I was born and raised in Asansol, just a walkable distance from St. Vincent. I see most of the posts are based on the nostalgia. For me, Nah, I don't dwell in the past. It is not what it used to be. St. Vincent and St. Patrick are flooded with Saree clad teachers, workers union and what not. It pains me to see the dusty and sound-polluted Asansol, the sacrilegious murder of the town.

The old Asansol town used to be a small place and we loved to go to Gregory's shop as a child. Everything was so vibrant and thanks for bringing it to life again.
It's a platform to get connected to old Asansolites. I'm now far away but have lasting memories.
I was born in Chittaranjan in 1962 and used to visit Asansol with Dad as a kid to buy our favourite Jim Reeves, Cliff Richards' & Beatles' 45 rpm records from the Mikado. Also used to visit Wahid's bakery for Christmas cakes. This song brings back my chilhood.

this song made me cry. it has been 28 years since I left Asansol. I remember my school, watching movies in chitra cinema, railway station so many things i remember. Here in Canada I tell my kids and wife some day I will take you Asansol, but I dont know when will that day come

As a former Asansolite/Burnpurite I thought the song is a blast from the past. I too went to the famous St Patrick's from 1956 to 1965 and have wonderful memories of the beloved Asansol.
This great guy Terry was a bosom friend of mine during our school days in Asansol, a tribute to the Anglo Indians who shared a mojor part of many social events among the noted schools , SVTHS, SPS, LCA,Terry passion for Music was tremendous and I believe in his inhibitions to climb the ladder of musical success, for him "IF MUSIC IS THE FOOD OF LOVE, TERRY , JUST PALY ON" SKY IS THE LIMIT.
