This is not for medical training - - - I hope you can see the difference. If not, perhaps med students need more study in philosophy & ethics. - - - These persons bodies were put on display in a manner to shock people. Whats the message ? Is there a message ? Are human beings merely disposable tissue, to be used in any manner someone wants ? How would you feel about if the bodies of your loved ones were displayed like this ? All displays arent necessarily 'science' or 'art'.

for those of you disturbed by the fact of these plastinated bodies, I wonder how you reached this video in the first place. Then, how do you suppose medical students become doctors? How do they have such an extensive knowledge of the human body? If they don't study these plastinated bodies, how can they diagnose a live person? I am a medical student, and I spend all day studying plastinated body parts. If it weren't for those bodies, I wouldn't know anything.

The bodies in the public exibits are NOT consenting ... they did not sign the back of their drivers licence...they are mostly NONCONSENTING CHINESE PRISONERS WHO MAY HAVE BEEN IMPRISIONED FOR MERE TAX EVASION OR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS OR POLITICAL PRISIONERS. Research organ trafficing in China on google. After the organs are removed from freshly killed prisoners their bodies are sometime bought by the dead body exibit factories IN CHINA where they are then plastinized for museum exibits. Poor souls.

There is a special body donation organization for Von Hagen's Body Worlds exhibitions. The bodies used in his exhibits are those of willing individuals. If you don't agree that it is necessary for us to educate ourselves and each other on what makes us human, then just don't see the exhibit or look up the videos.

If this Dr. Von Hagen is a real activist for this kind of exhibition, he, himself, should be cut and exhbitied one day after his death. He doesn't want it? Then, this is the biggest humiliation of these dead people being exhibited around the world now. DID THEY KNOW THAT THEY WILL BE CUT, MAKING MATING POSTURE AS CORPS BEFORE THEY DIE?????????

@TheBonefree They did in fact. All of his plastinated subjects were volunteers to be plastinated after they died. There was a separate consensual form for them asking if they were willing to be posed for sexual interactions.

Do they really have rights or intact mind to determine/sign any document of this kind? This "Dr." actually proposed to a retired basketball player in Europe to BUY his body (i.e. money before delivery) with a huge amount of money for plastination after his death. IS THIS "DR." WILLING TO PLASTINATE HIS OWN CHILDREN, JUST IN CASE, THEY DIE BEFORE HIM? HE SAID PLASTINATION IS MORAL!

@edwinhasmbs Do you really believe that ALL of them are perfectly willing donors? How about the pregnant woman with his unborn son both plastinated together? Don't take what he does as pure science or pure art. We are not medical students, but visitors with an entrance fee. If he will be able to plastinate his own children for his exhibition, just in case they die before him, he will be consistent with his logic. However, if he will really do it, he should be killed immediately.

@TheBonefree All what you're saying are wrong. Dr. Von Hagens asked for permission to the family of the bodies if they are willing to donate the dead body. As a 13 year-old student, I think Von Hagens' development of plastination is simply amazing.
