Another way to tell he cheated would be that he has the dark lens, the star lens is supposed to go there which apparently only exists by means of special events... which pisses me off. I wish you could get the dark/star lenses...

And yes, it is odd that you can still use it, though using it with the Paladin (?) makes it show up silver instead. Another thing, is there any way to make the lunar lens do damage, or does it really never do damage. (I seem to remember boktai 1 with it able to do damage somehow)
In Boktai 1, if you leveled it up the LV 3, you could get it to have a stun effect.
In Boktai 3, I think it's only useful for certain occasions, like when you're using the Beatmania frame, or when you're harvesting Solar Bamboo, or ... more! :P
Alright... that would take forever to get it to level 3 though... actually, it might not be that hard where I could just smack the same guy over... and over... and over for hours... Or not.

i just used it with the Phalanx frame on the golem boss, and only damaged him by pushing him into the lava with the Luna Lens. after a few playthroughs, it was at max level. oh, and i also got the Dark Lens to level 2 before i could really use it! but the Star Lens was hardest to level up, since you were only able to attack with grenades while its equipped.

True. You can only get the Dark Lens (and Star) by cheating.
Still, I find it weird that you can have the Dark Lens ... when it was supposed to be just for Sabata.

not by cheating only, i got the star lens in the first dungeon at the end(explore dungeon mission), i also got the drk lens in the big tree i think.
