statement that ERAU is better than ALL FBO schools. That is simply not true. There are many FBO schools that offer training that meets or exceeds the level of training at ERAU. FBO schools produce proficient, knowledgeable pilots that can run circles around some ERAU grads any day. The only point I am trying to get across is that you don't HAVE to go to ERAU to receive quality flight training.
Please don't tell me that someone who goes to ATP for 90 days and then to gulfstream airlines to fly FO in a 1900 is receiving the same quality as riddle, lol cause that is a joke
If you knew about ATP and gulfstream you would be surprised to see how many people do both, cause they think that paying for hours will make them a good pilot

Engine Turbine systems, CRM and aircraft performance will all be taught when you get your type rating. Which BTW is PAID training by the airline. Thats why the CRJ course there is a joke because you could have a thousand hours in that CRJ simulator and any airline with a CRJ will still make you complete their training course in order to fly it for them.
@rev4life03 let me know if any regional airline teaches you CRM and Safety as good as you would get at a flight school/college. maybe you should watch the frontline special on colgan, cause that is how most regional airlines are run

Riddle is a very highly regarded flight school. Especially in the aviation industry. I had an interview with China Airlines, and they knew what Embry-Riddle was. And they were very impressed. I'll find out if I got the job this week. Internationally and Domestically Riddle is highly regarded. Because of the quality of the flight training.
Some flight instructors waste time because they're only instructing to get that airline job. You cannot tell me your Flight School doesn't have the same.

@JJ600RR Riddle isn't regarded any more over any other major school in the industry.. I've not met one single pilot at the airlines who got their job solely on the fact that they are RIDDLE grauduates..
Fact of the matter is Riddle students are well known to be above the rest in book knowledge and known to be piss poor pilots.. You guys know your books but are unable to fly yourself out of a wet paper bag..
It's nice to be lectured by children yet to fly 121..

Riddle grads love other riddle grads cause they know what we had to put up with. Most pilots that train at a local FBO will have to study 10 times harder during their first airline ground/flight school because they don't get all the in depth classes like you do at Riddle.

@hockey8833 I don't deny that ERAU is a good flight school, but there are equally good schools out there for a lot less money. If money is no object, then blow it on ERAU. Otherwise, go somewhere else and receive the same (if not better) education for less. If you think that ERAU is the holy grail, and the only place that produces quality pilots, then I feel sorry for the person sitting next to you in the cockpit.

@hockey8833 You are making a very blanket statement that ERAU is better than ALL FBO schools. That is simply not true. There are many FBO schools that offer training that meets or exceeds the level of training at ERAU. FBO schools produce proficient, knowledgeable pilots that can run circles around some ERAU grads any day. The only point I am trying to get across is that you don't HAVE to go to ERAU to receive quality flight training.

Engine Turbine systems, CRM and aircraft performance will all be taught when you get your type rating. Which BTW is PAID training by the airline. Thats why the CRJ course there is a joke because you could have a thousand hours in that CRJ simulator and any airline with a CRJ will still make you complete their training course in order to fly it for them.

I have some good and bad opinions about Riddle, but if it is someone's first choice, they can do whatever they like. Not all people that went to Riddle is cocky.
