  • To be honest, i kind of like the distortion on this, for some reason. i know someone with a M13 and it sounds sick, even through a solid state amp. So i'm really thinking about getting this and using this along with my analog pedals that i already own to just expand my sound.

  • I reckon this bad boys only any good for mods and delays and such, line6 distortion has always kinda sucked but the rest is spot on, for me anyway.

  • is it plastic??

  • I have those same shoes.

  • Seems to be a no brainer in buying this pedal, compared to buying them individually. I actually own all the Line 6 modler pedals, and I really feel like i wasted my money. Especially on the filter on. But in a live environment, this thing is amazing, plus saves lots of space. Who really wants to drag 30 pedals to a live show?

  • @bradtwo My thoughts exactly.i was thinking of buying the thing just for the effects and combine it with a good tube emulation pedal like for example blackstar ht dual.So i would get all the amp sounds from there and leave the rest of the effects to M9.As you said saves a lot of time space and....cables....lol.

  • After trying Line 6 M9 vs the TC Electronics Nova System in a side by side comparison............there was no contest. The Nova system effects sounded far more organic. The delays, choruses, etc.......were far more crisp. The overdrive/distortion were FAR superior but they are analog. The only plus to the M9 is it does not have the steep learning curve the Nova System has.......but if you have the time the Nova System is by far superior.

  • I like mine it's perfect for open mic - open jams. So small & handy never have to worry about a loose patch cord or power cable. Very very easy to get going with straight out of the box too. First multifunction unit I have warmed up to. Sound quality is perfectly adequate for Jamming. A little dirt, maybe chorus or phaser, re verb or delay. Great little unit IMHO

  • @RNRDOLL I own three solid state amps, an ISP Theta, an Ampeg SS140c, and a Pearce G2R. I wouldn't trade any of them for a tube amp.

  • @beholdthecakola

Then im guessing that you are only using clean tones?

Because as soon as you start using distortion on solid state amps, it starts to sound like shit.

But the JC120 probably has the nicest clean sound ever.

  • @notuern The Pearce can do clean to overdrive really well. The ISP covers just about everything, it really is a very versitile amp. I use the Ampeg for death/black metal and grindcore. I've just always liked solidstate amps. I agree you can get a lot of tones out of one channel tube amp based on tubes and pickups, but I dig solidstates.

  • how M9 compare to DM4 ?

  • m9 sounds great.. old anolog pedals sound greater!

  • @dumalucky

    not always true

  • U dont have to use the distortions.... the other effex does it worth the many any way. I use it as a complement... Ive got a Distortion, overdrive, noise gate, compressor and a boost on the side, the m9 works as , chorus, flanger, delay, reverb, tremolo and you know what you have to pay for these effex , especially a delay with tap on it.... just buy it and find a smile on your face...

  • The tube drive is very Guthrie Govan like!

  • 2:30 is very Andy Timmons like. Not bad for a pedal!

  • Multi-effects ain't for me. Don't like the sounds.

  • Tube Echo, then the Tron Up :-)

  • what was the third one called? sounds like chewbaca..

  • Aaaahhhhhhhhh !!!!!!! the shoe !!!!!!!!

  • Really nice demo. I think I'll get one of these now :).

  • nice leads! ( 2:32 - 2:50 )

  • I'm listening but I'm not hearing really high gain fuzz like a dimed Mesa Boogie, etc.

Supposed to be a bunch of different pedal emulations like tube screamer and such but to my ears just from here they sound flat.

Tube amp or not shouldn't matter for most of these effects. A good effect should allow controls to shape it and an EQ to push lows, mids or highs.

I want to hear direct out samples of wild, harmonic, saturated distortion.

  • Looks convinient but the distortion doesn't sound good.I'd still go with a pedalboard.

  • Thats what I thought at first but then I realized I have a boss mt metal zone pedal for fucking shredding metal tones =/ So, anyone got this thing and can tell me if theres really alot of effects that are also fully managable by you in depth, volume, speed, frequency etc?

  • @Den1sVengeance

That is the biggest problem I am having currently,

The M9 & M13 have loads of useless effects, which is frutsrating, because then you are left with around 20ish decent effect - which for around £280 - is frustrating.

I really think the sound on this lacks tone, however it is a very convienient solution to buying loads of effects pedals, furthermore you could easily run a gig from this thing :/

  • @wanaplayrough 20 effects for £280 is just.. extremely cheap

  • @kakeselger

not reallly, they sound very digital and lack alot of tone; as Vengeance said. So you can hardly compare it with 20 stompboxes, if that is what you were suggesting. Also if you want effects you can pick up a Boss ME-50 or GT-8 and get loads more effects. IF you want the effects I would go with them.

Also you can pick up a second hand TC Electronics Nova System which is all anaglogue, bascially resultsing in it being many stop-boxes which bring with them bucket-fulls of tone

  • @wanaplayrough

i say 20 effects are useless

    leaving about 80

you have to be open to creativity and how you can use the effects

this board supports all genres and styles and has every effect you could ever want :)

  • @kakeselger Yep; 20 effects for £280 sure is cheap. (-:

  • @Den1sVengeance The funny thing is that I won a m13 :D:D:D No more pedalboards for me :P

  • @Den1sVengeance i agree, but for a host of effects like delay etc. it would be a great addition to a pedal board!
