  • still awesome!

  • high speed dirt! \m/

  • Does it heat up much?

BTW big up on the open-ness, that's the way it should be - Linux developers concentrate on Linux, Gimp developers concentrate on Gimp, XMMS on XMMS, and everything works everywhere. :-) Modularity FTW.

  • @nikhilesh93 - Since it's an ARM processor, it doesn't heat up much. There's a video somewhere of Craig using it on a pile of snow and he says it isn't even melting the snow. Most of the heat of using it will be transferred body heat.

  • atleast you can firefox on a size of a ds

  • AC/DC + SLAYER + PANDORA = WIN

  • Want one of these so goddamn badly.

  • The Pandora is AWESOME!!!

I wish i had preordered one. Come to think of it, I DID!

  • @lorditachijr fag

  • I don't play single player games much anymore, and I hate purchasing games, so I haven't bought any kind of gaming system in a long time. My computer has been my "console" for years. The only kind of system I can imagine myself buying anymore would be one where you don't have to constantly buy new games. I may have to get myself one of these. Certainly looks enticing.

  • I think i'd prefer an icon style interface - simple to use etc, but an ability to switch to a desktop too. Would this be hard to implement?

  • Rougly as fast as an Athlon XP 800Mhz, though the Athlon has OoOe capabilities . Can't wait getting my hands on one. Truly

  • Hey, will this be able to run other Linux Distributions as well?

  • Versions of Debian and Ubuntu will work.

  • Of course. =)

  • Kk, just read up on SDXC, and I understand that the Pandora might be limited to 32GB, but like still, thats just fucking cool!

And has TWO SD slots :P

  • Sweetness, you're using a USB mouse right?

Also, is there an 'official' IIRC for Pandora?

And does SD have any sort of limit, like the Wii's 2GB limit?

Hope it will support SDXC when it comes out, thats up to 2TB on a single SD :P

So shoulda pre-ordered back in November

  • I think the general consensus is that it will only support SDHC, so 64gb with two 32gb cards and 128gb with two 64gb cards when they are available.

Don't quote me on that though.

  • what song was that after megadeth? (and im so getting one of these when i have some cash)

  • Well AC/DC i mean

  • Good song choice

  • Hi, good video. Do you know wether there are any video demostrations of the touchscreen in action, even simple calibration vid? thanks

  • second that?

  • I know you guys probably won't get to this comment, but could you preview Blender 3D and see how well it runs on the OP?

  • There is no ghosting on this LCD, ghosting is a thing of the past these days.

  • what is ghosting?

  • when you move something at a rapid speed across the screen you can see ghost of it

well where it was previously if you know what i mean

  • @Agentdvd - They can't run Blender just yet because the Pandora uses OpenGL ES, a subset of standard OpenGL. So someone will have to do a little rewriting to make Blender use ES before it will run.

Looks excellent. I've been keeping an eye on this little baby for over a year and it's amazing to see something eveolve from renders to a full grown product. My congratulations to all the guys involved in this and hopefully i can get in on the next batch of Pandoras.

  • Soundwise the best part of the clip is the ending. Pet shop boys rules... watch?v=gl0nRNOhL94

PS.: I'm still waiting for my preordered Pandora!

  • Im only interested in the emulation properties of the pandora but its nice to see that it can do more.Good work Craig ED and all the team.

  • Very cool song at the end (Pet Shop Boys - Integral). :D

  • Big love to the Pandora crew!

  • This is awesome!

  • big deal, your laptop doesn't have a 10+ hour battery life and isn't the size of a nintendo DS

  • nobody cares

  • because playing an entirely multiplayer game - which pretty much REQUIRES a mouse (ie: laptop stationed on table) to be played properly is a plus over the Pandora. That isn't mobility, all you've basically said is that having a hot running, bulky battery eating pile of crap of a laptop that requires a carrying bag of some sort is a plus over a pandora.

  • i can use one of those chest foldy-outy things like stallman

  • And a battery backpack, right?

Just like the one in ghostbusters.

  • FuzzMasterX: pandora is to date the most successful product BY people who are bad at tf2 FOR people who are bad at tf2. That has to count for something.

also your laptop is no big deal, my supercomputing cluster can do this.

  • you just missed the whole point of the pandora

  • i can play gta 4 on mine. but play tf2 on your laptop while sitting in the bus or walking down the street...

  • ooh get you...

  • cool story bro

  • LOOKS BEAUTIFUL

  • woooooooooooooow awesome Craig

  • Pandora can multitask? pfft, who cares about that. I like my single tasking OS like mac OS 7 and windows 3.1. lol. Just playing, this is coming along nicely. The final product I'm sure will be solid.

  • o.O

    all i have to say

  • Cool Beans.

  • AWESOME
